cute colours

I really like the pigmentation and texture of this balm its very moisturising on the lips, - even the matte texture. the colour selection is great too and I love that the packaging matches the colour making it easy to find.

Great Matte + Gloss Lip Colours

I have three of these, two matte and one gloss. I love the range of colours they have and the fact that you can get them in matte/gloss.

I love that the matte ones are not drying. They apply smoothly and are not uncomfortable to wear, same with the gloss ones. They also have great pigmentation and last a while.

I know not everyone does but I like the peppermint scent of them. The crayon shape tip is cool and it makes it easy to apply as well as being able to twist the bottom to get more product.

Tips: Use a lip liner to ensure a precise lip line. Without it the colour tends to bleed.

Rendezvous

I bought Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in "Rendezvous" (#040), after using Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick (#020). I've never really been a lipstick kind of person and I find that I definitely prefer the look and feel of balm stains to actual lipstick.

The packaging and formula of the Colorburst Balm Stain is the same as the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain and is also packaged in a 2.7g retractable chubby crayon stick with a silver twistable base. The formula provides an even coverage and is moisturising (while the balm lasts) with a long-lasting colour stain. The colour wasn't as intense after a few hours, but there was still a coloured stain on my lips and by simply touching up the balm, the colour was revived and my lips are moisturised once more.

The Colorburst Balm has the same slight minty smell as the Just Bitten Kissable Balm upon initial application, but this wears off after a few minutes. If your lips do continue to tingle or they sting at all, remove the balm stain immediately, as Peppermint Oil can be an irritant to certain skin types.

I haven't had a problem with Rendezvous 'bleeding' into fine lines and wrinkles around the lips but I'd still recommend using a pencil lipliner to create a nice crisp, neat outline. If you don't have a pencil lipliner in a matching colour, just use a nude one (one that matches your natural lip colour) and blend the edges of the lipliner onto your lips with a cotton bud to prevent any harsh outlines.

To prevent any dry patches on my lips from being accentuated by the lip stain, I gently exfoliated my lips with a warm wash cloth before applying a tiny amount of eyecream onto my lips to lightly moisturise them before applying the balm stain.

Would I recommend this product? Yes, I really do enjoy using Revlon Balm Stains. Would I purchase it again? Definitely. When I finish a tube lipstick in a favourite colour, I plan to replace it with a Balm Stain in a similar colour!

Tips: The crayon doesn't require sharpening, although its best to limit the use of the tip to outlining the lips and using the sides to fill in the lips, as this will help to keep the point 'sharp' instead of it becoming rounded or flat.

Love it!

I bought one of these babies as they were on special for $12 and had the shade I was looking for.I bought "Crush" which is a darkish berry shade. Kind of plum. First off, I love the crayon format.. easy to use. Second I love the colour. And third, the formula goes on very easily, provides a light stain effect and yet looks sheer also. Feels very moistrising and provides a nice splash of colour to my day. I'm predicting that I will be wearing A LOT over the coming winter days and nights.

Hard to Tell

I had been eyeing these up for quite a while when I finally saw a Christmas special pack of 5 (a couple of years back) at half price. So of course I bought them!

They are all beautifully coloured and easy to use.... Kind of like a crayon on your lips. But I really didn't like them. They all smell minty and have that mint feeling on your lips. I usually love this and find it quite refreshing but I find it quite intense with these ones!

The leave a light sheen with a slight pop of colour which is quite nice for a subtle makeup look but the feeling of them is just not for me.

However, I don't know if they have changed their formula or if it is just because of the shade but my friend recently sent me a peachy nude one and I love it! It doesn't have that minty scent or feel and it is nice and moisturising on the lips and looks great!

Tips: Look up swatches of the colours or try in a store before you buy. The colours on the tube are not that accurate to what is on the inside!

001 Honey

I have this as well as the matte ones and I think this is one of the better balm stains I've tried. It's an opaque, dull pink and gives my lips a hint of color which looks really natural. I love these crayon style designs which you turn up because application is so easy and precise and you don't have to sharpen them. Its texture is actually quite balmy and feels smooth when applied. It's not drying and but I do have to reapply every so often. The color gets rubbed off quite easily and transfers when I drink or eat, due to its balm consistency. I don't like the smell as it's quite artificial and not scented. Overall a cute purchase and I carry it around in my bag for a natural hint of color.

Surprisingly like it!

This is one of those beauty purchases on a whim that was on a really good sale. I bought a light pink/peach type colour - really summery and I really love this colour.

The colour is quite intense, but not overpowering. I love the lip crayon application - it is easy to use and makes it perfect for a more casual makeup look. The balm stain has a strange (but not bad) minty taste and scent; unexpected but wakes up your lips and is somewhat refreshing. It has a decent staying power; nothing that lasts all day for me but for a few hours anyway. This is not so much of a hindrance for me as the packaging makes it really easy to reapply anywhere.

I would buy one of these again, but probably not at full price (as there are a lot of options for that price).

Tips: I wouldn't pay full price - definitely try this if you see them on sale though!

Colourburst balm stain - Lovesick

There is a subtle hint of mint or menthol on this balm. The balm has some stay power even after food but you may want to reapply for the balm rather than the stain. The stain stays most of the day without reapplication but it does fade over this time and lovesick is a strong bright pink.

It comes in a crayon shaped tube with a lid on it and you twist up from the bottom to extend the balm. It seems everyone did a version of the chubby stick.

Not sure I would buy the colour I have again but I would consider buying the product as it is a reasonable price.

Tips: Over time the bottom twist part has seemed to get a looser from the main part of it for some reason. The writing on the side all wore off after about a month or so.

Luscious colour

I am currently using the Crush shade, which is a lovely deep berry colour. I had tried a gloss-less stain before and didn't like the effect but the addition of gloss/balm in this product is amazing.

I love love love the thick delicious colour that glides and feels like a light lipstick.

I do not love that this particular shade faded to a hot pink if I didn't replenish it during the day. The particular hot pink isn't my colour, and it highlighted that I would have to keep refreshing it all day - I found that the product doesn't really stop staining the lips till after a shower. Even make up wipes doesn't seem to get all of it off. In my situation, when I wore this to work I thought 'great, a low maintenance colour that isn't heavy' but come gym time when I wanted to wipe it off, I was left with the unusual-for-me hot pink colour and I felt a little silly. Lesson learnt, I won't be wearing this on days where I might not want to keep refreshing it.

This product has a cooling peppermint flavour - I found it odd at first but got used to it. It is otherwise quite moisturising and OK on my dry lips.

Next project is to try another colour and see if I can find one that doesn't fade to a different colour.

Great quality

I have 2 of these: 030 - Smitten Eprise, & 045 -Romantic Romantique. I have found both of them to be very good. The red one, 045, is a rosy, glossy red. It is perfect for giving a hint of colour stain without the impression of a full-on lipstick. It makes your lips feel moisturised while providing a pop of colour. I do not find that this one stains my lips. It is quite lightweight, and also good for wearing over matte red lipsticks that you want to make glossy.

The dark pink one, 030, is a lovely plum shade. This one is very potent with a lot of staying power. It does stain the lips and will last you all day so your lips will look pink even after you've eaten. This one's colour is too rich to wear over a matte lipstick.

I have tried lip crayons from other brands, and Revlon's ones have been the best quality so far.

Tips: I often have dry lips, especially in winter, and these lips balms help to keep them moisturised while giving me a pop of colour. I find the balm stains show up dry skin on the lips less than the matte ones do.
