Great for the price!

I finally got this contour kit after it was sold out here in NZ for months! I paid NZ$25 including shipping. For me personally, it is worth buying. The ABH contour kit is NZ$80+, and I can't even fathom getting the Kat Von D Shade Light kit because shipping would be exorbitant to NZ plus having to use a ship-it-to website. This had pretty good reviews that I had seen. Pigmentation is amazing, literally only need to dip your brush in very lightly. It is a tad powdery, but easy to blend out. The middle greyish colour is great for under my cheeks to carve out a hollow, it has 2 more bronzey type shades that work pretty well for that purpose, the yellow banana powder is nice and doesn't crease under my eyes, the matte white is good for highlighting my forehead and chin where I don't want shine but still want it to stand out, and the shimmery highlight is great for above the cheekbones. I use every one of the shades in this kit and I love it. If you can't bear the thought of spending nearly $100 on one makeup item/kit, this is a great alternative!

Very pigmented!

These powders are so pigmented, a little goes along way! Seriously, use with a very light hand!

I love the highlight powder, it's not glittery or chunky, just enough of a shimmer to look natural.

The yellow based shade is ideal for setting under the eyes too, I find it cancels out my purple/blue dark under eyes circuses nicely.

There are a couple of shades that are a little too warm toned for me, I prefer the cooler toned browns for contouring.

There is definitely a good range of shades to suit all though. 2 x Lighter shades, a shimmery, highlight and 3 contour shades.

Tips: Use sparingly!

Good to play around with

I was so excited to buy this! The packaging was sleek and it looked similar to the shades of the ABH (Anastasia Beverley Hills) contour palette but at half the price! The highlighters are wonderful for an everyday glow and I do not find them to be too glitzy or intense, the 'banana' shade is my favorite and perfect for setting concealer under my eyes it was the first shade I have nearly used up! Then it gets the the contour shades, I found them highly pigmented so you need to use a light hand, but once placed in the correct areas a bit hard to blend out nicely. I found that it didn't blend or they blended patchy which was frustrating. I still used them mixed with a bight of bronzer to buff them out on my skin but the best thing I have found is to use them as crease colours for your eye shadows! They are amazing and seem to blend out nicely when mixed with other eye shadows, so anyone who is in the same boat don't let the product go to waste use it for eye shadow!

Tips: If you don't like the contour shades, use them as eyeshadows!

My first countour kit

This contour kit is great for begginer and the price pretty affordable only 18.90. The highlight shades was great and the countour shade is not that great. The countour shade looks muddy on my face and is a little bit hard to blend. Overall I love this pallet and will using it again until it finish. Repurchase ? Maybe not.

Tips: The your brush after you take a product, because the product was super pigmented and just need small amount.

The hype fail is real

After all the hype about contour kits I knew I had to have one, and this was the only one I could get with my budget, plus as I hadn't used one before I was a bit unsure if I actually wanted one, but blind need took over and I purchased for $18.

Upon arrival I was disappointed - It was so small! It seemed so big in pictures. I swatched every color on my arm and I was less than impressed there too. The highlighters were average, and the browns were so muddy and looked awful. Who contours with shades that dark!?

The formula is quite chalky, and I don't really like chalk full stop so this is a real big miss for me. Bravely and a little scared I ventured on and dipped the brush into the powder. I saw from my swatches that it was awfully pigmented, so I tread very lightly and dipped the brush lightly. It went onto my face and I sat mortified as I tried hard to blend it out. It didn't want to budge.

I've learnt to use even less than I did before, but I still can't blend it or make it look nice, so for me it was a fat waste of money. I wouldn't buy anything of this sort again, as this one has just put me right off contour anything.

Hated it first, now i love it!

So I got this kit to try out since everyone had been raving about it. But some of my friends were unsure about it, so I had to try it out for myself. At the start, I found the 3 light shades really good for highlighting my face and just good coverage in general, But the contour shades looked really muddy on my face and were not blending well with the angled contour brushIi was using. I came back to the kit after a while and tried to use different brushes with. When I tried the kabuki brush with it, it was like a completely new product! it blended into my skin really well and looked natural instead of muddy and cakey and now I love the kit!

Tips: Definitely, use a kabuki brush with this kit!

I'm totally trying a kabuki brush next time I get mine out! That might help me blend it better

Worth The Money

I never thought I would ever get this contour kit any time soon because of how anticipated it was. I got lucky and found it at my local Farmers so obviously I had to buy it immediately!

I really liked the packaging, its quite small which is perfect for travelling with. As for the actual product Im sure everyone knows it comes with 3 highlight shades and 3 contour shades.

The first highlight shade is a matte cream colour and I'm really not sure what the purpose of it is. I use it to set my whole face because it does not add any colour but it does mattify my face. The next highlight shade is the yellow shade which I've seen people use under the eyes. I've heard some people say they find the yellow shade a bit too yellow but I don't have that problem, that could be because I use very little at a time. I do find that it does highlight slightly under my eyes. The last highlight shade is a shimmery version of the first highlight shade and I used this on the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow and chin. This is a very subtle highlight that leaves a slight sheen and I actually love it because I love subtle highlights. Overall these 3 shades are very pigmented and soft but they feel quite powdery which wasn't a huge problem for me because it was so pigmented.

Now for the 3 contour shades: The lightest colour (the middle one in the kit) has a grey tone to it so I thought it would be prefect for contouring but once I tried it on my cheeks I found it to be a bit too grey for my skin tone and it looked like I had dirt on my face! The next darkest colour is a lot warmer and suited my skin tone way better. The darkest colour which was slightly warmer looked almost identical on my skin compared to the middle shade. These contour shades are extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way. I also find that if you put too much it starts to look muddy.

A major downfall for me was the fact that I found all the contour shades really hard to blend. It takes me double the time to blend this out compared to a cream contour which I was really disappointed about.

Overall I really like the contour kit because it is extremely affordable and at the same time its decent quality.

Tips: I would recommend using a slightly more stiff brush to contour to make it easier to blend. I use the Artiste contour brush which is a very dense, stiff brush which makes blending a lot easier.

ABH Dupe

I love this product. I was a little ambivalent about purchasing as I wasn't sure I would be able to use all of the shades. The top three are highlighters and are all different from each other, allowing for a range of looks to be created. I'm so glad Australis included the banana shade, I use this one to set my undereye concealer. The only colour I haven't been able to use successfully is the darkest contour shade, as it is too orange based for my skin tone. The other two work great to define my face. The contouring colours take a bit of work to blend out, but once they are they look perfect. They easily last all day.

Tips: You only need to use a light hand with the contour shades as they are super pigmented.

Low end, great results

I'm not familiar with contouring products but this is an amazing starter. It comes in a lovely matte black compact and has instructions on the back (although i followed tutorials on youtube that are using this particular product in them)

The colours are really pigmented so be careful with the contouring ones as they are DARK on pale skin lol.

The highlight in the compact is amazing, the banana shade is great for under the eyes and the first shade is perfect as an all over face powder for my skin tone..

I loved how easy this was to use and the price. I was really happy with it i think i will be repurchasing when it runs out (and it will run out ;) )

Definitley something to give a go!

Amazing dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. Great for a starter to experiment with and see if you like it, or someone who's really into their makeup. Gorgeous, matte black case is sleek, light and easy to travel with, there's instructions and how tos to make it as easy as possible to use. I've been waiting for this product for about 5 months now, I've had it on pre order and finally got my hands on it! Glad to say that it was definitley worth the hype, so pigmented! (You need to be careful when applying some to tap off the excess) beautiful colours, there are 3 highlighting shades at the top, one is shimmery and perfect for highlighting, the rest are matte, along with 3 matte contour shades at the bottom, both warm and cool shades that any skin tone will find colours to match them. Easy to blend and stays put all day :) the yellow powder is definitely my favourite for under eye brightening. The powders are slightly chalky but not noticable :)
