CeraVe Blemish Control Gel

I must admit, I was a tad sceptic, as most gel's feels sticky on your skin. Not this one! Once applied you won't even know it is there! My 2 teenage boys even climbed into it and it really did work as it states & the bonus is that it did not dry out my skin nor my boys. It definitely did reduced breakouts and when applied to existing ones, by next day it was less inflamed and much better already. I will definitely get this again & although I won't use it the whole time, as I'm 47 and only get the occasional break out before my periods, it definitely did help & it did work for my teenage boys age 14 & 17.

My pores also definitely was minimised.

So my overall verdict on this would be it does what it states & even more!

My skin is combination-oily, acne prone. I’ve finally gotten to a point where I only get the occasional break out and congested pores so relatively happy with my skin compared to my earlier years.

Now onto the gel - I like the packaging, it’s simple and the dispenser makes it very easy to use. It has a slight lactic acid scent and comes out as a clear gel. It glides on easily, feels quite light and leaves a slightly tacky feel.

I like the way it felt but I’m not sure I used it too much, one finger length each night for a week but it broke me out. I was getting all these white heads and a lot of roughness/texture on my cheeks and chin. I stopped using it for a week and it’s eased. I’ll try it again because I think it has a great ingredient list containing ceramides, AHA and BHA. I also like that it didn’t dry me out which is what chemical exfoliants can do.

Maybe I’ll need to give it a rest day in between. So based off my current use which lead to it breaking me out and causing a lot of bumps and textures, I wouldn’t use it again.

I had one giant pimple to test this out on and I'm not sure this made any difference. I put this on every night and was very diligent with this. The pimple didn't change or budge, so I don't think it would treat acne, however, in saying that, I didn't get any new breakouts. It doesn't have any fragrance so would suit people with sensitive skin, and a little goes a long way!

I found the CeraVe Blemish Control gel really easy to incorporate into my morning routine. It comes in a 40ml tube. The gel is clear and light making it really easy to apply. It is odourless which is great for those with sensitive skin. My 13 year old son also tried this as he has started having breakouts - he found it did work and paired well with the Blemish Control Cleanser. We both felt it made our faces feel less oily and felt more fresh. My son and I used this for a little over a week and we did find the breakouts were more controlled and less angry looking. It made our skin feel fresh and clean and did appear to prevent breakouts. It also aided in reducing the oily skin. My son being a teen, prefers to use the gel instead of both the Cleanser and the gel combined. He prefers the spot application instead of the full face wash from the Cleanser. I perfer to use both as I like to wash my whole face to help prevent and also to attack the blemishes already present.

Unfortunately this missed the mark for me, I had 2 small breakouts while trialing this product and unfortunately it didn't appear to lessen either of them.

I did however opt to only apply the gel to the problem areas on my face rather than my entire face, as I often find targeted acne treatments to be a bit too harsh for use on the entire face if you don't require it. My chin was the area of concern this time and I applied it to my chin nightly but I did not see a reduction in my breakouts.

I did however find this product to be a lot more gentle than similar ones on the market. It wasnt harsh or drying, which often puts me off similar products, but perhaps that is also why I didnt see success. I think I'll keep giving this a go and see if I have any luck.

I enjoyed using this product - I used this in conjunction with the cleanser from the same line, and I really noticed a difference in how quickly it made a couple of small blemishes I was battling clear up. I used this as more of an area/spot treatment rather than a full facial gel, and didn't notice that it dried out the patches of skin it was used on or anything like that, which was nice. It's always hard to pinpoint one product that helps clear a blemish up, but I enjoyed using this one and will be keeping it on hand for the next little breakout!

Fragrance free, goes on smoothly and absorbs fast. Made my skin feel soft after application and didn’t dry it out which I was surprised. I used this in the evening after the cleanser as recommend and I found it works well as a combo. Small application hole that’s handy as you don’t need to much to go a long way. I noticed after a week the difference in my pores and blemishes. Would recommend to others and I will continue to purchase myself.

I have been using the CeraVe Blemish Control Gel for a couple of weeks now, and I have found that it has really helped to clear up and prevent new breakouts. I have sensitive skin and found that the Gel did not cause any irritation. It’s a gentle yet effective formula that hydrates the skin, rather than drying it out.

When I started using the product I had a couple of small pimples on my face, which cleared up quickly and my face has continued to stay clear and healthy since I started using both the CeraVe Blemish Control Gel and CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser. Over the years, I have spent a fair amount of money purchasing and trying a lot of different products to stop/get rid of breakouts. I found that this Gel works well on my small breakouts, but I am yet to try it on larger breakouts (e.g. Cystic acne).

The Gel is a good size and a really affordable product. You get 40ml, which should last a while, as I found that a little goes a long way. The Gel is fragrance free, which is a huge positive for me, as I personally prefer products that have a mild or no fragrance.

Overall I was really happy with the product, and would recommend it to anyone with blemish prone skin.

Made my skin break out more than has in ages, lots of white heads and red spots where i think they are going to be. No other noticeable change.
