Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Anti Ageing Review

Bring it on, I thought, when I was selected for this the trial of this product. I've tried a few BB creams and had been impressed with the latest product I was using, so the Garnier anti-ageing version presented a good challenge. I should have opted for Light because Medium is a little too yellowy/dark, however I could live with that, and so the trial began. I thought the cream was a but clumpy and it took some working in with the foundation brush but it proved to be good coverage, not too shiny and worked with my blusher and other make up. Yes, it lasted well all day, didn't "slide" off my face as do some foundations. I always cleanse very thoroughly and apply night cream. A few days use and I'm seeing it quite positively, not sure about "instantly flawless" or firming though a good lasting coverage. Then I noticed the colouring on my white pillow case so I paid more attention to cleansing and then this morning decided to have a bath and enjoy a facial steam clean. Wow, even more colouring came off on the facecloth - no, I don't use soap on my face! Not impressed with this at all. I'm a make up girl and appreciate that not all products are pure and natural, though take a look at the ingredients in this product. Not for me this time and back to my multi-targeted BB cream which ticks more boxes. I've given my make up brush a good wash and am off to clean the bath and put the pillow case in to soak.

I received trial Anti Aging BB cream from beauty review and was excited to put it on next morning. The texture is smooth but once you spread it onto your face it seemed disappearing without any coverage as 'primer'. The texture was too light for my 40+ years old which I need more moisturizing protection. It said 'Reduces wrinkles, Firms Skin and Instantly Perfect Skin' but I did not see any effect after tried 4 days so far.

Product was clumpy when i first used it, but once i wiped the clumps away it had a very smooth texture. Once i applied it i noticed that it left a oily residue and i ended up blotching it with a tissue. The colour didnt match my skin tone it was way to light, so i ended to apply powder foundation on top of it to get the desired effect. I passed it along to my Mum to utilize and it was perfect for her. Overall even though it didnt suit me it did suit her and she loves it.

My skin type is combination oily with dry patches. I used Murad Oil-Control Mattifier as my daily moisturiser and used it with this BB Cream.

Packaging - Product came in squeeze tube, with a flip top lid. This is a great design that I love. Because it is also shorter and wider than their BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin, you are able to have it stand upright when not in use, meaning the contents are already at the port to be used rather than having to squeeze the product to the port.

The smell of the product does have a hint of that typical sunscreen smell. Not full-on sunscreen but enough to notice in the tube. Once on the skin, I didn’t notice a smell.

Longevity - Products usually only last 8 hours on my skin due to my oily skin, and this lasted that long.

Texture and application - the product has quite a thick constancy almost like that of a clay masks when you squeeze it out. Once it is applied to the heat of your skin, it melts down to become more of a cream. Their BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin is more runny and difficult to work with, so the Anit-Ageing formula is a lot easier to use.

Because I was using this BB Cream for the first time, I did use too much to apply to my face. So a little goes a long way. The first time I used my fingers. I have also tried to use my beauty blender to apply the product. The third time I used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which I found to be by far the best way to apply the product out of the three ways. It blended far better than the other ways. The product dries fast, and almost to a powder finish. Once the product sinks into the skin, the illumination factor of the product kicks in and gives a soft glow to the skin.

Colour - I used the shade “Light”. This was a few shades to dark for me. My foundation shade in MAC is NC15, and Revlon Colourstay in 110 Ivory. I had to really blend it in to sheer the colour enough so I can wear it by itself without having to use my foundation.

Evens & illuminates – my skin does appear to ‘glow’. I prefer to have a shine free face, so I did powder my face with a mattifing powder. Even then, my skin is still had a ‘glow’. I did my usual blotting through-out the day, and my face came off being more oily. This may be due to there being sunscreen in the product. No indication on what the spf factor is. So in summer, you would have to add another sunscreen.

I would have to say that the major down side of this product is the limited shade range. I would definitely try a lighter shade if they came out with one. At the moment they only have the 2 shades and neither are a good fit for me. So I wouldn’t purchase this product due to the colour. If you have oily skin and hate a shiny face, you might want to miss this BB Cream.

Working for the police means I need something quick and easy to apply yet effective! I was thrilled with this product - it left my skin feeling soft and silky even 3 hours later! I used only this product and had no need for mineral powder on top like I expected!

I have dry sensitive skin which I thought would be perfectly suited to this product.

First of all I was very surprised at the thickness of this product and found it was more easily applied with my fingers and sunk better into the skin this way. I am happy to say this has not irritated my sensitive skin however does cling to dry patches. It does feel nice a moisturising on the skin but I think I would still apply a moisturiser underneath to help prevent the clinging of the product to drier areas of skin. I found the light shade was quite a good match for my skin tone but gave only very light coverage (I expected higher coverage to be honest, especially considering the thickness of the product).

I find the tinted moisturiser I use more often has a higher coverage than this product and found this bb cream did not even out my skin tone enough. It did add a bit of colour to my skin but my redness was only slightly reduced.

I don't really feel this does anything in terms of anti-aging but would have to use this a lot longer to see if this claim is true and considering I do not wear makeup on a daily basis I would probably not see much of a difference anyway.

I will not repurchase this as I know there are bb creams that give a better coverage available and would prefer to use them, however if you only want a very light coverage and product that feels light on the skin and gives some spf protection than this may be worth checking out.

I have tried many skin anti aging creams, this one is a keeper. It is creamy and light and goes on easily. It is suitable for sensitive skin as I had no problem and it lasts all day with great coverage and minimizing lines and wrinkles. You don't need to use much therefore is value for money, I would definately recommend to a friend and will continue using it.

I got the opportunity to review this product as part of the br trial team. I wasn't expecting much, as its a lower price product but I was very pleasantly surprised. It goes on very smoothly, and gives a great finish even if its gone on flaky dry skin without moisturizer or exfoliating first. I did find that I needed to use quite a bit, but that is possibly because my skin is thirsty and it has a great moisturizing base. It wore well throughout the day, and my skin felt great. I have very sensitive skin, and it has caused no reaction at all. Very gentle, no noticeable smell and long wearing. I don't know if is age defying, but all the other claims I found to be true. Very impressed!!

I found this BB Cream to be light non greasy ,absorbs into skin good delivering a light coverage that evened out skin tones. And moisturised well. I found it quick and easy to apply and it kept looking good all day .price is affordable , I would highly recommend using this and would buy it again .

Lovely even coverage, but light, i enjoyed wearing this and the colour was good, skin had a soft look to it, not made up, very natural and even, and it blended well on my chest area too.
