Do You Look For Vegan Products?

The new GARNIER ORGANICS range isn't available in NZ yet, but we've got our hands on it.  ALL OF IT.  And we'll be recruiting 4 different trial teams to each put various products to the test.

Fun fact time - The majority of the Beauty Crew are Vegetarian.  One of us is Vegan.  Me, I've been a Vegetarian since birth, my Mummy doesn't like cooking meat and so I grew up meat-free, and it stuck.

All of the Garnier Organics products have Vegan ingredients, and it got me to wondering - is this an important factor in beauty products for other people?  People make dietary choices for many reasons - health, beliefs or convenience - but do they extend their choices to the beauty products they choose?

And if you're not Vegan or Vegetarian, what do you think when buying a product that carries the V-leaf?  Do you feel they're a softer, kinder choice to your skin and the environment?  Or does it makes no difference to your feelings towards a product?

We're putting the Garnier Organic Cornflower Micellar Water  to the test.  This micellar water is enriched with organic cornflower and barley water to cleanse and nourish the skin.  It promises to remove waterproof and longwear make-up!

It is Cosmos Organic certified by Soil Association according to COSMOS standard.  The Cornflower has been specifically selected by Garnier and sourced with respect for biodiversity.  It comes from France where it is organically produced.  The bottle contains 100% recycled plastic and is 100% recyclable.

So if you'd like to put this product to the test, tell us - do you pay particular attention to the ingredients in the product and whether they compliment your dietary choices?  Are you a Vegan or Vegetarian and do you struggle to find products that work with you, and fit in with your beliefs?

As a vegetarian, I do not particularly look for a vegan status as I like milk and honey etc. I do however check for animal welfare

Vegan or vegetarian is something I’m particularly concerned about but I do think it’s good for the environment and I am trying a more plant based diet

I’m becoming a lot more conscious of the need to embrace the vegan lifestyle. I would love to see how my skin reacts to this product!

Vegan products are not something I have ever thought to look our for but I'm definitely open to trying them and this range sounds & looks amazing. I would love the opportunity to try these on my mid 40s sensitive skin.

Vegan products are not something that I usually look for, however I've been getting a lot more ingredient-conscious with my skincare lately, and this looks like it might just do the trick!

I look for anything with less chemicals and additives - not necessarily vegan though. I grow Cornflowers in my garden (do you know they come in all sort of colours pink, blue, purple?).I have never actually tried Micellar Water - so this would be a world of new tries for a just over 50 skin!

I try my best to go for vegan products, and this sounds like something I'd definitely use!!

I am a huge believer in reading the labels on anything that goes in or on your body! I tend to go organic and vegan where possible. I am not vegan, but I don’t like using products tested on animals. I tend to try use organic where possible, majority of my home products (for cleaning and for showering) are organic!

I'm not a practicing vegan but like to make good choices when it comes to buying products for my skincare that are easier on the environment and don't condone animal testing. I'd love to try this product as the prior micellar water products I've tried, I've been disappointed with.

I am neither Vegan nor Vegetarian but sure no I do not like the thought of a meat based product to apply to my skin nor animal tested products. I do believe in natures products for my skin though and if plant based I get excited. Would love to be a part of this trial team.

I love Vegan products for my skin, I prefer to buy only Vegan or products free from animal cruelty / testing. Have yet to find a good Micellar that works for me and actually makes my face feel fresh.

I'm not vegan (I tried it for a wee while and I missed cheese too much!) but I do like products that are, as it means no animals could have been harmed in any which way which is something I feel quite strongly about. I love seeing more and more vegan products on the market, and a vegan range by a big brand would be amazing to try!

I think vegetarian and vegan skincare is so important! Not only for our skin but also for the environment and preventing animal cruelty. I definitely look out for these kinds of products but I find they normally come at a much higher price point. I would love to try this micellar water as it seems like the perfect product to replace my makeup removers with, that comes guilt free!

I don't specifically look for vegan products but love any product with organic and natural ingredients. Garnier is a favourite brand and I love the look of this new micellar water, the packaging is lovely. My skin is sensitive at times so natural ingredients are a plus, and the bottle is recyclable which is great. Would love to try this.
