Great cuticle oil

The Sally Hansen top coat comes in the same bottle as the cuticle oil, and as they're both clear, the look very similar and it's easy to accidentally pick up the wrong bottle. To prevent myself from accidentally using cuticle oil instead of top coat, I keep the top coat with my nail polishes, and the cuticle oil next to a chair in the lounge, so that I remember to apply it every night while watching TV.

The cuticle oil has a brush applicator that is the same flat, wide brush as the polishes and top coat, making it really easy to apply.

The cuticle oil is a “dry” oil, meaning that it is absorbed fairly quickly when a little is applied with the brush, and once it is massaged into the skin around the nail and over the polish, there is no greasy or oily residue. It also has a sweet, almost caramelised sugar smell from the Argan Oil.

To test whether this oil really works well, I only applied it to one foot (I was testing the polishes on my toes), and four days after I'd first applied the polish, I noticed a chip in the middle of the big toe of my right foot (no cuticle oil applied to this foot). The polish on my left foot, where I'd been applying cuticle oil daily, still looked as good as it did on day one!

So, does it really work and live up to the promises? Yes. Cuticle Oil should be applied to nails on a daily basis, not only to nourish the nails but to help keep polish flexible, to prevent it from chipping, and to stop polish from sucking moisture from your nails as it starts to dry out and become brittle. I still wouldn't recommend leaving nail polish on for more than two weeks, even with daily use of cuticle oil, as the oils in the polish will eventually stop nourishing your nails when the polish gradually starts drying out, removing moisture from your nails instead of nourishing them.

Tips: Apply daily for healthy, nourished nails

So in love

I am in love with this range, my nails have never been better. My nails were weak, constantly peeling and ripping. But after a week of this range my nails have not ripped or peeled once, for the first time in over a year!! The oil feels luxuriant to apply. I have only ever used one other oil, that I won so am new to cuticle oils. They will now be a staple in my nail kit now though. I keep it next to my bed so I remember to apply it each night. As per the instructions you can't use it and then paint your nails so I used it, waited a bit, washed my hands and then painted my nails. Love love love this range!!! It really works!!

Tips: Keep your oil in a place to remember to apply it, I keep mine beside my bed.

Sally Hansen Cuticle and Nail Oil

This is a gorgeious product that comes in a full size bottle. The product itself is clear in colour and smells amazing...sort of vanilla y and sort of powdery. A nice wide and flat brush makes application really easy and i apply and then massage into nails. Even with nail polish on i feel that you can use this...just by massaging into base of nail. I have been using it on my toe nails also, as they have been in need of a bit of pampering. It has become obvious to me, that this product is some sort of magic, (either that or i have been very neglectful) as my nails and cuticles are in much better condition and i will definitely re purchase. Definitely a step worth taking the time for.

Tips: I apply at night on ny toes and then massage a nice lotion in as well. Makes my tired feet feel great.

It sounds awesome - I've been wanting to buy some nail oil, and this is a better price than the one I was looking at!

A Lovely Nail Treatment Oil

The Sally Hansen Colour Therapy Cuticle and Nail Oil is a lovely product, like a nail polish in terms of packaging only with a shorter, sturdier brush for applying the oil to your fingernails and cuticles. I love the subtle scent and how easy it is to apply, with the same flat-style brush that the range has for nail polish.

I haven't been able to notice a difference yet in terms of nail strength after applying, but I have found it to be a great general moisturiser for the whole nail-area. Smells lovely too. Easy to pop on before bed or after a shower.

Nailo Repairo - magic!

Cuticle and nail oil is a must if you want healthy nails and this one is good. ok, so the oil itself probably works as well as most others I have tried including the Trilogy Everything balm, however, what sets it apart:

Easy to use. the brush is nice and wide, like most of the Sally Hansen range, so it covers your nail easily.

The clear bristles help ensure you know you are using the oil as apposed to the clear top coat (they could be confused) which has black bristles.

You don't have to be perfect, but this can give you an opportunity to practice nail polish application, without worrying about going over the lines.

then rub it in - this steps also gives your fingers a nice massage.

I found this worked well on naked nails, over nail polish & over matte coat with no detrimental effects. (I was worried this morning the oil would make the matte shiney)

Tips: Remember to wash it off or use hours before applying nail polish.

Beautiful cuticles!

I had never used a cuticle oil before so was very excited to try this out. It comes in a standard glass nail polish bottle and has a great wide, flat brush. The bottle holds 14.7 ml of oil and with the tiny amount you need it will last ages.

I have been applying this nightly before bed. Simply brush on then massage in. It does not leave a greasy residue at all. It has the most amazing scent, quite subtle but smells a bit like vanilla. I was not expecting this so got a pleasant suprise the first time I used it.

My nails are in good condition but my main problem would be the tears I get on the sides when they get long. Since using this oil I have not had this problem and they seem a lot more flexible. My nails are looking really great.

I am in love with this oil and will continue to use it and recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of TLC for their nails.

Sally Hansen Colour Therapy Cuticle and Nail Oil

I was lucky enough to be sent two polishes, the cuticle oil and the top coat to trial from Beauty Review. The oil is something I normally wouldn't use but I am trying to make this a regular item in my nail routine now!

My nails have grown! They usually struggle to grow as they break so easily. But since using this product I have noticed that they have definitely grown! So that alone is a reason I will keep using this product in hopes in the long term it helps fix the damage to my nails. I haven’t noticed a huge miraculous difference in the health of my nails yet; the ridges, peeling, etc. But they haven’t broken since using this product – only grown. Will I finally have long nails?!

I haven’t ever noticed a difference using any cuticle product so I don’t normally use one. I have only been using this product it for two weeks so this may be why I have only noticed them growing a little quicker. Whether it is attributed to the Color Therapy polish or the oil, I did notice when I removed my nail polish a week into the trial, my nails didn’t peel like they usually do when I remove polish; they weren’t as dry. The evidence of past damage was still there, but it didn’t continue or get worse like it normally does. On that note, I will continue using it to see if longer term usage improves my nails further.

This oil comes in matching packaging to the polishes and has a nice short-bristled brush. This makes it really easy to apply. You simply brush the oil onto your nails and cuticles daily and massage it in. It also suggests you wash the oil off prior to applying nail polish. This oil doesn't have a scent and isn't overly 'oily'. It doesn't feel terrible to use. Like the polishes, it is enriched with argan oil so I can only hope that its continued usage along with the nail polishes will improve the health of my nails.

Would I buy it again? Probably! I will have to continue using it in order to determine whether it is in fact helping the damage to my nails or not in order to decide whether or not to repurchase. The container is big enough that this oil will last a long time; definitely long enough to determine whether it can fix my dreadful nails for good. After that, if it helps as it is already I will definitely be repurchasing!

Tips: Apply a generous amount to your nails, focusing on the cuticles, and massage the oil into your nails.

Lovely Cuticle and Nail Oil

I must admit that my cuticles are probably something I often overlook when I am doing my usual nail routine however I was really excited to be able to give this product a try.

This is very easy to apply, the packaging is the same as the regular nail polish, which means you get a lot of product that will last. The brush is slightly smaller than the brushes on the polishes. Precision is not required to apply this oil just brush on and massage in (which is quite relaxing in itself) I also applied this on my cuticles while I was already wearing polish and it didn't have any negative on the polish either.

My nails are looking a feeling amazing after a week and a half using this oil. My nails have grown amazingly and they are very strong. There is no signs of weakness and my nails are not splitting or breaking. My cuticles are also very smooth and feel nice and conditioned. I also have no tears in my cuticles which is great because that can get very painful. I don't know why I don't use a cuticle oil more often.

The only annoying thing it that is is very difficult to tell this and the topcoat apart at first glance as the packaging is almost the same. It would be good if they had a sicker or something on the top to identify it like you do with the nail colour shades.

Overall this cuticle oil gets a big thumbs up from me and I will definitely repurchase once it (eventually) runs out.

Happy cuticles

I've never used a cuticle oil before. The only care I give my hands is in the form of hand cream. I'm super lucky to have been picked to trial Sally Hansen's two polishes, top coat and cuticle oil. And at the perfect time too. I had just been on holiday in Melbourne and my hands were super dry and cuticles peeling (ouch!) from the harsh weather.

I like the packaging. It's very nice and luxurious and the brush makes it easy to apply. It does look quite similar to the top coat though, and I've accidentally reached for that a couple times.

I just pop a drop on the cuticles and massage it in, which feels like my hands are super pampered. I notice that my cuticles are definitely more hydrated and there's no more peeling and bleeding! Yay! As for my nails, they're not normally brittle so I haven't noticed much change. I feel that they grow a bit quicker and thicker, but not enough to be obvious.

I love that it's subtly scented and doesn't leave a greasy film. I think it's a great product and since a little goes a long way, it'll last for ages! Would definitely repurchase.

Excellent!

I have to start this review by saying that I do not look after my hands! No oils, no lotions, nothing. My life isn't overly onerous on my hands but they get neglected. As a general state my cuticles are dry and cracked so I was really excited to be on this trial to give them some loving!

The bottle is the same as the polishes and top coat, solid glass with a classy metallic lid, I am a big fan of the elegant packaging. The only very small point I'd make is that side by side at a quick glance it is hard to tell the difference between this oil and the top coat.

The formula is lovely, it applies easily and spreads a long way but is not so thin that it runs all over your fingers. You apply a small amount via a small brush to the cuticle and massage in over the nail as well.

So have I noticed a difference? In my cuticles absolutely! They are much more hydrated and the cracking has all but disappeared after 10 days of use morning and night. As for my nails, not so much. It's tricky to say though because I trialled my polishes for 5 days, I had 10 days to write this review so only half that time did my nails actually have the oil massaged in. They certainly look really healthy when you apply it and you feel like you are pampering your hands!

This bottle will last a really long time and I believe I would repurchase, it is so quick and easy to use and makes a good difference!

Tips: Keep it beside the bed, it was lovely to use each night before I went to sleep! Make sure you wash it off the nails if you use it before painting!
