Maybelline Define-a-lash Mascara Review

This mascara is perfect for someone who likes a more suttle mascara look, not thick and full. Does what it says it would :)

I have always been a huge fan of Maybelline mascaras due to their affordability, bright packaging, and how well they work. At the time I bought this, it was brand new and different to the mascara market because of the comb styled brush.

For someone like me, I hate clumpy mascaras and tend to avoid the really huge brushes, so I was super keen to give this a try as I imagined it would comb away my clumps. For someone wanting definition and length, this is a perfect mascara for them, as it really does exactly as you would expect it.

The only concern is that I found the brush quite floppy and hard to put back into the tube. This is the only thing that would prevent me from re-purchasing, as I have had a few broken ones in the past due to this issue. Other than that, it is a great mascara with loads of selections from the range to choose from (waterproof, brown, etc.)

I do not like this mascara for my top lashes as it is not very volumising but i do like it for my bottom lashes as the brush is quite small and perfect to get my shorter bottom lashes.

This is an excellent mascara, no clumps at all! I would totally buy again. Great colour and coverage.

This is a good everyday mascara that is my goto. The brush gives really good definition. It does help with length but I sometimes find myself wanting more volume, so on nights out I will use a different mascara.

I received this mascara for free online with a purchase I made, so I did not expect too much from the product. I was pleasantly surprised though, as the product had a plastic wand which separated my lashes wonderfully and did as the name suggests, define my lashes. I also found that it did create some volume at the base of my eyelashes. It has a basic formula which did smudge a little, which is not unusual for me as I normally use water-proof mascaras due to my oily skin. Overall this is a nice every-day wearing mascara for when I have little time and need to do minimal makeup.

I received this a s a part of a promotion for a new website, and was very surprised at the awesomness of the product! It has great seperation with no clumps, which i find is the best feature. Its great as a everyday mascara if you like a natural look. Only down side would be that it does smudge a little and it doesnt give very much volume but it does what it says and that is definition.

I've used this product but must admit it isn't my favourite of the maybelline mascaras. I found the brush was a little flimsy so it was difficult to apply a thicker layer to build up product for defined lashes. However, it was good in the sense that I experienced few clumps. I found that the formula almost seemed a little thick for my liking. I much prefer the great lash or volume express range and find these products much easier to work with for defined and long lashes.

Just what I want in a mascara, easy to use and works like it says! I cheekily even use it on my eyebrows sometimes and it works wonders

This isn't a mascara that I reach for much at all, I don't find that it really does much for my lashes at all, definitely for me is not volumizing. I also find the plastic bristles quite harsh and uncomfortable on the eye.
