Do You Look For Vegan Products?

The new GARNIER ORGANICS range isn't available in NZ yet, but we've got our hands on it.  ALL OF IT.  And we'll be recruiting 4 different trial teams to each put various products to the test.

Fun fact time - The majority of the Beauty Crew are Vegetarian.  One of us is Vegan.  Me, I've been a Vegetarian since birth, my Mummy doesn't like cooking meat and so I grew up meat-free, and it stuck.

All of the Garnier Organics products have Vegan ingredients, and it got me to wondering - is this an important factor in beauty products for other people?  People make dietary choices for many reasons - health, beliefs or convenience - but do they extend their choices to the beauty products they choose?

And if you're not Vegan or Vegetarian, what do you think when buying a product that carries the V-leaf?  Do you feel they're a softer, kinder choice to your skin and the environment?  Or does it makes no difference to your feelings towards a product?

We're putting the Garnier Organic Cornflower Micellar Water  to the test.  This micellar water is enriched with organic cornflower and barley water to cleanse and nourish the skin.  It promises to remove waterproof and longwear make-up!

It is Cosmos Organic certified by Soil Association according to COSMOS standard.  The Cornflower has been specifically selected by Garnier and sourced with respect for biodiversity.  It comes from France where it is organically produced.  The bottle contains 100% recycled plastic and is 100% recyclable.

So if you'd like to put this product to the test, tell us - do you pay particular attention to the ingredients in the product and whether they compliment your dietary choices?  Are you a Vegan or Vegetarian and do you struggle to find products that work with you, and fit in with your beliefs?

Yes! This is fantastic. I’ve been a vegetarian for 23 years and am transitioning to a vegan diet. I am constantly on the look out for vegan friendly products and am so overjoyed for the movement towards vegan products and cruelty free lines. It’s the only way for a modern company to move in my opinion. Can’t wait to see this on the shelves!

Yes! These look so intriguing and so much better that they don’t use animal products - super keen to try

I think the organic claim stands out more to me in this product than the vegan as I am looking for more organic products

It's not something I've ever thought about when it comes to beauty products. I have cut down on meat in my diet (just a little bit, I live with carnivores who think salad is a bad word) just to see if it makes a difference in my overall health.

I've never even thought about vegan being a thing for beauty products. Obviously I look for not tested on animals (is anything even tested on them any more?) But vegan? Not as yet

Its not something i look for but i am trying to be more conscientious with my choices for skin care and diet. Its great to know these sort of products are now being produced and marketed right. Would love to try :)

I didn't realize that other micellar products aren't animal free or are they? Organic does sound kinder to nature particularly being plant based. This does sound refreshing, I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but will look forward to reading the reviews.

I'm a vegan most of the time (easter eggs are coming tho :( ) and i would consider buying vegan products. I like lots of the natural and NZ made products but I'm looking getting more strict with products including making my own.

With skincare I’m very into natural and organic products and products with animal components definitely turn me off them. With cosmetics I tend to just use what performs.

Oh.. looks very refreshing already.. Since it’s vegan, it should be free of any animal or bee-related products. For me it probably would be environmental friendly.. and free from any animal cruelty. Probably similar to natural products but without any animal-based ingredients? No. I’m not vegan, but would love to have a go at this trial.

I'm not vegan or vegetarian but love trying new things to see if they work!!

Lets do a shout out to garnier for this little beaut! Even if i dont get on the trial i will find this and purchase it. Im pescatarian and love being able to make more conscious choices in aspects of my life. I love micellar water and the fact there is somethinf even better excites me. I am currently using the garnier product that is suitable for contact lenses and would love to see how this compares!!

2nd February, 2020

I'm not vegan or vegetarian so I don't specifically look for these labels, but when I come across them, I'm usually more favourable to trying the product because it seems better for the environment and my skin.

I have become far more aware of what's in food and certainly it is time that interest expanded to what we put on our skin! There have been "natural" products around for years and yet how confident can we be unless we read those labels? I would love to try this Garnier micellar water with its carefully chosen ingredients and I have used Garnier's general micellar water previously so a comparison would be ideal.

This looks great I’m going to have to hunt this down
