Do You Regularly Use a Serum?

I remember when serums were an extra step in my skin care routine that required remembering and effort.  Now, they're THE step in my skin care routine.  If I could only buy one product for the rest of my life it would be a serum.

Thicker than a liquid but thinner than a cream, a serum doesn't replace a product in your skincare routine - you introduce a serum to take advantage of the highly concentrated active ingredients and deep penetrating formula.

Serums are often introduced as a 'cure' or 'rescue' when your skin is already showing the signs of ageing, but they can be used earlier to help prevent the signs too.  Regular use of the right serum can prove invaluable in the fight against lines, wrinkles and age spots.  They can also help reduce the appearance of scarring and even skin tone.  Serums can also be really impactful at targeting specific skin issues such a dull skin, rosecea, or acne.

And wouldn't you know it we have ourselves a serum going out for review!

Garnier’s Vitamin C Brightening Serum is enriched with [3.5%] Vitamin C*, Niacinamide & Salicylic Acid and promises to reduce the appearance of dark spots and enhance glow.  It also contains Lemon Extract, a powerful superfood known for its brightening properties.

The formula has been carefully blended to provide dark-spot action without being heavy or greasy on the skin and has been scientifically proven to reduce dark spots and acne mark appearance.  It is formulated to suit all skin types and tones, and is dermatologically tested.

Oh and all Garnier products are officially approved by Cruelty Free International - so it's kind to the fluffies too!

So if you'd like to put your hands up for this trial team (if we can keep them away from the Beauty Crew!) why not get chatting to us about your serum experience.  Do you regularly use a serum?  For what problem and what results have you seen?  If you don't use a serum, why not?

I’m getting to the age where I really need to start incorporating a serum in my skincare regime. I love the sundry Riley vitamin c cream, and as this serum has vitamin c in it, I’d love to see if this serum has just as great an impact on my skin. I also like that this product has Salicylic acid in it, as this is a must in my daily regime.

I try not to skip serum as it makes such a different, especially as the weather cools. I would love it try this as I'm noticing age spots coming up as I approach 40. This looks like it has some great active ingredients.

I always use a serum in my routine and after addressing other issues in my skin I’m ready to look at incorporating a vitamin c serum in there as well. This is great because with the niacinamide it means I can drop another product I have so I’m not needing so many different products in my routine. I’d love to put my hand up to give this product a good try

This serum sounds perfect to add to my currently unstable skincare line up. I would love to ease my dark spots and see what this can do for my skin

I use a vitamin c serum in the morning every day and retinol serums at night. Wouldn’t be without them! Vitamin c is definitely brightening my skin so I wear much lighter coverage foundation thanks to my serum use! Would love to be on this trial and compare the product to my current serum!

I’ve tried a few different serums and usually find limited results. But with winter skin Creeping in would love to give my skin a boost of extra love

I've never tried a vitamin c serum before but always wanted to, especially for getting rid of old pimple scars. Would love to trial

I’ve been using the Essano Vitamin C brightening serum, would love to try this one and compare the difference of the 2.

I have never used a serum, but over time the skin on my face picks up more and more little flaws. It would be great to test this out to see if I can get a more even skin tone again, and it is also supposed to smooth the skin, that would be great!

Love using serums they really do provide that extra moisture boost :-)

I have been actively using serums this year - mainly niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. I've noticed an amazing difference. My skin has less blemishes (even my usual hormonal spots once a month are non-existent) and my skin is more hydrated. I love the idea of a vit C serum but the one I tried had such a strong, unpleasant smell I just couldn't get on with it! Would love to try an alternative. This one looks great as it is combined with niacinamide so might kill two birds with one stone!

I'm a big fan of serums, and do already use niacinamide and salicylic acid serums. I haven't yet tried any vitamin C serums, but would be keen to.
