About Me I am the most random geeky girl you will ever meet! I am obsessed with Disney videos and watch them as much as I can. I am a huuuuge fan of true crime books and 50 shades of grey. I love sugar skulls, owls and anything Ancient Egyptian. I love to sing and shake my butt and have a good time. As part of my new makeover recently I am getting more in touch with my girly side and am loving makeup oh so much right now or anything beauty related really so am in the process of trying new things and using BR as an informed decision. I am covered head to toe in tattoos and I am ok that people look......I mean people are gunna stare anyway so give them something beautiful to see :D

Brilliant Silver White Hair Toner Review

Saved me from a brassy nightmare

I got this in a recent BR beauty vault. I had been on the lookout for a toner that would work and be better for my hair. This popped up so I jumped at the opportunity to have it in my life. It wasn't at all what I expected in a good way.

It comes in a cute white and purple box. Inside is two compartments separated by cardboard. On one side is the instructions and information leaflet and the other is a tiny bottle that reminds me of an eye drop bottle. I thought to myself how can something so small possibly last more than one application and do anything to my head of hair? Moving on....

What also surprised me is that you use drops of it mixed in warm water. How could something watered down and tipped on your hair possibly tone my hair? Lucky for me the instructions are very detailed and take you step by step through the process. I used 25 drops because my hair was a brassy nightmare, hence the title. The colour of the toner is of course a purple which matches every other toner I have seen out there. To avoid possible staining I wore an old towel around my shoulders and slowly tipped the toner in to my hair making sure I got full coverage. Beforehand I washed and towel dried my hair in prep for the toner. What amazes me is how I leave it in and just dry and style as normal! No washing out which is easier and faster for me.

I noticed a big difference in the tone of my hair. It was no longer an ugly yellow brassy colour, it was more blonde. I can now feel comfortable in the fact that the red dye will take so much better than it would with a brass colour. It was very vibrant and amazing. My hair felt very soft afterwards which was awesome considering every other toner I have used is a wash out shampoo and strips my hair of any moisture whatsoever.

I love that even though it's a small bottle it has many applications in it because you literally only use a few drops. As my hair got light each time I bleached it, I needed less toner each time. I have so far gotten 5 applications out of it so I am impressed. If you dislike the shampoo toner like I do, then please do give this a go. It makes your hair feel really good along with removing all those yellow tones that are the bane of a bleached blondes existence.

Tips: Read instructions very carefully and use the correct amount

Lush Rose Queen Bath Bomb Review

Just Rosey

I got this baby as a birthday gift from a friend. She knew how much I loved Rose Jam so thought I might like a rose scented bath bomb. It is very girly and pretty when you first lay eyes on it. It is a light pink colour with dried flower petals sticking out every so often. It definitely smells of roses but not as sweet as Rose Jam. I am not usually a fan of rose scents so for that reason I am not really excited about it. But forward I go incase I fall in love.

I put it in the bath and it fizzes to reveal a rosey pink colour which is lighter than the colour of the bomb itself. Once all the fizz dispersed I was left with dried flower petals all through my bath and the scent of roses which was actually quite pleasant.....shock! After 10 minutes in the bath I got over the smell and it became nauseating. The petals stuck everywhere and was actually more annoying than anything. I don't really know what purpose they serve to be honest. They brought the experience of the bath down three notches instantly. I had to hand pick them out and dispose of them which was time consuming and annoying.

The bomb itself did not end up being friends with my skin. I am usually left smooth and velvety after a lush bath but this one left it squeaky and dry feeling. I was not impressed with it as a whole. It does have good points but the bad outweigh those. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase nor would I recommend it to anyone unless they adored rose scents and having floating petal islands in their bath water.

Tips: If you don't want to spend a while picking petals out of a tub, do not proceed!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation - Combination/Oily Review

Worth my $40 all day everyday!

I found this last year in the local chemist. I asked the retail assistant for her advice on a good coverage foundation for combination skin. I wanted something light weight but still able to hide all my imperfections whilst still looking natural. After noting all my desires she quickly pointed me in the direction of Revlon Colour-Stay. She gave me a small pot of three colours to use so I could find the perfect or closest match. I ended up going with medium beige. After trying them all I found that I have been using a shade or two lighter in every foundation which is why people comment that I look pale. Ah-ha moment!

The price at first made me hold my breath when I swiped my card but it was what I had to do to get my much needed foundation. The bottle is a little less pretty than I am used to with my foundations. But as they say you can't judge a book by its cover. It's what is on the inside that counts. It is cylindrical and simple yet chic.

The foundation itself is very smooth and creamy. It comes out of the pump bottle very easily, with no clogging. I use a brush to apply to my face in dabs then use my beauty blender to give it a flawless look and no streaks.

The foundation blends almost effortlessly. I find that I use far less product than most other foundations because a small bit goes along way. Especially when using a blender. The coverage is exactly as promised. It is medium to full which is what I was after. The best part is it feels as though I have no makeup on, it's just that lightweight.

The true test will be if it lasts a full day in summer when I am walking around and sweating alot. I am pleasantly surprised by just how longwearing this foundation is. Although it has some wear, especially on my cheeks and forehead; it is for the most part in tact. I am impressed. Who knew a brand like Revlon could outlast other higher end brands like this and give better coverage to boot. The combination type foundation is perfect for my dry and oily patches skin. It doesn't make me look like an oil slick but still gives me a glow so my dry parts don't stick out. Gimmie moooore!

Tips: Use a primer to give it a flawless base

So glad you love it too Kim :D

I agree with all that you say Shana, I use this foundation a lot and love it.

More like a moisturizer!

I got this in my mystery box from the beauty vault and was mega excited to try my first ever primer!! I washed my face before hand to give the primer as clean a canvas as I could and applied it as I would a moisturizer. I let it dry and my skin felt like a silk sheet! So soft and supple so I was excited to see if it would give me the smooth canvas I needed to get an even coverage of my makeup.

I found that my foundation was patchy and uneven which in never usually is despite my dry flaky skin. I tried it again but this time I exfoliated my face and did a peel mask to rid myself of any flaky skin or patchiness. It was a little more even but still quite patchy in areas.

I have used it a few times since still finding the same results and even to the point of having comments that I didn't blend my makeup well enough when I know I did. It was both embarrassing and annoying because I usually have near flawless makeup.

The tube is quite small for the price considering I used a bit to try and get even coverage over my face and neck. The design is simple but effective and I like that the word AGELESS is in red and bold because it draws my eye to it straight away being specific for aging people.

The smell is quite pleasant and I love that it has organic rosehip oil in it because rosehip oil has done wonders on my skin of late. But because it's more of an expensive moisturizer I will pass on using it as a primer and not buy it unfortunately.

Tips: Exfoliate face first to get the best condition skin possible

Thanks Maree. It's a shame because I wanted to love it

Oh! and great tip to exfoliate first!

I agree Shana, I think it is a good moisturiser but not quite the primer for me.

LUSH Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream Review

I just had a shower in stomach bile!!

I have to get this off my chest first, this cream reminded me of that bright yellow bile you get sometimes when you are sick. I was standing there in the shower being reminded of a few of those old party girl days when you had that sneaky spew in the shower hahaha not the best first impression.

The scent I really didn't mind, I'm not familiar with Yuzu so can't say either way if it was present, but it certainly didn't smell like chocolate oranges to me. I can definitely get that coco butter smell with something nice & citrus.

Does it do what it said it would?...well considering LUSH don't have any specific claims on how this product should work then I'm going to have to just say that I officially prefer gels after using this. I found the cream too thin to be effective for anything other than splattering all over my shower even when added to a cloth (this could be different with a puff) and almost no lathering up but I know this is not common for creams. Also I don't feel as if my skin feels anymore soft or smoother than normal

So over all would I repurchase? Nah most likely not, although I will use what I have but I am glad I got this via the vault and not brought in store. It's just not for me, although it does smell and feel refreshing.

Tips: Be prepared for a messy bright shower

Was this review useful to you? Yes No

I think Yuzu is supposed to be a relative of a lemon, I think. But then again I've never seen one either, only in perfumes.

Haha oh gosh, I have this and haven't used it yet but I'm going to be thinking about nothing but stomach bile now! Good tip about the shower puff/loofah.

Great review hehe stomach bile! Yeah it's not my fave from lush either

Yikes, thanks for the tip off. Great review!

Updated: when used with a shower puff there is certainly more of a lather, which was nice.

My Mystery solved!

The desire to solve a mystery and see what it contains is what keeps me intrigued. Of course when I saw a mystery box in the BR Beauty Vault, I needed it in my life. I needed to solve the mystery that is the BR Mystery Box. I finally got my chance to do so.

For no money, except postage and 600 points of course its value for money or in this case points. $60 worth of products in one place has sooo many possiblities the mind boggles!

In my mystery box I found......Pantene dry shampoo which was my first ever dry shampoo, TICK! Ro Vie Lipgloss which was such a gorgeous colour, TICK! Tailor day cream, TICK! I was so impressed by my haul of which I normally would never even think to buy. It meant that I got to try things that were out of my radar and all which I was excited to try.

Value for money is massive when it comes to a BR mystery box. I would get one again and again no questions asked. I think its not just the products that draw me in but the thought of getting a surprise that has me sold.

Tips: If you get a chance to get one from the vault....jump on it. They are worth it!

It eould be amazing they are so worth it

It would be awesome if BBBE did a mystery box too!

Aww I hope they bring back these mystery boxes. What a sweet surprise of products there. I love a mystery

L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Hair Oil

Extraordinarily goood

I bought this L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Hair Oil to see if it would, a) make a big difference to my hair, b) was worth the fuss and c) if it outdid all other brands of hair oil I have tried. For $19.99 or $20 like I paid, I expect optimum results! I am used to only paying $10 tops for a hair oil so this was a stretch for my budget conscious self.

What caught my eye was the packaging. The luxurious gold glass bottle with the gold pump top. The gold looking oil in it just made it one complete gorgeous package. The gold gave it that 'I'm number one, buy me' look. If I see luxury I expect luxury performance. For the price I do admit that it is alot bigger than most hair oils I have bought so that's a bonus. I usually wash my hair and run this oil through my hair afterwards to give it the kick of life it needs. But recently I have found that running it through fry hair works just as well, if not better.

Now I have used a heaps of hair oils and serums but none really stacked up to this gem. The packaging almost suits what I think of it. It's GOLD! The consistency is velvety smooth but not overly oily. It doesn't leave my hair greasy looking like other oils have. It gives it a sheen or a shine rather than a thick layer of oil. Over the day the oil soaks in to my hair leaving is very soft and it actually helps with styling it because it makes it behave better.

I have damaged hair from years of bleaching but this seems to take all that damage away and give it that 'hair flick and pose' feeling. If you like to style but don't like the hard crunchy feeling styling products give you, I suggest using this instead. It tames those frizzy bits and weaves them in amongst the rest of your hair.

The only reason for the three stars is my own personal experience. I normally have dry and sometimes flaky scalp but this seems to make it ten times worse. For that I try to keep the oil off my scalp and only in the hair ends not the root. It has worked well so far. If you want shiny (not greasy or oily) hair, hair that will behave and hair that is at its best then give this a go. I thought at $20 this was a rip but I have come to realize that it's certainly worth the small fortune.

Tips: Put in through your hair just washed or dry it works well both ways

Thanks Maree :) i agree i love that my hair isnt greasy after use

Great review Shana, and yes, it works no matter how you use it. I like that it dries in my hair so it never gets greasy!

Sally Hansen Cuticle Rehab Review

Checked in for rehab

I got this in the last BR beauty vault, I was so excited because I had never used a cuticle repair product before apart from the natural alternatives to it. The fact that it was a Sally Hansen brand confirmed to me that I neeeeeeded it in my life besides the fact that my nails were in dire need of some R & R.

The fact that it is super affordable for a cuticle care product is awesome. I have seen them for upwards of $35. NO THANKS!! I much rather use natural alternatives than spend that much on it. So $15 I can most definitely do without too much second guesses. The tube itself reminded me of a lipgloss tube or a spot treatment tube. I love the vibrant green/teal colour of it. It appeals to the eyes and my head apparently.

The nozzle excites me like a kid in a lolly store. Its a clear paintbrush like applicator which makes it so much easier to squeeze the gel on to your cuticles. The consistency is like I just said a gel. It reminds me of the teeth whitening gel you can get. It takes a bit of time and effort to get the gel to the brush but once there it allows you to brush it on without mess or fuss.

It smells beyond amazing, like fruity, floral goooooodness! I rub it in to my freshly pushed back cuticles and work it in to the area. It doesn't leave my fingers all greasy like I thought it would which is great. It dries off in no time and leaves your fingers smelling sweet. I did this everyday for two weeks and let me tell you the improvement to the strength of my nails and the quality of them is like night and day. My nails now don't split or flake as much as they used to which has never happened! I am beyond excited about what further use will do for my nails. BRING IT ON!

Tips: Team with a nail strengthening polish

Yes its awesome. Awthanks :)

I love the brush applicator too Shana, it's so nice, and easy to use. Great review - as always !!

Glorified Paper Towel

I was surprised to receive a trial for this, as I didn't put my hand up for it, but I guess that's the perk of being a superhero, you get random trials! And while I am grateful for it, this is one of the worst lot of face wipes I've ever used, and unfortunately, I won't be repurchasing.

The wipes arrived a week and a bit after the invite got sent out, and I opened the delightful Beauty Review fairy mail with a grin. The gorgeous green packaging of both the wipes and mask greeted me and I was excited. The lid of the wipes was ripped off and the smell was gorgeous, which amped me up and I was excited to try.

I had makeup on so I decided to put them to use straight away. I had the usual basic makeup on, but I had waterproof mascara on instead of the usual mascara I wear. I had no fears though, as the wipes claimed to remove waterproof mascara.

What a joke. I took the almost dry wipe out of the packet and wiped my lips first, noticing only the inner lipstick came off. Leaving it, I went on to do my face, marvelling in how something couldn't pick up foundation yet it could move it around. The last test was the eyeshadow, liner and mascara. One wipe on my left eye and 40% of the shadow and liner came off, none of the mascara. At this point I have started a new wipe and was trying to get the rest of the shadow.

As for removing the mascara, the wipes pulled some of it off my lashes, yes, but it moved it to my under eye area and to the tops of my cheeks and refused to budge. Using a 3rd and 4th wipe proved useless and they seemed dryer and dryer as I went. To say I'm not impressed is an understatement. They claim to exfoliate but what they don't tell you is that it's just you rubbing your face raw and makes you think you've exfoliated. I wouldn't even look in the direction of these awful wipes if I was in the market for them.

Tips: I'm keeping these in my makeup room because they can wipe off fallout of eye shadow even if they are useless for everything else. They're also quite good when you wake up and want to rub the sleep off without washing your face!

L'oreal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Mask Review

Not as effective as I thought it would be

I made the big mistake of colour damaging my hair recently which left my hair burned, frizzy and breaking at the drop of a hat. This is when I decided drastic measurements needed to be taken so I purchased a semi-fancy brand hair mask. Enter L'oreal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Mask. I have used other products in this range before so was expecting some sort of good result.

The tub is quite a substantial amount which is good value for the price I paid. I paid $9.99 for this tub and I was quite surprised by how cheap it was considering it's a hair mask and a well known brand.

The formula is quite thick in consistency which made my heart happy. If it's thick it means to me that it has moisture galore and will penetrate my hair to lock in moisture. I wash my hair as usual and put this in my hair concentrating on the most damaged areas of my hair which is the tips.

I leave it in for a good ten minutes to let it really soak in to my hair. After I rinse it out I didn't really find it to be any different to what it was when I started. After four uses it feels slightly less rope like but not significantly better which I thought it would be.

I would expect for a well known well respected brand that it would give better results, Even after using it with their shampoo and conditioner it doesn't work that well. I am highly disappointed to be honest.

Tips: Use quite a bit of it to really get the hydration quality out of it.

Aw thats annoying

Yeah, na. It was disappointing really Shana.

I hope you like it too Maree. It might be my hair type or damage that didn't take to it but keeping my fingers crossed you find it great :)

That's a shame Shana! I wasn't going to buy it, but then I did because the other one of their masks is so good. I hope I like it :)
