Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Anti Ageing Review

Love it so far Ive only just got this product today after reading a few reviews. This product is easy to use, glided onto my face with ease, the product is of a medium consistency, so not to runny and easy to apply by finger. I couldnt smell any fragrance to the product, perfect for my sensitive skin and I like the idea of Anti Ageing! Ive had it on now for 3 hours without anything over top, and it looks as though ive just applied it, Price wise its affordable

My skin type is normal . The product consistency was medium thickness and easy to squeeze from the tube. Application was extremely easy and I just applied this like a normal foundation. It glided across my skin really nicely and did not feel sticky or gooy. There was no fragrance that I could detect. Covergar was absolutely brilliant and I did not need to use very much of the product for great coverage. The product lasted most of the workday for me and I did not fine it rubbed onto my hands and got on anything lijke a lot of other products do. The packaging was quite subdued and not very vibrant. The results were amazing , my skin felt amazing all day long and very soft and it continued to look good all day. I would recommend this to anyone

Well I think I have found it! This is a great product! It feels great on and gives a fantastic cover while looking natural. Its a great base for day make up but I would probably add powder to go out in the evening. The first thing that impressed me about the product was the fact that it smells nice, not chemically like others do.

I was surprised to open the tube and find the cream was tinted, and at first felt a little reluctant...but, the cream went on soothly as silk, the colour was PERFECT for my fair, older skin, it had no troublesome fragrance, and my skin felt velvet smooth afterward.

The box it comes in is a little un-feminine, but it some ways it is a nice contrast to all the white anonymous boxes of face cream on the supermarket shelves. There was lots of information on the box, which I appreciate, as it felt like I could be fully informed before using it. There is also a full list of ingredients, and reasons why/how to use the cream, so it feels like the manufacturers are being honest/helpful in describing their product (rather than making unsubstantiated claims as many of the competitors do).

BB cream claims to hydrate skin for 24 hours, which many other products do too...the difference for me, is that this one ACTUALLY WORKED.

I would most definitely recommend this cream to others...it is long lasting, light, a delight to use, and perfectly coloured for older fair skin. Thank you Garnier - the effectiveness of this product surprised me. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

The Garnier anti-ageing BB cream has a light, pleasant floral scent that goes away shortly after application. It felt very moisturizing to my dry skin as I applied it, which surprised me as the marketing copy says it is aimed at those with normal to oily skin; however, the moisturizing effect makes good sense for an anti-ageing product as skin tends to get drier as we age. It gave a light coverage and left a dewy finish, which is flattering to mature skin. I tested the "light" shade, which was almost too dark for my skin (MAC NC15-20ish). It also had a pronounced yellow undertone which suited my skin, but I can't imagine that would flatter everyone.

Unfortunately, the Garnier BB cream aggravated the redness in my cheeks each time I applied it and I had to use another product to cover those areas of my face. I later checked the ingredients list, which includes alcohol. Alcohol is drying to skin and can irritate it; this would also explain the slight burning sensation I felt on my cheeks while applying. For this reason, I did not try applying more cream on my cheeks to see if the coverage was buildable.

This aggravation also occurred when I tried the Garnier sensitive skin BB cream last year (my own purchase). In my opinion, alcohol has no place in a sensitive or anti-ageing skin product!

I also discovered in my research that the sensitive skin BB cream contains 25 SPF while the anti-ageing BB cream contains 15 SPF. I would argue that 15 SPF is too low for an anti-ageing BB cream as sun damage is our worst enemy when it comes to the look of our skin, especially here in NZ. Even if I could continue to use this product I would have to apply another product with sunscreen, which negates the advantage of using an "all-in-one" BB cream.

As far as any anti-ageing benefits, I don't feel that a one week trial is long enough to truly test this claim. I did note that the product contains sodium hyaluronate. Hyaluronic acid has been shown to reduce the signs of aging in clinical tests as it holds on to moisture and plumps up the skin, so I can see how it could make wrinkles look less obvious over time.

PROS: Relatively low cost (drugstore brand); light, inoffensive scent that quickly disappears, moisturizing feel and slightly dewy finish.

CONS: Not enough sunscreen for an anti-ageing BB cream. Contains alcohol which can be irritating to skin. May not provide enough coverage for uneven skin tone. Very limited shade range, although this is common for BB creams.

BOTTOM LINE: Because it has an SPF of only 15 and contains alcohol, I cannot recommend this product as an anti-ager. It might suit those with relatively clear skin who prefer a light coverage, but there are other BB creams out there with a higher SPF and without alcohol.

I have used this product before trialling and have it in my make-up kit. I like this product, easy to apply, glides on with great cover and does not leave any residue as absorbs and dries quickly. I have found this particular BB creme a little too thick an application for my sensitive skin type and gives it a slight powdery look. However I found that it does even out my skin tone and does promote glow initially but as the day progresses I do need a slight touch up. This product is great value for money and can be purchased cheaper than the RRP if you shop around. Looking forward to trialling BB creme for sensitive skin types.

I was really impressed by this product. What I liked about it was that it was easy to apply and simplified my routine making it a great product to take away on holiday. I liked the mousse like consistency and the fact that me skin was still moist by the end of the day which is a boon when working in air conditioning. My only problems were that it reacted on my skin after a few days but happily I see that there is one for sensitive skin which I will definitely be trying. The colour was my other concern the medium being a bit too orange for me but in summer it may be fine. I am excited to try the one for sensitive skin
