Do You Look For Vegan Products?

The new GARNIER ORGANICS range isn't available in NZ yet, but we've got our hands on it.  ALL OF IT.  And we'll be recruiting 4 different trial teams to each put various products to the test.

Fun fact time - The majority of the Beauty Crew are Vegetarian.  One of us is Vegan.  Me, I've been a Vegetarian since birth, my Mummy doesn't like cooking meat and so I grew up meat-free, and it stuck.

All of the Garnier Organics products have Vegan ingredients, and it got me to wondering - is this an important factor in beauty products for other people?  People make dietary choices for many reasons - health, beliefs or convenience - but do they extend their choices to the beauty products they choose?

And if you're not Vegan or Vegetarian, what do you think when buying a product that carries the V-leaf?  Do you feel they're a softer, kinder choice to your skin and the environment?  Or does it makes no difference to your feelings towards a product?

We're putting the Garnier Organic Cornflower Micellar Water  to the test.  This micellar water is enriched with organic cornflower and barley water to cleanse and nourish the skin.  It promises to remove waterproof and longwear make-up!

It is Cosmos Organic certified by Soil Association according to COSMOS standard.  The Cornflower has been specifically selected by Garnier and sourced with respect for biodiversity.  It comes from France where it is organically produced.  The bottle contains 100% recycled plastic and is 100% recyclable.

So if you'd like to put this product to the test, tell us - do you pay particular attention to the ingredients in the product and whether they compliment your dietary choices?  Are you a Vegan or Vegetarian and do you struggle to find products that work with you, and fit in with your beliefs?

I didn;t know you could get vegan micellar water. I don't know what is in it but it sounds healthy. Micellar water is the best and I always use it sparingly when I shouldn't. It is such a good way to clear your skin of make up and daily debris. It is like magic. I wonder if this one compares to my current one. Would like to try it.

I’m not vegan, but I do try to cook vegan food more often these days than I used to as it’s better for the planet and better for my health. And it’s for those reasons I am drawn to the V-leaf in beauty products too, although I’m ashamed to say I’m definitely a ‘part-timer’ in that area too. So I like a mix of vegan and non-vegan, but would be keen to give this a go because it’s organically produced in France, which sounds like a quality product to me!

I always make sure my products are cruelty free however a vegan product is always a bonus!

I do pay attention to ingredients, and vegan option is something I am interested in. I wonder what the difference is with the other Garnier Micelar Water.

I do and I have a good mix of vegan and non-vegan products, but they all have to be cruelty free too.

I'm not vegan but I love natural products, this looks interesting!

I’m vegan and so I do look out for vegan skincare and makeup brands/formulas as much as I can. It’s great to see more brands making vegan formulas! I’d love to give this new range a try

I am someone who is becoming more and more aware of where my food and beauty products come from... Although I am not exclusively vegan I am proactively trying to make better choices for the environment xxx

I am not vegan but as someone who suffers from seboric dermatitis, I do look at shampoos and conditioner to make sure they're are as chemical free as possible and when I think of vegan products I think natural, no nasty etc and I would love to try these hair products to see if they're suitable for my scalp.

I have been pescatarian for 8 months after learning more about the environmental impact of meat and animal products. I am slowly moving towards a vegan diet and this has definitely extended to other areas of my life, such as skincare and makeup. For me the environmental impact is my main motivation, as well as animal welfare!

I haven't proactively looked for vegan and organic products but after reading this article I will be looking out for them when I'm shopping. Now that I'm in my 40's my skin is starting to show how tired I am. I would love to see if this product is softer and kinder to my skin. Being a mum of 3 beautiful girls I look for supermarket options that will be suitable for them as well.

I've never tried or looked at vegan products but am interested

No , never look for Vegan products as they are normally more expensive
