Do You Look For Vegan Products?

The new GARNIER ORGANICS range isn't available in NZ yet, but we've got our hands on it.  ALL OF IT.  And we'll be recruiting 4 different trial teams to each put various products to the test.

Fun fact time - The majority of the Beauty Crew are Vegetarian.  One of us is Vegan.  Me, I've been a Vegetarian since birth, my Mummy doesn't like cooking meat and so I grew up meat-free, and it stuck.

All of the Garnier Organics products have Vegan ingredients, and it got me to wondering - is this an important factor in beauty products for other people?  People make dietary choices for many reasons - health, beliefs or convenience - but do they extend their choices to the beauty products they choose?

And if you're not Vegan or Vegetarian, what do you think when buying a product that carries the V-leaf?  Do you feel they're a softer, kinder choice to your skin and the environment?  Or does it makes no difference to your feelings towards a product?

We're putting the Garnier Organic Cornflower Micellar Water  to the test.  This micellar water is enriched with organic cornflower and barley water to cleanse and nourish the skin.  It promises to remove waterproof and longwear make-up!

It is Cosmos Organic certified by Soil Association according to COSMOS standard.  The Cornflower has been specifically selected by Garnier and sourced with respect for biodiversity.  It comes from France where it is organically produced.  The bottle contains 100% recycled plastic and is 100% recyclable.

So if you'd like to put this product to the test, tell us - do you pay particular attention to the ingredients in the product and whether they compliment your dietary choices?  Are you a Vegan or Vegetarian and do you struggle to find products that work with you, and fit in with your beliefs?

Yes yes. I always look for vegan products but they are a lot harder to find at an affordable price. I’d love to test these out .

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan so it's not something I look for specifically. However, I do see it as a good thing if a product is vegan and tend to think it's likely to be less harsh on the skin.

I love finding vegan and organic ingredients that are gently on the skin and environment and nature. I have super sensitive skin and would love to trial this to remove my daily make up.Being a mum and a teacher I opt for supermarket options when possible and this looks like something I could use!

I am not a vegan or vegetarian but always look at organic or environmentally safe products that is not harmful to the environment, ozone layer and that will be good to and for my skin. I have found that products that have all the nasty products in are not kind to my skin and it is as if my skin breaks out and rebels to those products. Hence stayibg as natural as possible.

I haven't used specifically vegan products, but it is something I have been starting to look into as I transition to a more plant-based diet.

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but always note the ingredients and whether organic and natural products are used. I think it's important to use as natural as possible, especially if the products does what it says it will!!

I am vegetarian and try to shop for natural/organic formulas as often as I can.

I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I do believe in buying organic and natural products (e.g. free range meat) so I would love to test this range out. I have sensitive dry skin so I look for products with no artificial fragrances etc

I don't think I really look for vegan although I like some natural skincare products. If a product is vegan great. But not going to pay top dollar just so my lipbalm doesn't have beeswax or my skincare is free of honey or my hand cream has no lanolin.

I love vegan products. I wish I could use more products just so that I could have them all. It's so important for our skin and for our animals.

I’m not a vegetarian but am trying to consum less meat in my diet. I prefer cruelty free products and have very sensitive skin, I react to products which aren’t natural. I would like to try cornflour as a natural beauty cleanser. It sounds intriguing as we are discovering the power of nature and natural remedies that do have value.

I'm not vegan - or even vegetarian - but I try to use only cruelty free beauty products (and meat - I try to stick to free range, organic or home kill).

There is no need for an animal to suffer for my beauty products!

I’m always looking for products that are cruelty free and are as natural as possible. Though I am not vegan or vegetarian, I am still trying to make sure enviromentally friendly choices with regards to my skincare and beauty products. The packaging of this also looks simple and fresh. I’ll keep my paws crossed to try this - it sounds gorgeous!

I like to use products that are natural and environmentally friendly. I don’t have any dietary preferences so I don’t usually look for this when buying products. I’m skeptical whether this product will actually remove long wear and waterproof makeup, would love to try this product out on waterproof mascara and long wear foundation and lipstick.

I like natural based products and environmental friendly sustainable and not tested on animals. I like that and it probably makes me like to buy them a bit more those factors are probably a bit more positive to me but since my cousin is vegan and vegetarian I have taken a bit more interest
