Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub Review

I won this product from Beauty Review so was eager to try it out. My husband and I had an at home spa evening where we pampered each other. I was pleased at how well the scrub exfoliated our skin and also how a little goes a long way. My skin feels replenished the morning after and I can't wait to make this product part of my regular routine.

This exfoliating scrub is nourishing and is not harsh to the skin. It gently exfoliates the skin removing excess product and dead skin off your face, you could definitely feel it working. Smells quite pleasant, not too over-powering. After rinsing it off, it leaves your skin smooth and nourished.

It has taken me a while to make up my mind about this product. Before I tried it I decided to finish the exfoliator I was using. I am quite particular or fussy when it comes to an exfoliator because I believe that half of those on the market probably do more damage to the skin than good. The packing is simple and convenient. The product is very thick but no problem squeezing it out of the tube and it has a very light lemony/lime fragrance which smells 'clean'. Usually the beads or exfoliating substance is what causes the damage to the skin, but the walnut pieces are not too small (in fact they are fairly large) and I don't believe they do any damage as they are well 'rounded' . The exfoliator leaves the skin feeling squeaky clean. It does not leave that tight dry feeling which is great. Yes I am impressed as it is very affordable and it appears to do the trick.

I recently added this product to my skincare routine as I tried another Skinfood product and I loved it. I really like this brand as it is NZ made and a natural product. I was on the hunt for a new exfoliater so I thought I would try this as my attitude to new products tends to lean more towards NZ made and natural products.

I really like how this makes my skin feel. I use this exfoliater after I have cleansed my skin. I use a average amount and I apply it to my face by rubbing it in circular motions all over my skin gently and then washing off with warm water. I do this 3 times a week to erase any signs of dead skin cells, excess makeup and of course clogged pores.

This makes my skin feel amazing and it's super gentle on my skin and moisturizing . I love how I actually know what is being applied to my skin and what my skin is absorbing. I'm a big fan of this product.

I have been using this exfoliating scrub from the last 4 months. It provides gentle yet effective exfoliation and I use it every week on my face. It leaves my skin feeling soft. I have a sensitive skin and i don't like scrubbing much but this scrub is an exception. It also has heaps of natural ingredients like tea tree oil, sweet almond oil, orange oil and manuka honey to name a few and the positive part is that it is paraben free.

I looovve this scrub. I get sensitive skin around the eyes so I find this scrub perfect for that reason because it's is a finer exfoliation than some others. It also leaves my face really soft likened to if I were to lather olive oil over my face (though not as oily of course). I will use this scrub again and again.

Face scrubs have always made me cringe, It reminds me of when we would go to the beach as kids and we rubbed sunscreen on ourselves, there was sand mixed in with the sun screen, sunscreen+sand= scrubs, and it took me a long time after that to even look at face scrubs let alone put them on my face.

I like how Skinfood has a simple packaging for each of it's products, it's normally white and fresh looking but I need to be 100% sure on which one I pick up incase it's the mud masque instead of the exfoliating scrub.

Squeezing this scrub onto my hands is very thick, the beads are large and rubbing this into your face isn't as bad as I imagined it to be. I like to apply this in large circular motions before going in with small circular motions working on my nose, chin and forehead.

I'm surprised with the smell of this as it smells really good, I am not a lime fan but it's very subtle and sweet, there's a hint of aloe Vera which I'm a big fan of, all the smells make a really good scent together.

Rinsing this off was harder than most scrubs I have used in the past, it has a waxy texture which makes it hard to remove ,warm water is the easiest way and be careful not to get this in your eyes.

My skin does feel softer and smoother, dry skin is gone and I'm left with a clean replenished face. I don't have the Skinfood moisturiser so I've been using the Love skin in Ti amo which moisturises my skin really well.

This is a good exfoliating scrub but I don't think I will repurchase another one when this one runs out.

This exfoliator is a great, gentle every day exfoliator and perfect for the face. The walnut shells provide the exfoliating bits and you can really feel them work into the skin and removing the dead skin. The smell is not overpowering but subtle and pleasant. Once the exfoliator is washed off the skin on my face felt so much smoother and softer that it was before the exfoliation. This is a brilliant exfoliator for the price!

I got samples of this but upon using it and feeling the benefits it has I just had to have it in my hot lil hand! I have always liked the simple clean and fresh design of the packaging and the easy to use tube. The beads are rather big and rough but it gave my face an all over buffing and left it feeling like silk. I used the Skin Food Nourishing Moisturizer afterward and my husband even complimented me on the soft feel of my skin. I like the fresh lime smell of the product because it's not too over powering and is enough to excite my senses. For the price and results I am officially hook lined and sinkered!

This thick, gritty paste comes in an easy-to-use flip-top squeeze tube and has a very subtle lime scent.

Comparing this product to my usual facial exfoliator, I found the paste to have quite large exfoliating particles and was quite rough on my skin, although it left it feeling smooth and soft. One thing I didn't like about this product was that it left a waxy feel on my skin after rinsing and as I have naturally oily skin, this wasn't very pleasant.

Because of the waxy residue and harsh exfoliating particles, I would not purchase this product again, but I would recommend it to others, as it's just a matter of personal preference whether you like the feel of it on your skin or not.

This could possibly be a great exfoliator for those with dry or combination skin types, as the waxy feeling I experienced could be from the sweet almond oil and may help to lock in moisture.
