Do You Look For Vegan Products?

The new GARNIER ORGANICS range isn't available in NZ yet, but we've got our hands on it.  ALL OF IT.  And we'll be recruiting 4 different trial teams to each put various products to the test.

Fun fact time - The majority of the Beauty Crew are Vegetarian.  One of us is Vegan.  Me, I've been a Vegetarian since birth, my Mummy doesn't like cooking meat and so I grew up meat-free, and it stuck.

All of the Garnier Organics products have Vegan ingredients, and it got me to wondering - is this an important factor in beauty products for other people?  People make dietary choices for many reasons - health, beliefs or convenience - but do they extend their choices to the beauty products they choose?

And if you're not Vegan or Vegetarian, what do you think when buying a product that carries the V-leaf?  Do you feel they're a softer, kinder choice to your skin and the environment?  Or does it makes no difference to your feelings towards a product?

We're putting the Garnier Organic Cornflower Micellar Water  to the test.  This micellar water is enriched with organic cornflower and barley water to cleanse and nourish the skin.  It promises to remove waterproof and longwear make-up!

It is Cosmos Organic certified by Soil Association according to COSMOS standard.  The Cornflower has been specifically selected by Garnier and sourced with respect for biodiversity.  It comes from France where it is organically produced.  The bottle contains 100% recycled plastic and is 100% recyclable.

So if you'd like to put this product to the test, tell us - do you pay particular attention to the ingredients in the product and whether they compliment your dietary choices?  Are you a Vegan or Vegetarian and do you struggle to find products that work with you, and fit in with your beliefs?

I’m starting to pay a lot more attention to product ingredients. I have in general in the past but it’s even more important to me now. I prefer a vegetarian diet and was a vegetarian for many years. I tend to eat far more vegetables than meat and it’s exciting to see more vegan products on the market. These news ones look really interesting. Would love to trial them.

Don't generally look at product ingredients but this would appear as a good choice with it saying organic.

I've never really paid alot of attention until recently, it's just about being informed I reckon. I'm no vegan or vegetarian and it must be awesome for those that are to have options in skin care (something I never really thought about). I like simple, basic, natural products that aren't too busy. Micellar water has been my best friend this summer, a little on a cotton pad straight from the fridge. My hand up to trial this one for sure :)

Vegan is not something I have previously prioritised but is something I am becoming increasingly interested in. Would love to try these out as my first step into the world of vegan beauty.

I’ve started to try to use either organic and or vegan products lately as I have started to see great results from a couple of hair products I’ve been using, plus it’s got to be better for your skin. I’d love to try this product!

I dont look for Vegan products but with the new awareness growing and all the hype about it I am starting to take notice. However I am very concerned about chemicals in products so I do carefully read the labels. I like Garnier Micellar Water so a new version would be a delight to trial.

I'm making the transition to become vegetarian. When buying products I make a more conscious effort to try and look at the label to see what is in it and where it has come from. This sounds like a perfect start for my skin

Im not vegan or vegetarian but I definitely eat a lot less meat these days. I think its great to have this option for people that do have these dietary needs but it wouldn't put me off using them if they do what they say they will. Im looking forward to trying this product

Have heard fantastic things about micellar water, so would really love to try this. Would be great during our extremely hot summer too. Love the fact that it is vegan and the bottle can be recycled :)

I would love to try this as I find it hard to find a product that easily removes make-up and doesn't dry or over moisturise my skin. I also love that this product is vegan and that the bottle is 100% recycled and recyclable.

I'm a committed vegetarian and will always choose the organic, environmentally friendly option if at all possible, in both packaging and contents. Obviously anything I buy ideally aligns and resonates with my worldview and passions. BUT it IS a real struggle. There are more and more great options in this area, but there's still much less choice than there should be. AND - a biggie - so often I find these 'all-natural plant-based' products just don't do the business. Generally it seems to be a problem with texture... So, yeah, I'd love to try this and see if it's one of those rare beauties that actually works well. I love the recycled and recyclable packaging - a huge plus in my book.

I'm not a vegetarian but I do look to buy vegan beauty products as I have allergies.

4th February, 2020

I would love to try this product! I'm vegan, gluten free, and allergic to onions (so would love to try something I''m not allergic to - Cornflower!)

4th February, 2020

As I am a vegetarian, I am cautious of what I use, whether it is skin care or makeup, I use products that are more natural and plant based. I would love to try this product.
