Burst of colour

These are one of my favourite lip products, I now own several different colours. Firstly, I really like the crayon-style applicator which made it really easy to apply, great for when you want a quick touch up. The stain applied nice and even with a slight balmy feel to it, so you get a little bit of moisture although not to the extent of a normal lip balm.

In terms of longevity, I would still touch up after eating and drinking to keep the colour looking fresh. It comes with a lot of product and you only need to apply it lightly so this is great value for money.

I'm also a fan of the colour-coded packaging. Each balm stain has a coloured plastic tube which matches the colour of the balm inside, making it easy to identify between them when you have a few like myself!

These are a great purchase for anyone who likes experimenting with colours, and wants something long-lasting for day or night which isn't as heavy as a lipstick.

lip stain adict

Im not the type of girl who runs of to the bathroom to retouch her lipstick when im out for dinner etc. So I need something that last a good amount of time. I first purchase the shade LOVESICK which is a bright pink. I feel in love with it, it stayed on during dinner and the shade was amazing! I love the minty flavour, and the way it feels on my lips. It's not drying and doesnt crack and super easy to apply. I now own 7 shades and the darker ones last the longest but still love them all.

Tips: Postie plus sell these for $10

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain

I love the look of these and the amount of product you get. I have the lightest and the true pink shade, the light has a nice shimmery effect and the pink is more a full colour. I got them online, i think I paid around $12 for both so was such a bargin. They go on smooth, dont flake on me at all and arnt sticky.

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain

I have quite a few of these, in different finishes (glossy, matte etc) and I love all of them!

There is such a wide range of shades to choose from and they last for a really long time during the day. They even look nice with a lipgloss layered over the top for a different kind of look.

Would recommend to everyone!

More of a temporary lip colour than a stain

I recently purchased one of these crayons after I had already experienced Revlons once bitten lip stain pen = amazing, no smudge, and so long lasting.

In comparison I was disapointed with the balm stain crayons due to the lack of staying power. I liken it to a norishing coloured chap stick more than a lipstick, and I certainly wouldnt say it's a stain - unless that is in reflection that it smudges off onto everything and may leave a stain..... but not on your lips where it is supposed too.

I really wanted a soft nude taupe colour and the closest was 001 Honey, after reading all the great reviews online I had to have it.

But when I got it home and used it, I found it was more of a soft pink and not at all what I thought it was. I now use it under other lippys as a base, because it is so norishing and is a good baser colour, but I wouldn't wear it on it's own as the colour is not falltering for my olive skin tone.

def not a stain.

Every handbag needs one

An easy to use balm that hydrates and adds shine, while giving you a perfect stain of colour that lasts and lasts without drying your lips. I have also used the matte ones and they are also long lasting but are more drying on the lips, like most matte lippy. Every lady needs one of these. Quick, easy and lasts! Can't ask for more than that... Expect maybe some new shades :)

Tips: I have been playing round with different shades of lip liner underneath, which can change the colour slightly which is fun or just using it to refresh a similar colour lipstick.

Like!

I really liked these balms because they are very pigmented without drying your lips out. I found that they glide on really nicely and are really moisturizing, unlike some lippies that go on nice and smooth but dry out over the day.

Would recommend these for people with drier lips who find it hard to wear lipstick or matte shades.

I liked the minty taste/feeling that some of them have it makes me feel fresh, that probably sounds weird but its a nice feeling!

Long lasting

I got a few different shades of the colourburst balm last year and I am impressed with the colour pay off and how long the colours last on the lips. I've found some of them to be a little "minty" and give my lips a funny sensation which I'm not too fond of.

I do like how long they last and how easy they are to apply though, good for chucking on when I am in a hurry and want something a little glossier. I would been keen to try out the matte version of these as well as I assume those would also probably last for even longer.

Also, really great for ladies on a budget as you can pick them up really cheap and they are great quality!

Tips: Shop around for the price! I managed to pick these up for $5 each instead of $20 :)

An easy way to wear bold colour

I picked up one of these babies for half price from a big bucket sale in Auckland (in "bitten"), and it's so versatile! On initial application the balm feels moisturizing but this wears away just like with a regular lip balm. The colour however, hangs around! I find it to be buildable, and if I layer it up it's not uncommon to find colour still present even the next day! The shade I chose is very nice though and I like to just swipe some regular balm over the light tint stain. Very pretty! It also has a light minty scent which i find pleasant if a little odd for a product I thought of more as a lipstick. Now I want them all!

Tips: As others have reviewed, there are three types of pencils that Revlon produce. I find the balm stain the best, I have a matte balm tube as well. Note the Matte Balm and Lacquer Balm are different product ranges though the packaging is similar! The Matte and Lacquer don't "stain" at all. Keep a separate balm handy to keep your lips moisturized if you don't want to build up too much colour by using this product repeatedly.

Fun Colours!

Great colours to experiment with if your not one wear bold colours as they are a reasonable price. You can quite often pick up 2 for about $30. Our Unichem where I live are constantly having specials with revlon and you can bring in your old revlon and get a good discount off a new revlon product. These balms stains do what they say they stain your lips which is handy when you don't want to constantly be reapplying lipstick and it doesn't look too tacky either. Very moisturising and have a hint of peppermint so can tingle a little but not overwhelming.

Tips: Use make up remover to remove the stain
