Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser Review

I picked this up from the last beauty vault for my boyfriend who has very oily acne prone skin. This was not good for him as it broke him out really bad and did not shrink his pores.

I on the other hand have very dry skin and suffer from eczema not acne. I found this product worked pretty good at removing my make up and left my skin feeling nice and smooth. The tone of my skin did not improve however. This is a pretty average face wash but the most surprising thing is I seem to be allergic to all Neutrogena products as they burn my skin and make it very inflamed, but I didn't have that reaction to this particular cleanser. I find this cleanser to be oddly gentle on my sensitive skin.

I grabbed this cleanser in the last Beauty Vault, in a continuation of my eternal quest for the perfect daily cleanser. I was grabbed by the "Pore Refining" title, and went ahead with great hopes. Hmmm

It is not a bad product, it leaves my skin nice & clean, and I'm definitely having less breakouts. My pores do not look smaller though. And I spend A LOT of time inspecting my pores. The smell was a bit of a shock a first - a little on the harsh side, but I soon got used to it. It foams up nicely, and leaves my skin feeling clean. But about 5 minutes after my shower, my skin is incredibly dry - it's a bit itchy, tight, and just feels dry. This will be different with all skin types, of course.

I'll possibly buy it again, as I like the less-breakouts side of it, and am yet to find a cleanser that does that for me, without feeling like my skin is being damaged.

I feel that this product did not do what it says on the package. My pores are the same as before I used it. The bottle is of decent size, and the liquid was a cool colour. It does leave my skin quite dry as well. In conclusion I would probably not recommend to my friends.

Got from the beauty vault this year and it had leaked a little on arrival but not much. The pump bottle is not good for travel but other wise handy. The smell of this is like a liquid hand soap it is not bad but is not a natural scent and quite strong. As far as making my pores smaller it works some what but the product drys out the skin so washes off the natural acid mantle I think for oily and congested skin it could be helpful but it could potentially dry the skin out so much that it may make it produce more oil. On my skin after use my skin feels rather dry this makes a good make up remover especially if the foundation has oil. The skin feels tightened as well but for me I did feel like I wanted to use a fair bit of moisturizer afterwards I do not use this everyday as I think it is too harsh for my skin and so I would not go out and purchase it. At 15.99 it is rather pricey but its American I think they use harsh soaps only a small amount is needed for this to foam up so i think has high laurel sulfate which is not a good thing in my books

I struggle with gigantic pores on the sides of my nose so I'm always on the hunt for something refining or even complete removal of my pores. I used for Neutrogena Pore Refining cream cleanser for a while as a BR trial and it appeared to have helped my face somewhat. I was intrigued how the liquid cleanser was going to perform against the cream.

Its a blue cleanser and I'm happy the formula isnt just a runny water consistency that you hope you slip through your slip but actually hit your face and clean it. The cleanser doesnt have much foaming action which is great for me as foam cleansers really dry out my skin. This cleanser doesnt make my face feel like sandpaper but it doesnt feel baby soft and nourished after use.

Unlike the cleanser that left my eyes burning like crazy this cleanser is more gentle and does not offer any burning sensation for those with a sensitive skin. The handy pump is also alot better that just a squeeze top for dispensing product.

I use this once a day at night and about 3 times a week bcause my acne likes a variety of products so I cant use the product consecutively. I know this cleanser is not suppose to be a makeup remover but it does claim to penetrate deep into the pores. I'm sorry but I got no penetration in my pores. After cleansing I would use a toner and it looks as if I hadnt washed my face at all. If its not cleaning the dirt away from my face how is it giving me pore action and making my pores smaller?

I honestly havent noticed a difference in my pores or the quality of my skin which I'm quite disappointed in. I'm going to use the cleanser until I run out because I'm no longer wasting my beauty products but I will not be repurchasing this cleanser.

I use this cleanser on the days I don't exfoliate. I'm not sure I really like this product. The scent is kind of gross, it smells like chemicals to me. I find it quite harsh on my skin, after I pat dry my face it feels tight and really dry, I don't think my skin could handle using this on a daily basis, I also find I need to use a load of moisturizer afterwards.

I don't notice any visible signs that my pores are smaller, but I think this product would suit someone with oily skin marvelously.

I like the packaging and the colour, also the size is very generous for the price, but would I purchase again? No!

wow what a fantastic product,i have used it over 3 days and have seen my pores get smaller each time,this product really does what it says it does. i used it with wam water lathered it up in my hands then rubbed it gently over my face,i found my skin to be so clean and it was not dry like some other products can do,but my pores i noticed today are alot smaller than what they were when i started using this product.after a week or 2 i bet they will not be visable at all,it comes in a pump bottle that locks so you can not accidently push the pump down when travelling ,great to pop in the suitcase.my bottle is staying on my bathroom shelf and i will be rebuying for sure when it runs out.i am so impressed.good on ypou neutrogena

I've been blessed *cough* with some rather voluptuous pores - mainly on my cheeks and nose, and at times on my forehead. And whilst there's nothing wrong with curves - I have a fair few in other areas which I actually adore - I do like to try and keep them tight and toned as much as possible. So of course when a cleanser promises to shrink and refine my pores, I have to give it a go.

My relationship with Neutrogena's products has been a bit up and down over the years, some products I've adored, others I've just ended up binning. This product is in danger of falling into the latter category.

The bottle is nice and neutrogenary - clear, blue liquid inside, handy pump dispenser, which is perfect as I use this as my morning cleanser in the shower. The scent is the first thing that gave me an 'uh-oh' moment - it's quite soapy. Surprisingly though, unlike actual soap, my skin doesn't feel tight and uncomfortable after it's had a cleansing with this. One plus, is that you don't need a lot of product, I use just over a pea sized amount and it foams up well.

Does it cleanse my skin? Yes. But the big question is... did it refine and shrink my pores? No. In fact the pores on my forehead seemed to blossom under this new regime, resulting in clogging (yay summer sweatiness), and blackheads. Not ideal.

As I'm project panning I've forced myself to keep using this, and have started using it on my pimple-prone back/shoulders/neck area just so it's used up more quickly, although to be honest I am very tempted to just give up and do away with it.

I have dry/combo skin, and I wonder if this is perhaps better suited to those with oily/combo skin?

I've been using this cleanser for about two weeks now and it's definitely not bad- it does leave my skin clean and fresh but I haven't noticed any change to my pores. If it has improved my skin it's minimal or perhaps it needs more time. I will continue to use the cleanser until it's gone but I think i'll try something else next.

This was a beauty vault purchase and overall I am not disappointed with this product.

The texture of the gel is good and the smell is divine. Pleasant and yet Clean smelling ( if that makes sense!). Just what you expect from Neutrogena. So far so good. The gel is easy to pump with the bottle pump and again easy to apply. So is it any good? Well it's ok …my face felt nice and clean afterwards, but a little tight. After a few days of using it dried my skin slightly and needed to use plenty of moisturiser. The down side, I didnt overly see any evidence of pore reduction, so defeats the object a bit. Overall a good cleanser but don't use to reduce pores. I
