Revitanail Nourishing Oil Review

After being sent the product to trial alongside the Retivanail Nail Strengthener, I followed the instructions and applied it once a day after letting the Strengthener dry.

It felt nice going on, it made my cuticles shiny however wasn’t overly greasy which was nice. It was easy to apply, and I love that a little goes a long way so it will last a super long time. I found the brush wasn’t too stiff or anything, so it was easy enough to apply. At $17 RRP though? No, I definitely wouldn’t repurchase. It felt and looked nourishing going on, but my cuticles look like they are in exactly the same condition they were at the beginning of the trial - they are still torn on some of my nails, and quite rough. I was applying the oil almost everyday, so it is quite disappointing to not see a noticeable result. Maybe I needed to apply a lot more?

I will continue to use it and I hope there is a change. However, since I’m used to applying a cuticle oil daily now, I’ll probably start using a couple of other cuticle oils I have received in the past (but didn’t get into the habit of using) instead to see if they make a noticeable difference. I feel like there is probably a much better alternative out there that probably comes at a better price point - potentially even a nice hand cream might give better results, plus be multi purpose!

Instant results

My cuticles are in a sad and sorry state - ragged, dry and peeling. Like my nails, they need all the help they can get so I was keen to give this a go when the trial invites went out.

This oil comes in a standard nail polish bottle with a brush and is applied daily after using the Revitanail nail strengthener. The oil is of a medium consistency and applies really easily - you only need to dip the brush back into the oil once or twice to cover the nails and cuticle on both hands. The instructions then say to massage in for a minute (in total? Per nail? I'm unsure). I find the smell of this oil really pleasant and it absorbs quite quickly. I just rub any excess into my hands.

This oil makes my nails look instantly better and they were much improved after a week. However I did notice that after a few weeks my cuticles were starting to look a bit ragged again. I'm not sure if they have just gotten used to this product so it is no longer as effective, or it's just the sorry life my nails lead. Even with daily use though, I have used hardly any of this oil so it will last months. It's super easy to use whilst watching tv so I will keep using it and see what the long term benefits are.

Salon quality at home

I always have dry, overgrown cuticles that are terrible. They sort of grow over my nails and dry on so they are really hard to push back. Along with dry, stringy skin around my nails it's safe to say that I hide my hands as much as I can.

This oil is amazing. So easy to use and great results.

It comes in a nail polish style bottle, with a nail polish style brush. Yellow in the bottle but is clear when you brush it on. To apply I brushed it across my cuticles and then rubbed it into my nails and skin around my nails. After a couple of days I was able to push my cuticles back very easily and give them a nice tidy up. With continued use my nails appeared healthier, less dry looking and the skin around my nails was smoother and less stringy. I thought the oil absorbed well - considering it is an oil. There was no scent which would be nice but it is probably an unnecessary ingredient my nails don't need so I don't hold that against it.

I used this religiously for around 3 weeks, morning and night, and was amazed by how good my nails look. I was also amazed that hardly any product seemed to be used with my bottle still very full. This will last you a very long time.

Tips: It does take some commitment to remember to put kitchen bench near the kettle so when I was waiting for it to boil I would put some on quickly then, it takes no time to brush it on and massage it in.

Absorbs well

I have used a few different brands of cuticle oil before and I normally become less interested within a few days as I found them time consuming. I was pleasantly surprised to find this cuticle oil actually absorbs fairly quickly so I don't have to wait around to long.

It's easy to use I just swipe off excess oil on the inside rim of the bottle and apply all over my cuticle and nails and then massage into my hands. It makes my cuticles, nail bed and hands feel soft and smooth. I really haven't noticed much difference in nail bed length but they look more healthy and well conditioned so I would recommend this.

Nail Salon Result

I got to review this product thanks to a review trial I was selected for. This product comes in a nice black and red box with a picture of the product on side. I thought the packaging looked real smart.

I really enjoyed using this product. It had the look and feel of when you have just had your nails done at the salon. Nails looked healthier, conditioned and cared for. I used this product daily after using the Revitanail Nail Strengthener. I love the ease of using this product and the results from using it. Is definitely something that I would continue using and potentially purchase in the future.

Tips: Apply as often as needed, and focus on massaging into the skin for about a minute. Also suit as a finishing touch for a manicure.

Love my 'new' nails!!

I was keen to try this product as my cuticles can get quite unsightly despite using hand cream often. The oil is easy to apply and absorbs quickly. I definitely noticed a softening of my cuticles, and improved appearance after using it daily for the last four weeks. I haven't had any peeling around my cuticles (not only unsightly but painful!) since the end of the first week of the trial. Love this product and would gladly recommend to family and friends.

Tips: Make sure your hands are warm when you apply the oil for faster absorption, it's also great used in conjunction with your regular hand cream.

Nourishing oil

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this nourishing oil. I have very weak nails. My cuticles get quite dry, and I have dry skin and hangnails around my fingernails. I also do a lot of manual handling in my job, which dries out the skin on my hands.

The nourishing oil can be applied to your cuticles everyday. It contains vitamin A and E. The nourishing oil is clear, and it comes in a glass 14ml clear nail polish bottle with a black lid. The oil has a very mild scent, and is easy to rub into the cuticles. The only disappointment is that the brush is quite small. I prefer those wide, flat brushes that some brands have introduced for nail products now.

I have also seen an improvement in my cuticles from using this oil everyday for 28 days. I get quite a lot of dry skin and hangnails around my nail bed and under my fingernails. Using the cuticle oil everyday has really helped to moisturise and soften my dry skin. There has definitely been an improvement.

I will keep going with this treatment now that the trial is done, and hopefully my cuticles will improve even more.

Underwhelming oil

Off the bat I can't say I'm a fan but I can't say I hate this oil. It is quite thin, but it sinks into my cuticles well. Unfortunately it does leave a oily film on my fingertips after rubbing it in, so I end up having to wipe my hands (not around my nails) before doing anything more. The brush is quite coarse, but not too worried about that given I just gently use it to deposit the oil.

My cuticles are in slightly better condition than they were, they still don't look great, but they don't catch on things as easily. One good thing about the oil is that it didn't hurt if it touched cuts/dermatitis, which is something I struggle with when it comes to nail products.

All up, I wanted to see more for everyday application for almost 4 weeks. Wouldn't buy myself.

Gorgeous nourishing oil

I was stoked to use this gorgeous oil as part of the revitanail trial. It comes in a cute red and black box with simple instructions. Simply brush onto your nails then massage in!

I love the subtle smell of this, it is beautiful. I really enjoyed massaging the oil in. It was very relaxing and was nice to take time out of my day for this. It left a bit of a greasy residue but I simply massaged it into my hands.

I had quite dry cuticles which looked pretty bad and after 4 weeks use of this the dryness has totally gone. Fantastic results. My nails look and feel amazing.

I have barely made a dent in the bottle so this will last me a very long time which is great. Totally recommend this oil. Luxurious and nourishing.

Underwhelming

I really, really, really wanted to love this. But sadly, it was not love at first sight (or even love after a month of religious trial). First off, nowhere could I find what oils are in the bottle. This was a concern, as the Revitanail Strengthener contains formaldehyde. But, let's pretend it's all kosher.

Sadly, the oils are watery. If that's even a thing. It wasn't nice and thick, nor did it smell overly pleasant. The brush is quite stiff and wiry, I would have liked a dropper better. It did rub in ok, but it felt a little too greasy.

I really didn't notice any improvement in the condition of my cuticles (and trust me, they were not in tip top condition to start with). An underwhelming, unknown quantity. I'll stick to my Skinfood Coco+Nut oil, or just good old Rosehip thanks.

Tips: Save your pennies - use oil already in your cupboard instead of shelling out extra for this.

Oh that's disappointing! I nearly bought some - glad I didn't. I'll stick with sweet almond oil. Thanks :)
