Chocolate Chestnut

I have never used a semi permanent colour in my hair before but after using this product I will be ONLY using semi permanent :) it is the only brown that has not turned my hair almost black - it's the most gorgeous colour! It was super easy to apply to my hair and the after care conditioner makes my hair so soft - I didn't even use it all so I had some extra left for the next time I washed my hair! I have long thick hair and the one box covered all my hair easily! This is the nicest at home hair dye I have ever used! A++++++

IN LOVE!!

I was lucky enough to trial this hair dye and absolutly glad i had the opportunity too as it is now going to be my go to hairdye. This is the first ammonia free hairdye i have used an i chose the hair colour of black cherry to try the pakaging was cute and wasnt just a plain rectangle shape like others. The gloves felt snug on my hands and well made unline the plasticy budget looking ones most other dyes have. When mixing the products together it was a pleasant smell not a strong chemicly smell it smelt a bit like grapes to me haha The product was a deep purple to apply and it was thick and easy to spread through my hair i was glad the waiting time was only 20mins as most are about 45 minutes and with kids less time it takes the better The conditioner was a lovely smell and only needed a little amount it didnt take too long to rinse and condition i hairdried ny hair to see the end result and i was very happy with the results it is like a dark reddish colour my hair was black to start with. So i will definatly be using this again an be reccomending to people :)

Light Brown 600 Casting Creme

I used Loreal Casting Creme Gloss Light Brown 600. It was relatively simple to apply as I am quite used to at-home hair dying. I applied to the roots first and left my ends until last as instructed. The smell of the Casting Creme was plesent and didn't make my eyes water or my nostrils burn like some of the permanent hair dyes do. The Casting Creme felt comfortable on my hair and scalp, which is usually quite sensitive, so that was a bonus! Upon washing my hair out in the shower, my hair was left feeling slightly dry but certainly not matted and straw-like as I have experienced with other hair dyes. I then used the provided conditioner which was thick and luxurious with a lovely scent, it de-tangled and smoothed my hair and gave it quite a glossy shine. After blow drying my hair and examining the colour, It had left my hair with a slight brassy tint to my roots where the light hit. Since the application I have washed my hair 4 times and it has faded significantly. All in all though, I am impressed. I would not however pay the RRP $19.99 for a temporary colour but I would purchase again if it was on special.

Tips: Apply petroleum jelly to the skin around hair line. Use an old towel around your shoulders. Comb dye through with a wide tooth comb to ensure even distribution. Keep a timer handy. Try and avoid washing your hair any more often than necessary so you get longer lasting results.

Black vixen!

I am absolutely floored by the L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss and how much I oh so adore it!! I found the box to be very useful in that it had a perforated section where the application bottle stood so that I could put the developer cream in to the applicator without spillage on my very white sink.

The smell is quite pleasant which is a change to the very chemical and strong smelling dyes of other brands that I have used in the past which makes a nice change. The bottle was very easy to use on my hair giving even coverage and getting to the very root which often I miss with applicator bottles which are hard to squeeze or the nozzle is shaped wrong.

The instructions were easy to follow but I didn't understand why I had to dye the roots first wait fifteen minutes then continue with the rest it's a waste of my time so I just did the whole lot in one go which worked just as well. So it's a hassle without needing to be.

I have the same complaint as with every box of home dye that the gloves that are supplied are too small for my sausage fingers and therefore they split and my fingers were covered in black dye for two days before it wore off. I do however love the little plastic container the gloves came in and is being reused as a piercings container (very handy)!

The colour developed very fast on my hair and I saw results within five minutes of it being on. I chose the colour Licorice which is a black shade and very dramatic for a usual red head. After twenty five minutes I washed it out and it left black remnants all over my shower box which was a let down and even after scrubbing furiously it was still noticeable.

The colour was a huge difference for me but I am in total love with it and will continue to use this product and this colour choice for a while until I change my mind again.

It has been 7 days since my transformation and the colour is still sticking and is as dramatic as the day I dyed it even after washing three times so I am sold on it!! I am a believer! I love it even more because when I look at it in the light it has tints of green which is exactly what licorice looks like when bitten or cut.

One other thing that I didn't like to much is it is called a Creme Gloss but it made my hair feel straw like even after conditioning which I remedied with a hair treatment.

All in all have found a new love in my life and it's neither my husband nor my son its L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss oh yesssss!!!!

Tips: Use a treatment of some sort afterwards because the soft just dyed feeling doesn't happen.

Was ok

I put this colour through about a week ago and it was ok. It shows a lot of golden tones in my hard more than blonde and my roots look completely golden. It made my hair feel pretty alright after. The smell of the colour itself wasn't over powering but the conditioner smelt really bad. I didn't like the conditioner at all.

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

This was my first time using a non-ammonia hair dye, and for a semi permanent I was pleasantly suprised. It smelt amazing, and was super gentle on my hair. I got the shade 530 Praline. It was a deep brown with blonde highlights showing through in the light. The dye was easy to apply, and was super glossy and made my hair look amazing. It has already faded a bit after 6 washes though so I'm a bit disappointed about that but overall I have enjoyed trying this product, and would recommend it to anyone not wanting a permanent colour.

Tips: Try not to wash your hair too much so your colour lasts longer :)

So good and so freaking easy!

I was picked to trial this by BR and to say I was nervous was an understatement. I was a home colouring virgin and I picked the shade Plum # 316. I could not wait to get it done and read the instructions a couple of times and it seemed a bit too easy to be true. I asked on the BR forums for advice and away I went. I mixed the two bits that I needed to mix together and then I applied it to the roots of my hair first and then to the ends. I was worried that because I have long hair (which is easily to the bottom of my shoulder blades) that I wouldn't have enough product and I almost got a second one just to make sure I didn't run out. I'm so glad I didn't! There was easily enough product to cover my entire head and ends generously and once I had covered everything I squirted the rest on just to use it all up. I waited the 20 mins as stated and it did not drip it anywhere. I even took a risk and sat on my bed (which has white sheets) while I was waiting and there was no disaster to report. I got in the shower after the 20 mins was up and washed it all off. I then applied the royal jelly conditioning treatment and rinsed that out too. Out of the shower and woohoo!!! Purple hair! The process of doing the colour could not have been easier and I feel a bit silly for not realising how easy it is. I have quite a few greys (not even 30 yet grumble, grumble) and it covered them completely. My hair was a medium brown to begin with and the colour payoff was way, way, way more then I expected it to be. The colour has lasted well and as claimed looks lovely and glossy. So far I did it a week ago and have washed it three times and it still looks great. There has been a slight fade from the day the colour was done but actually not as much as I would reasonably expected. I will update this review in a few weeks so that I can comment on the 28 washes claim. *Update* I found between the second and third week of this being in my hair the colour faded quite a bit and was certainly noticeably more dull. I think it probably lasted in my hair for 28 washes but after the first few weeks it didn't look so flash My hair has felt really good and has certainly not been visibly damaged by the colour treatment. I love how easily it has covered up my greys and I will be continuing on with these for sure! I am super impressed with this product and it is such an easy and simple way to change up your look (and cover those annoying greys) as and when you please. I have since repurchased this in the shade Brownie and love the colour.

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

I love the colour, and have had so many compliments about it. The gloves that came with this is very small. has a nice pleasant smell to this and the conditioner. and it comes off easy if it gets onto your skin.

Tips: get some bigger gloves if you have big hands as the gloves are small

Was not a fan

So I was Given the trial of the L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss Hair Colour and I choose the Colour 412 Iced Cocoa which is a beautiful Shiny dark brown, my hair was just a medium brown but i had Blonde and Purple Panels through my hair that i wanted to get rid of.

Well to start off with the packaging is good, cool funky shaped box, lots of colour to catch the eye, lots of little information sections that are easy to read, the bottle of the formula are easy to mix the product in to, was not a fan of the conditioner bottle though, I struggled to get it out and had to bang it or smash it just to get it out and even then there was more i just couldn't get out and felt like it was a waste of product.

The Formula of the actual colour was nice, it was not too runny but then the dye wasn't too thick either, so application was easy and the product was workable into all areas, it did smell really good, no watery eyes while doing the application. So after applying the product to my entire hair i checked it to ensure it was covering my entire hair and was satisfied that i was got it all, in the instructions it had said to wait 20min which was good, I cant stand those ones where you have to wait for 45min. I left it in for 30 though just because I knew that i had the blonde and purple in my hair that needed to be covered, Wash out was simple, I didnt feel like It was a struggle to remove which was good as some colours you can feel like your washing them out forever, i felt like after i washed it out, my hair was dryer though than it normally would be after a full colour which had me a little concerned, I towel dried my hair as it said in the instructions and then added the conditioner, I put a little extra in the ends as I was worried about the dryness, left the conditioner for 15min then combed it through before washing it out, Well my hair was dry and gross I was not a fan or that after using this colour, the dryness did not go away I had to get in to a hair salon for a moisture treatment on my hair just to help it, I don't know if that was because of the L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss or what but my hair was not in that condition even with blonde panels before using this product and then I saw that the colour didn't take over some of my purple panels and had little purple patches throughout my hair, again I don't know if I missed them while doing the application or if the product just did not take but I thought I had double checked my hair after applying the formula. So that I did not like.

So overall, I am not a fan of this product, it dried my hair out, everything else was okay actually do not get me wrong, it will be an amazing product for someone else but my hair personally did not like it, I think it would be great for someone who wants a semi-permanent colour at a great price with a huge range of colours and the colours are beautiful, it again is just not a product i will reach for again.

Tips: Use barrier Cream or Vaseline around your hair line and over the ears and the colour will not stain the skin, or if you do get it on the skin, use shampoo on the corner of a face cloth and scrub asap, shampoo is a colour stripper. And also dont shampoo hair for 48hrs after a colour, helps the colour last.

Red

I chose the colour Blackcurrant. It's a lovely, deep but not too deep reddish colour. Now my hair was already a shade of purple, so it wasn't a completely new shade for me. But I definitely had a couple of months' worth of brunette regrowth. Sometimes it shows up more red and sometimes it shows up more purple.

Update: 09/01/2015 It definitely comes up more red on my hair now. It's a beautiful deep shade that I'm going to continue buying because I'm completely in love with it.

I'd say I have purely good things to say about this product. I like to get either my mother or step mother to apply this to my hair because I hate dyeing my hair myself. I think the gloves were quite small but that was fine for her because her hands and fingers are quite slim. The instructions were super easy to follow and I had no trouble understanding exactly what to do.

A lot of hair dyes hurt my scalp because it's very dry and sensitive but this one didn't burn much at all. Also it didn't smell horrible and overpowering like a lot of dyes I've used, it actually smelled pleasant.

Fast forward to me washing the product out. I found it didn't take as long to watch the excess product out of my hair as it has been with other dyes. It was also super duper easy to clean off of the walls of the shower - and off of my skin! The conditioner smells fruity and beautiful, you get a TON of it, on my mid length hair I get 3 - 4 applications of it. I also really like the packaging of my conditioner which probably sounds weird but I just like the shape and size of the bottle.

I've washed my hair a few times since dyeing it and unlike my last dye I don't get a ton of product disappearing down the drain every time I use shampoo. Also the colour has barely faded at all and like they claim, my hair looks very shiny and well cared for. I also haven't had my hair breaking and falling out as much as with past products.

All in all so far I absolutely love this dye and will be repurchasing it even though in the past I've basically just gone for whatever is cheapest at the time!

I will update in about a month to let people know how well the colour is lasting in my hair. I have high hopes that the 28 shampoo claim is true!

Tips: Put some form of moisturizer around your face and ears to help the stop the dye from getting all over your skin.
