About Me I'm a Mum of two lovely grown up kids, Nana of a beautiful little girl, animal lover, have a Border Collie cross called Jaspa. Always on the look-out for a bargain, am rapt when I get a good skin-care or make-up deal. I'm always looking for a soothing eye cream & moisturiser. I am finding the reviews very helpful.

Living Nature Concealer

I really liked this product which thrilled me since I’m very much into organic and natural skincare and make up. I got this as a nice big sample from my local store and it has lasted well and is on my list to now buy the full sized product when I next need a concealer.

Now, I am used to using concealer sticks which is why I wanted to sample it first and this product was definitely a different experience.

This concealer is more like a foundation, it is liquidy, although this one was thicker and more creamy than many foundations, in fact I would be tempted to use it as a foundation but then I don’t think the bottle would last that long.

The tube it was in had a narrow nozzle on the end which reduced the amount of product that could come out which made the liquidy product less likely to go everywhere when you only wanted to put it on your nosed. The tip was then covered by a screw on top. The tube was a black opaque plastic tube which possibly may preserve the product by blocking sunlight.

On applying it, it was smooth and creamy on the skin and had good coverage that did a decent job at concealing the dark spots, uneven skin tone etc.

Being organic the concealer also felt very nice on the skin and lasted a standard amount of time. The only thing I found I had to watch out for is that I had to let my concealer dry before applying foundation which is undesirable when you’re in a rush. Otherwise it was brilliant.

It was lovely. Natural products always feel so much nicer on the skin/

I am always looking for a good concealer, this sounds good, will have to try it.

Thank you :) I was really pleased that for a natural product it stood up so well against the chemically enhanced products.

This sounds lovely- very keen to try this soon. Great review.

Eco tan

When i noticed this in the last beauty vault i was excited and new i needed it. I havent used a fake tan moisturiser since i was in high school and i dont have very good memories. I remeber my legs looking orange and feeling like a oompa loompa.

This comes in a brown soft squeezy bottle, which is easy to squeeze out the rite amount of moisturiser that you need. The moisturiser its self is a nice light brown colour and is quite a thick consistancy which is great that you dont feel like its just sliding off yot hand.

I was a little nervious to apply more coats to my legs (even tho the bottle says you can add more than one application) I just didnt want to be orange, But i sucked it up and added 3x applications and woohoo i ddint turn orange! It just added a little more colour to my legs.

Over all I really like it but i would like to see a bit more colour come from this.

Best Friends Forever

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !! Love love love the winter skin lotion! Without a shadow of a doubt the best fake tan I have ever used! Yes it takes a few days application to give the desired tan (which I thought would be annoying, but wasn't!) but it comes out looking really natural and even. Feels really nice on the skin NOT STICKY like a lot of other fake tan lotions. And smells really really nice, not that typical "fake tan" smell! I am well and truly addicted to winter skin!

Tips: I often use it on my face at night so that in the morning I won't need to apply a bb cream or foundation, just to have enough coverage over my redness but still leaving my face looking natural.

I am going to try this one now based on the good reviews. I have always been wary of fake tanning products because of the orange factor, but this sounds really good.

Good to hear it works on your face too.

Soooooo good

I love this product!!! It smells amazing!! And it does such a great job with greasy hair! Im a new blonde so I try not to wash my hair daily but my hair gets greasy very fast by all the treatments I need to use to get my dry hair healthy. So on my between days I use a couple seconds worth of spray on my roots then I just rustle my fingers through my hair and not only does it make my hair look clean but it lightens up the colour as well.

This product is a steal for the price and I am defiantly always repurchasing.

Tips: Use a little as perfume. Smells too good to be used once in a while.

I need a dry shampoo so am going to try this.

Fantastic Anti-Ageing Product

This delicately honey scented product is one of four of their products I have to hand at the moment. They all work together beautifully as part of the Apicare anti-ageing range which I used for a week or so recently.

It’s white with a rich medium consistency and it’s absorbed into the skin super fast. It’s suitable for both day and night and contains some key anti-ageing ingredients, including Shea Butter to lock in the moisture and hyaluronic acid for even more moisturising qualities.

It’s really good value for $29.90 for a 90g tube I think. If I weren’t trying new skincare products I would probably opt use this range over the winter. It applies really well and there is no greasy sheen left because it’s so quickly absorbed and instantly hydrates the skin.

All their product packaging is environmentally sound and recyclable and the tubes come with a silver seal over the top so you know you’re getting a fresh product.

Tips: Pop into Life Pharmacy and ask if they have some samples. I was given four samples of different products from their range in either 15mg or 25gm tubes. A very generous size indeed.

Vanilla Goodness

I received this as a gift after surgery and absolutely love it!

I have dry skin, especially on my hands and around my cuticles so I go through a lot of hand creams and this is one of my favourites.

It has a delicious sweet (but not sickly) vanilla scent and is thick and nourishing on the hands. It soaks into the skin reasonably fast but leaves hands feeling hydrated, smooth and soft without feeling stick or greasy.

It contains some fantastic natural ingredients which have great benefits for the skin and I have seen an improvement in the dryness of my hands and cuticles whilst using this.

It isn't the cheapest hand cream around but is reasonably inexpensive. It is high quality and delivers the results I want so to me this is value for money.

I would recommend this to all and will definitely repurchase. Would make a lovely gift also (I loved receiving this).

Tips: Apply regularly for soft, smooth hands.

Delectable for dry skin

I was lucky to get this product from the last beauty vault. I’m always on the lookout for a good moisturiser for dry skin, and this one is designed for dry and sensitive skin.

The tube is a little bland – more clinical than beautiful and very plain – white with blue and green print. That didn’t put me off as the tube told me the product contains NZ manuka honey and colloidal oatmeal, which sounds lovely and natural, and makes up for a plain tube right?

So the product itself is a thick cream, and as I’ve said many times, I love a thick cream moisturiser. It has a lovely scent which I couldn’t identify, so I asked my son what he thought, and he described it as reminding him of a yellow rose! Anyway, it contains lots of lovely natural ingredients so is likely a fragrance borne of a mix of gorgeous natural scents.

When applied to the skin it rubs on easily and absorbs quite well, my only criticism being that it can feel a little sticky when applied. After it has absorbed my skin feels a little waxy and soft, which I really like. Having used it for around 10 days now, I’m finding I like it more each time I use it, and I use it several times each day.

The products claim is that it repairs dry, sensitive skin and supports the skins protective barrier with naturally moisturizing colloidal oatmeal and New Zealand manuka honey. It certainly does do what it says it does.

For $14.99 for the 150ml tube, this product is great value, and I would certainly recommend it to others to try.

Tips: Just try it - it's a great investment.

Even softer than the other Simple wipes

I bought these wipes from Countdown when they were on sale for around the same price as the Simple Kind to Skin Facial Wipes (which I religiously buy), so decided to give these a go.

I find these wipes even softer than the other type, and remove makeup just as well. I use a different eye makeup remover, but this still removes the hard to get stuck on mascara :) I think these wipes are aimed more at the older market, however at 23 I find they keep my face soft, even if I don't moisturise, and have made a huge difference in reducing impurities in my skin. I'll be keeping an eye out for these wipes because they are definitely worth a couple more dollars than the other ones as they just feel much softer, more gentle and are perfect for sensitive skin.

These wipes sound perfect for my skin, I am in the older age bracket and my skin is sensitive, must have a look next time I go to the supermarket.

Loving it more than BB Creams!!

I found this by accident while buying the Aveeno Moisturiser for my husband and was instantly draw in by the 'TINTED' part of the name. I am a lover and user of BB cream on the days that I don't want to wear a full face of makeup but want coverage, The price is quite similar to other BB creams so it didn't phase me that it was a small bottle with a big price. I am not overly excited about Aveeno branding and design even on any other the other products. I do however love the pump bottle nozzle it has because it makes it easier to get the correct amount rather than waste it. But to me it's usually what is inside that counts most.

The texture is quite creamy and looks just like any other BB cream I have tried but even more creamy. I got mine in medium shade to match my skin tone. I do find that if I don't use it for a couple of days that the cream dries in the pump nozzle and you get a hard piece of cream before the good cream comes out which to me is a waste of product and very frustrating.

I tend to apply mine with a foundation sponge. It gives me even coverage and no streaks which for me is a problem if I use my fingers or a brush. The coverage is quite good, like any other BB cream. It's great for everyday wear because it's a moisturiser, BB cream and has sun protection who wouldn't want all that in a cream?? I know I love it! I do find that the smell is a tad off putting but is a small con compared to the pros that it has. I used to be a Garnier BB girl but I am totally converted to Aveeno now.

Tips: Apply with a foundation sponge it gives even coverage and no streaks

Oasis Beauty Lips and Lashes Review

Lips n lashes

In a pump application bottle. It's cute. Has a natural scent of calendula and primrose. A pure white cream and very thin liquidity. Unlike the day creams. It comes out a lot so half a pump is sufficient amount for the lashes and lips. Half a pump ensures a longer life span of product. I put this on at night. It has done wonders I already have long thick lashes but noticed that they needed help. Age and mascara wearing out my naturally thick lashes. I can say this product has reinstated the lustrous look of my lashes. They're looking fuller longer stronger and more thicker. I think this on my lips works as a plumper as my lips have become fuller. I knew I already had full fat lips but this has done some more to them. I am continuing to purchase this product. My lashes look young again and I have been using on the eye contour without any side effects.

Tips: Be careful when applying around the eye area if you want regrowth to brows then it's for you but when doing ur brow routine and applying it to the brow area it does speed up the growth of hair.

MrsO you are welcome. I'm certain you'll be pleased with the use of this product. At first it takes a few pumps for it to come out due to the pressure and air but once using I advise a half pump is sufficient the cream spreads very well. Enjoy

Thanks for the informative review. I am going to try this, I am always looking for a good eye cream and lip salve, so this sounds ideal, and the lashes bit is a bonus too.
