More like a foundation than a tinted moisturiser

I recently received Garnier Skin Naturals BB Cream (Anti-Aging) in Light to review. Being new to BB Creams, the only experience I have had has been what I had read and heard about this newish phenomenon. From this, I thought this BB Cream would be similar to a tinted moisturiser. Boy was I wrong about that! It is thick, almost like a full-on foundation. I wanted to give it a good go, so I tried various ways of applying this product. On the first day I put a bit on my hands and applied it how I would apply a moisturiser. What can I say – that was a bad idea. It felt thick, greasy and sticky all day – and what’s worse, it ended up all over my scarf and my jacket collar. The next time I put it on, I moisturised first and then applied it with a foundation brush and then set it with powder. This worked slightly better, but still felt greasy and caked on. And yes, it still smudged off fairly easily. For the next attempt, I applied it by fingertip – but sparingly and made sure I really rubbed it in. Unfortunately, it still felt like it was caked on, but didn’t smudge off as easily. Now, I would like to say a quick word about the colour. I know the term ‘Light’ is a fairly subjective term, but this product is much too dark for pale skin with freckles; especially during winter. All of the above notwithstanding, the aspect of this product that bothered me the most was the scent, which was really overwhelming. In this review, I feel I must address the specific product claims made about Garnier Skin Naturals BB Cream Anti-Aging. Firstly, that it reduces wrinkles (and that “in 4 weeks skin appears smoother for 86% of women”). I personally cannot see any change, but I’ve used it less than one week. Secondly, it claims to tighten the skin. Again, I have not noticed any change. Thirdly, it is claimed that it evens and illuminates the skin. Possibly, if covering with a much darker shade than my normal skin is what they mean by evening out the tone. As for illuminating my complexion, once again, I did not notice this. Would I use it again? Maybe in the summer when I had a bit of a tan, but in the winter, it is much too dark for me. Further, if Garnier removed the scent, it would be much more appealing. All in all, not a terrible product, but as it is now (colour and scent), it is not for me.

I expected more

I had heard about BB creams, that they were the new 'thing' in beauty products, but had not yet tried any. I really like the texture of this product, it feels lovely on my skin, however with a real 'combination' skin, with the oily t-zone, by late morning my face felt very oily. I also found that it wasn't enough colour coverage for me during a normal work day, I felt I also needed to add foundation (which possibly could have added to the moisture level). However this weekend I have only used the cream, without foundation, and my skin feels highly moisturised.

Tips: Perhaps use only a little bit on your face if you have oily skin. If you expect a foundation-type cover then this is probably not the product for you.

Anti-aging?

This product has a lovely scent (fresh and light) with a silken texture. I don't wear make up, foundation or tinted moisturiser normally; I struggled with the tint therefore. While it matched my complexion perfectly it felt heavy and I was uncomfortable with the coverage and the way after applying I would wipe my hands and the hand towel would be brown. I was really pleased that this was an all in one product: uv protectant etc, however I think for a non make up wearer I would probably only wear at night. I didn't feel that there was any improvement in my skins appearance or minimisation of aging partly because I think the trial was too short to notice any significant change. I would buy the product again but without the tint as I like the all in one:uv protectant, moisturising and anti-aging (low maintenance one product), and I liked the texture and smell.

Tips: Try applying less and more - more felt like full on make up coverage and less more natural.

BB Cream Anti-Aging

i'm not one to use make up but i like the fact that this is lightweight, you can use one application if you like a nice natural look or apply a second layer and i found it easier to apply with a sponge not fingers i like the fact that it is a light touch of make up smooths skin,a pleasant smell about it.i found it long lasting,i don't think really had that much time to notice any big difference in my face but in saying that i did have alot of comments on how different i look,in a good way i hope.it did cover redness that i have and it"s light enough to allow your skin to breathe, and the colour match was good for light skin.the price i feel is good and yes it does"nt break the bank.have seen this on the shelf at the warehouse on the weekend so i no where to get some.

Tips: Nice natural looking foundation when applied.i would wear this on it's on as is,not thick and caked on,nice.

BB as an Anti Ageing Treatment?

Love the concept of an anti-aging hydrating cream with a hint of foundation colour! Multi-tasking products are the new thing of the future. I have used this product every day since I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial it. I add my usual foundation over top when going out for a heavier coverage and the BB cream acts as a really nourishing foundation primer. I have definitely recommended this product to my friends and sisters and will be buying once I complete the tube. It does go a long way so I don't think this will be for quite some time yet! The price is unbelievable and easy to buy as available with my weekly shop. A very convenient beauty staple.

Tips: I do find it a little thin in comparison to my usual BB cream or even my foundation so I apply it with a foundation brush so it absorbs into my skin evenly. I got sent the light sample which was a very good match with my skin colour. I would be keen to see a sample of the darker colour to use in summer so may purchase closer to the end of the year.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream - Anti Age

I was very excited to hear I was picked for this as I had noticed a few wrinkles lately, I was also a little worried as I had been using natural products for a couple of years now so wasn't sure how my skin would react. Thankfully it was fine, it glided on like silk and my skin still felt like it could breathe, it covered all my wrinkles and even some of my blemishes! and seemed to stay on all day, also worked well with my normal natural moisturiser, this was a lovely cream that I would certainly use again!

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream AntiAgeing

As a woman in her early 40's I am naturally interested in a cream that can assist my skin to hold off the signs of ageing, so I was really pleased to trial the Garnier BB Cream. Overall my skin is usually pretty good, with a slightly oily t-section at times. I am prone to breakouts though, as my hormones work their way through getting older - joy! I have some freckling around my cheekbone area, so I was hopeful that the promise on the box of correcting blemishes would come true.

The consistency of the cream looks heavy and thick, but it is surprisingly light, goes on well, with good coverage. I applied it just with my fingers and I found that it is true that less is more. I only needed a small amount to cover my face. I found the fragrance of the cream very pleasant, and not overpowering. The fragrance didn't seem to conflict with other scents I applied (e.g. perfume), it is a light floral scent.

I found the product covered well, however I was disappointed that it didn't really deliver what it promised, as my blemishes were still evident and not corrected, as promised. I also didn't feel my skin tone was even, as stated on the box. Having said that I did feel my skin was hydrated well, without feeling moist or greasy.

I did feel the product lasted the majority of the day, with only one issue where I had applied it one morning very early, before travelling, and around mid-afternoon it was pointed out to me that the cream had gathered along the lines around my eyes and was actually emphasising my wrinkles, rather than reducing them. It was embarrassing, but easily fixed by smoothing out with my fingertips.

Price wise this product is at my local supermarket for under $20 and I think it is well worth that, and a bit of a bargain. Because of the little amount you need to use it will last for many applications and therefore is very economical.

The packaging is a bit "busy" with alot of information on it, however it is appropriate for the product and when you are trying to decide which product is for you while standing in the supermarket aisle, this will make your decision so much easier.

I have only been using the product for a week, but so far overall I am happy with how it makes my skin feel. It doesn't necessarily deliver on all that it promises, but it seems a great base to the rest of my make-up regime. I like that it contains sunscreen, and I wonder if longer term use may assist in correcting my blemishes and evening out my skin tone, and eventually the better hydration may reduce the production of wrinkles in the least.

I would recommend it to a friend if they were looking for an economical BB cream to wear as a base as part of their skin care regime.

Tips: After applying the BB Cream I used some pressed powder on a make-up sponge and dabbed it lightly on my cheekbones and blemishes and this improved the appearance of the product in terms of covering blemishes.

Not Bad

Was intrigued to try this product and was pleasanlty surprised. The texture of the product felt rich and creamy to me, but did have a fragrant scent. It applied well with a natural look and a radiance that to me did seem to minimise the appearance of fine lines. It did have a slight firming affect when applied, but I didnt notice any great hydration increase to my skin. But it didint dry it out either. The coverage was natural and did dull down my high check colour which I always have trouble with. All in all I think this product was good value for money, and if you want a natural no make up look with some coverage it would be a good option. I would wear this a weekend make up or for travel to a warm climate when you dont want full coverage but need a suncreeen

Great for all skins and ages

This wonder product is great as a light coverage or with powder or as I often wore it, under a foundation for an evening look. It is moisturising without being greasy and was great for my older skin as well as my daughters who is 18.

Tips: Use a foundation brush for an even coverage.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream-Anti Aging

Hi everyone, well I have spent the last nine days testing the BB cream by wearing it everyday. It certainly went on easily, a little goes a long way. I found it gave good coverage and my skin does feel firmer then before. As for it reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, I think it might take longer then a nine day trial for that to occur. So I defer my judgement on that aspect of the cream. It was.very easy to wear and when I went out I used a bit of blusher, mascara,a bit of lippy and that was it. The coverage lasted all day. I tend to have sensitive skin with some products, but can honestly say that I had no problems with this cream. I also checked out some of the prices of other BB creams and found this one to be a lot more affordable then most of the other brands.

Tips: Do not get any in your eyes as it stings like crazy. I must of had a little on my hand when I rubbed my eye( before washing them after applying the cream). Won't do that again.
