Definitely glossy!

I really enjoyed using this product. Though the gloves were small, the instructions were very easy to follow (and come in so many languages!) and the process was very simple. I'd never coloured my hair myself before so I was a little nervous about it but was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was. It came with loads of conditioner as well which was fab. I have brown hair and simply dyed it another brown but much nicer. Most people didn't even notice I'd dyed it to be honest but I thought the colour was great, clearly very natural looking and still felt healthy and smooth. I specifically asked a couple of friends what they thought and both noted my hair was shinier and healthy looking which is always fab to hear. I dyed it 19/12 so a little under 3 weeks ago and I can tell the colour has faded a bit. I understand that its summer but I would say it definitely wouldn’t last 28 washes, for me anyway. I would be happy to use this product again though, and would recommend it to others for sure! I’m pleased I had the chance to trial it!

Tips: Have other gloves on hand in case you can't fit the ones given

Plum

This is amazing! It is super easy to apply and doesn't leave permanent stains on everything (because it's not permanent). I left mine on for 45 minutes as I have always done with other hair dyes. It washed out really easy and didn't leave big blobs on my scalp like some other dyes do. It is quite dark at the moment but this is quite normal for hair dyes I feel so will fade down in a couple of washes. I have naturally auburn hair and I found that the colour on the box came out exactly what it says. The conditioner is lovely and leaves your hair feeling really silky soft. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who doesn't like the permanent solutions

Tips: Put glad wrap on your head after colouring to make the colour stick even better!

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

I've been home colouring as long as I can remember & its generally an area where I'm rarely impressed, but this product has surpassed my expectations a lot! The packaging is pretty standard - it fits well in with the other similarly priced products on the shelf. I found the applicator to be better than most I've used, the bottle was a good size, but the only downside - the gloves were too small for my relatively normal sized hands! I pressed on anyway, the scent was really pleasant, lovely light fragrance - a lot better than most other products I've used. Usually I would struggle to cover my long thick hair with one pack of colour & I worried there wouldn't be enough for my ends after I'd applied the colour to my roots - but to my surprise there was plenty to cover all my hair - although I would suggest if you have long & thick hair and are going a fair bit darker it may pay to use two packs. One issue that always bothers me with home hair colouring is the spillage & staining that can occur along the hairline & face, I was pleasantly surprised to find very little of this 'evidence' of home colouring. And... the result is fabulous! I love the colour (Black Cherry) & my hair is super shiney and soft. I will definitely use this product again!

Tips: I found the applicator fantastic, but I also used a colour brush to spread the colour evenly on my roots to get a better coverage.

Nicer smell, feels healthy and soft

I found this didn't have such a strong chemically smell as other hair dyes which was a nice change, it was really easy to apply and love that it is non drip! I got the 1021 VERY LIGHT PEARL BLONDE: PERMANENT COLOUR and found the colouring was ok (prefer my normal lightener) as it did help lighten my brown roots to a golden ginger, and my pinky red underneath went to a browny ginger (if that makes sense), I do wish there was a toner in it as it really did need it. I love that there is no ammonia, it did make my hair feel healthy and soft especially with the conditioner enriched with Royal Jelly which was so nice to use, I got two uses out of the conditioner but it was so hard to get out the second time that I gave up and felt like left a lot in the tube/bottle maybe if it was a different shape? All in all it was a nice formula that made me feel like I wasn't using harsh chemicals, I would buy again if it's on special and would like to try the shades Plum and Licorice.

Tips: Have scissors handy if using the conditioner for a second time to get it all out.

Glossy Results

I recently tried this product in the shade 1021: Very Light Pearl Blonde. It's the lightest shade in the range and is a permanent colour. It's important to note that while the majority of shades in this range are semi-permanent, the three top light blonde colours are permanent! However this was perfect for me and just what I was looking for as my hair is already bleached blonde so I wanted a product that would cover my natural brown root re-growth and blend well with my previous colour (also an at-home job). While I was worried that the shade might be too light for me I read elsewhere that it's good for toning down brassiness in blonde hair - something that I sometimes struggle with. On applying the product I noticed that the crème formula was definitely "non drip" which I liked, and being ammonia free made it a pleasant experience to use compared with dye I’ve used in the past containing ammonia that left me choking on fumes, yuck! I followed the instructions to a tee, starting with my roots then later running the product through the lengths of my hair. I found the dye easy to wash out and loved the scent of the conditioner – intrigued also by the ingredient ‘royal jelly’. Later after drying my hair I could see that the colour had taken well to my roots and blended well with the lengths of my hair. It didn’t come out exactly the same colour as on the packaging but I was content with the results and pleased to find the colour was definitely less brassy than others I’ve tried. The conditioner had also left my hair feeling smooth and looking glossy. A couple of days later I washed my hair again, this time with my HG purple shampoo and fell in love the results. In the end, my hair came out a nice and light shiny blonde colour complete with natural high and low lights. Ultimately, I’d be happy to pay a few more dollars for this product compared to some other cheaper dyes I've tried as I think the results were superior and importantly, my hair still felt healthy afterwards.

Tips: Use a toothbrush to ensure full coverage on the roots.

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

Was so excited when this hair dye arrived! Just in time for the holidays. The instructions were sweet and short. No hassles there. I applied the creme with the applicator bottle, left it in for 20 minutes as per instructions. Then into the shower. I was pleasantly suprised the large conditioner bottle. Meaning I can use it a few times when washing my hair.

Once my hair was propley dried and styled, I was very pleased with the final result. The colour was fresh and shiny. My hair looked well conditioned and full of lustre. It felt very soft and smooth to the touch. And the grey? What grey! :) Definitely will be using L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss again. I feel paying that price for it is worth it. As you get what you pay for!

L'Oreal Casting creme gloss hair dye!

Thanks to Beauty Review i got to trial this hair dye. When i had a look on the website it took me a while to decide on what colour as the difference between the darkest blonde and lightest brown was fairly big i didn't know what one to pick and ended up choosing the lightest brown. It arrived and was very dark to what the website had shown. A week ago i used it to ombre my hair, it didnt have a strong smell like some other dyes, was easy to mix and read the instructions. Applying it to my hair wasn't a big deal either, easy application, waited only 20 minutes because at that point it was the colour i wanted to be. Washed it out, which was also easy and quick not like other brands where it doesnt seem to stop running colour in the shower. After drying my hair it felt nice and smooth (some dyes make my hair look frizzy and yuck) and the colour was better than expected ! The only thing that i didnt like was the gloves they put in with the dye are not the best, they rip easily and just made a bit of a mess and i ended up with dye on my hands.

Best - do it at home toner

This review is for caramel colour. outside packaging is nice and colourful. usual clear applicator bottle, two hand glove, easy instruction sheet, colour and conditioner. Consistency is thick when mixed together, and easy to apply to hair. Smell is nice, no ammonia and not very heavy. I followed the instruction as to damp hair and towel dry. since my hair was highlighted and I needed to re-toned it different colour it worked for me. when applying colour I worked from roots to end and left it for required time washed with warm water and applied jelly conditioner. I got nice caramel colour on my highlighted hair. Disappointed as it did not colour grey hair that much. Yes I will buy again to re-tone my highlighted hair..

Tips: yes.. follow instruction paper carefully and do allergy test first, if its your first time.

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

I chose the Mahogany and found the dye easy to mix it was a good consistency so not runny. My hair looked shiny afterwards and smelt nice, so it does what it says it will. Sometimes after dyeing my hair feels dry and rough but this time it is soft. The conditioner is a good size. The price is more than i usually pay for other dyes but would buy it again when its on special.

Really disappointing!

I trialled the shade 1021 Very Light Pearl Blonde in the hope that it would make my bleach blonde hair a more natural shade of blonde, but the dye didn't seem to change my hair colour at all - the only difference I noticed was that my roots became a slightly lighter gingery colour.

This dye is really easy to use, with normal home colouring bottles and tubes, and the formula is really nice - lovely to not have that awful ammonia smell! I did find that the application bottle wasn't very strong and made it hard to get the last of the product out, but I loved that I only needed to use one box on my long hair which usually needs at least two. I was also pleasantly surprised by the relatively big bottle of conditioner that was provided as usually I need to add my own conditioner as well as I never have enough.

However, that's where the pros end for me as my colour did not change at all. Perhaps the box I got was a dud because all the other reviews are raving, or maybe it was because I wasn't trying to dramatically change my hair colour, but my hair is no different before and after using this product. My hair does seem shinier however, but as a result of my hair dying experience I won't be trying this product (or at least this shade) again.
