Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub Review

I bought the Skin food scrub as part of the beauty box for mothers day and as I had used the mud masque I was pleased this was included as I am becoming a real fan of Skin Food products. This comes in the standard white box with the lovely fresh green shapes and writing which typifies Skin food products so easy to identify. Inside a nice pearly white tube with same colour effect as the carton.The top has a nice firm lift up section and a wide nozzle for the product. The product is a white smooth looking cream with a lovely mild sweet scent of honey /aloe vera and is easy to apply with of course a gritty feel when you are massaging on moist skin. the instructions on the packaging are very clear ans simple and advise all natural based and even better NZ made. I have very sensitive dry mature skin and found this product left my skin feeling clean and clear and gave a very healthy glow after using.Using a moisturizer afterwards I felt really pleased with the result. A little goes a long way and with 100mls for $14 I really feel you are getting value for money. I highly recommend this scrub and again I am really happy with the skinfood products I have tried.

I was looking for a scrub with natural exfoliants as I hadn't used one in a while and this was really affordable, picked it up from Countdown, even when it's full price its a good price but Countdown often have specials.

It doesn't feel like anything special although it has a lot of grit in a small amount of product. The main reason I keep picking it up in the shower is for the smell, takes me back to my childhood having Traffic Light Popsicles, I think it must be the lime in it mixed with the sweet scents like almond.

I was on the hunt for a face scrub that would help remove dry skin from my face as I had such a problem with it.

Asking on the forums this scrub was mentioned a couple of time and I was lucky enough to have this gifted to me to try.

The packaging was great. Sturdy cardboard box that held the tube inside. The tube the product comes in is 100ml which sits on its lid. Flick the lid open and squeeze and out comes the scrub.

On application I noticed the walnut shell which I thought was quite rough when I first applied it to my skin. Slight Aloe Vera smell.

This is how I applied and washed my face with this product and how it's helped me. Every 2nd night in the shower I placed a small amount into my hand maybe a pea sized amount sometimes a wee bit bigger, with wet hands and face I closed my eyes and rubbed it over my face (avoid the eye area). I scrubbed more in my problem areas where I have dry skin. On my chin, forehead and cheeks. after a decent scrub I rinse off with water, making sure all product has been removed from my face. The walnut shell is rough but I believe it what has helped my skin.

After my first wash my skin felt soft and clean, almost like it could breathe! I applied moisturiser after using this product but I generally do after every shower I have. The next day I didn't have dry flaky skin! And it stayed that way through out the use of the product.

Now to say it was completely flawless would be a lie, after a week of using I broke out, and I broke out for about 2 weeks but soon enough the break outs stopped. I believe that saying it gets worse before it gets better with cleansers and that's exactly what happened with this product. It is rough but I think that's what has helped remove the dead dry skin from my face.

What I plan to do now is only use this every third day as I find it's a little too much combined with my other skin care.

This product has worked for me and I have re purchased and will continue to do so, it leaves my skin clean and smooth and help with my makeup application. Thank you BR babes for the suggestions and for the lovely lady who gifted it for me to try :)

Price wise? I picked it up from the warehouse for $9 on special!

I recieved this product to review for my YouTube channel and the first thing I noticed when using this product was that it smells amazing! It smells like lime and I love how this company's products are all natural based! The actual scrub bit is almonds which I wouldn't recommend for people with very sensitive skin however it leaves your skin feeling very soft.

It has a thicker consistency then the exfoliaters I usually use but I don't think this makes much of a difference in my opinion. It comes off very easily with warm water and the result of this scrub was fantastic! I would defiantly recommend this!

I needed a new scrub and saw this on sale. Having liked the mud masque from this range I thought I'd give this a go. The scent is a citrus sort of scent probably due to the orange and lime oil. I do like that this has natural ingredients like sweet almond oil, aloe vera, manuka honey, cucumber and rosemary extract, tea tree oil and sunflower seed oil. It didn't dry out my skin either. And it's quite affordable. No plastic beads in it which makes it good for those going green. The thing that ruins this for me though is that it's pretty rough, the walnut shell feels really scratchy on my skin. I guess this is good if you want a really good scrubby scrub as it's quite affordable but personally I would prefer something much more gentle as this left micro tears in my skin and left it feeling slightly irritated and sensitized. I think I'll re purpose this as a hand scrub. It was on sale so not a huge loss.

Love this! This comes in the standard white and green skinfood packaging which for me I like as it is simple. I love that it is made in NZ and is made of natural ingrediants!

I usually use St Ives scrub but decided to give this a go. I have really sensitive and dry skin. Have had no irritation at all since using this, has made a huge difference to my skin, scrubs away all my dry patches perfectly. Feels so soft and smooth afterwards. I use in the morning and at night.

Great for anyone looking for a more natural product. Really cheap but effective and available at most supermarkets.

I really love the natural and gentle way in which the Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub cleanses my skin. It does a thorough job and really works well to penetrate the skin to get rid of impurities without over drying or irritating. My skin is very sensitive yet prone to breakouts and many exfoliators I tried before irritated it so I had to discontinue using them. This product is by far the best exfoliating scrub I've ever tried.

I have sensitive, problem skin which can easily flare up if I'm not careful. I won this product through BR and was a little reluctant to try it at first. However, I really enjoy using this exfoliating scrub. It has a delicious smell and leaves my skin feeling soft and well cleansed without any issues. I've already recommended it to my friends. The only issue....where do I get some more? I've been looking but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I received this Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub in the last Beauty Review Beauty Box and was excited to try it. It came in a soft tube with a flip top lid which is easy to use in the shower. At first I was not sure if it was for my face or body so I first tried it on my face. I liked the texture of this scrub but I found the pieces in it were a bit too harsh for my face. In saying that, it left my face feeling soft and looking fresh. I tried it over my body and really enjoyed the result. As with my face, my skin was left feeling fresh and tingly. I found it nice and moist and non drying. I decided it was more for my body than my face and was happy with that choice.
