Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser Review

I'm genuinely surprised by the reviews on this product - this is my go-to cleanser, and for me, it was the best thing I did for my skin.

I have definitely found it has reduced the appearance of my pores - it didn't make a huge difference right away, and probably took around 3 months to notice much of a difference - but that's not unusual with AHA and BHA products; your skin takes time to regenerate.

I've definitely found that with regular use my skin has cleared up, my skin tone has improved, and the pores on cheeks are noticeably smaller.

I like that my skin doesn't feel squeaky after use, and the smell has really grown on me.

I have purchased this product a few times over the years. I always trust the brand and this product is nice to use when my skin is feeling a bit oilier than normal. It has a gentle cleansing effect in the skin and really cleanse the skin...can feel a wee bit 'stripped' of natural oils afterwards so apply moisturiser immediately after cleansing and rinsing. Skin is always cleared of make up and dirt, and ready for other products.no visible pore reduction for me

I've used around 2-3 bottles of this before moving on to another, which is a pretty good track record for me. This cleanser leaves the skin refreshed without feeling stripped of its natural oils, and when couple with my silicon scrubber it did a decent job cleaning out my pores. Since then I've moved on to other cleansers but if I were ever travelling and need something trustworthy at the supermarket, I'd reach for this for sure.

The Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser is a good cleanser, but I think it is overselling itself on the "pore reducing" claims. It cleanses my face well and helps get rid of excess makeup (that I haven't got all off with a cloth). But "pores look visibly smaller week after week" is probably a stretch.

The bottle is good - easy to use with a pump top. It's in a clear bottle, which I love, because you can see how much you have left. The cleanser itself is a light blue, which is quite fun. The smell is very soapy though, which is not fun. Won't buy again.

Despite my low rating, I actually thought this cleanser was good. I just feel like they were falsely advertising the "pore-reducing" claims hence the low score. Thankfully, I don't have large pores to begin with, I merely purchased this due to the AHA and BHA properties so personally I wasn't too fussed.

I liked how gentle it was on my skin. It isn't sudsy and doesn't leave your face feeling rubbery or dry. I don't believe it created any majorly drastic changes or improvements, however it did feel like my skin became gradually smoother and less prone to oiliness overtime which was great because I'm combo-oily.

Altogether, if you disregard the pore-reducing claim, this is a great every day cleanser that does a good job of cleaning your face. Is it the best out there though? Definitely not. But if you're wanting a generally good drugstore cleanser, this is affordable and lasts awhile.

Im a big fan of the Neutrogena products, and always am keen to test new types of products, Im not to much of a fan of this product, I hate the fact that the days using the product, it didnt do anything to my skin, making it better in anyway, what a let down for the products

I liked this cleanser and would use it again but not if I was looking specifically for a pore reducing product. I found that there was no difference in the size of my pores even after several weeks use. However, as a cleanser I found it effective, it was gentle on my skin and removed make up really well, even eye makeup, without stinging. The scent was nice and the product lasted for ages. The pump was great for use in the shower.

I was lucky enough to get this in a previous beauty vault and was excited to try it after hearing good things about this range. The AHAs and BHAs present in this range are good for refining skin tone and texture - however they are not much use in a product that gets washed down the skin and does not stay on your skin.

The pump packaging is very easy to use and doesn't jam, though there is some leaking of the product which is annoying. The cleanser itself is a pale blue colour that foams up well and cleanses gently without stripping for my usually normal skin. The bottle lasted me ages and I am still keen to try other products in the range. I may repurchase once I work through my cleanser stash!

I really was :( I gave this product about 3 weeks before giving up on it.

I purchased this in a vault thinking it'd be worth a shot and I was pretty new to cleansers. I think my pores on my face are quite defined so was pretty happy to nab this considering it's meant to reduce/shrink the appearance of pores.

It didn't, it simply left me with super dry skin! My skin as it is is pretty dry but after every wash my face felt super tight and by midday dry. Not to mention there were no differences in my face from when I started using this product to when I decided to stop.

Clean my face? Yip I believe it did but I think the formula is wrong for my skin type. Even with a moisturiser after use, my skin was feeling pretty dry and tight.

The pump nozzle bottle it comes in is quite sturdy and easy to use. Pump and the liquid comes out. The product it self is pretty straight forward and easy to use. Wet your face pump some into your hand and massage all over your face. Wash off and pat dry.

Unfortunately for me it didn't work.

I used it every morning for 3 weeks followed by a moisturiser. I didn't start using the moisturiser straight away it was about a week after using It I found I was needing it. The liquid itself isn't an over powering smell, hard to describe but reminds me of the clean and clear acne wash.

Maybe suited for someone without dry,sensitive skin?

I grabbed this from the vault as I was in need of a new cleanser and there it was..

I really like the design of the bottle; clean, practical and transparent so you can clearly see how much is product left.

The liquid is a really pretty light royal blue color, i'm not a fan of the scent hoever, it's slightly fruity floral and soapy in a very artificial smelling way. This cleanser lathers so exceptionally well I find that I need use only a tiny amount at a time, one full pump is far too much, so it's very economical to use.

Apart from giving my face an okay kind of a clean, this cleanser does nothing else for me. No shrinkage of pores that I have noticed, and no improvement in the overall look and feel of my skin.

I'm a bit disappointed with this product, yes it cleanses and it's cost effective considering it lasts for ages (I've used about 1/4 of the bottle in 2 months), but I expect a bit more than that from a cleanser if i'm going to like it.
