Its a Green Machine!

So again I heard of Lushes Lord of Misrule on the forum. This is where most of my purchases get enabled from. If you haven't been on the forum I encourage you to do so. So many recommendations come from there. The idea of getting a boxing day haul from there was genius and I certainly will be doing that again.

The Lord comes in Lushes Black and white labelled containers. Nothing fancy but they do their job nicely. Sturdy bottle I haven't had any breakages so far. Flip top lid easy to open and shut. I got a 250 ml bottle. The lord scent is described a being warm roasted vanilla with a michevious twist of spice that awakens your senses. This gel is a bright emerald green. Boy is it bright. Formulation of this gel is quite runny. Beware it splatters easily.

I try to use a small amount but it flows quite fast. I think I used way more than I should. Once foamed up its spreads evenly and theres no need to add more because this scent hit you instantly. Its like lathering spicy frankincense. It has a level of smokiness to it too.

The quality of Lushes body washes are undeniably good. Some may not be my favourite scents but I have enjoyed the quality of fragrance between each one. This one is my sons favourite . This scent stays on him to the next day. I have never had a shower gel do that for my kids. I feel like they safe are for my whole family to use being vegan. I have no doubt in my mind that I will purchase again for my whole family. Now to find a shower gel for my partner.

Hulk Hogan

I love the lord of misrule bath bomb and stocked up on them in the mid-winter limited edition release so when I heard there was a shower gel coming out in time for Halloween I was hoping I was in for that same mysterious scent in gel form. Also me being one of those annoying hoarders that expect some kind of zombie apocalypse I stocked up on bottles of the stuff. (Thank goodness I do love it)

The clear plastic bottles with the trademark black “lush” label are one of my favourite bottle types, clear is great as you always know how much you have and they are so easy to grab and squeeze in the shower. Now it could be me but I have been finding the flip top lids kind of hard to “flip” open now and have sliced my thumb in the process so now use a towel for a bit of grip to open them.

The colour of the shower gel is a bright deep green colour like spring grass leaping from the fields. It also has the added bonus of lustre too, leaving a slight shimmer on your skin when you pat dry your skin.

The consistency of the shower gel is very thin, almost like runny cream so you do have to be a wee bit careful when you squeeze it out as to not squeeze too hard or you will end up with a mess like I did the first time I used it!! I squeezed slightly too hard and ended up with a heap splattered on the bottom of the shower and blimey it is hard to wash away. The scent is just like the bath bomb except stronger, it’s herbally, peppery, musky almost masculine kind of scent but I love it for something a bit different and the man can use it (unlike snow fairy)

The scent lingers for hours! But it is quite strongly scented so beware if you don’t like the stronger ones. I have every finger crossed that this makes a comeback this year

Tips: be very careful pouring it out

Favourite!

This scent is absolutely amazing! By far my favourite!! I happened to get one of these in the boxing day sales for half price and after trying it went back and bought another bottle. The bright green colour definitely brightens up the shower and there is a slight shimmer to it (doesn't stick to your skin). I use this with a loufa and it bubbles up amazingly! Meaning you can wash your whole body with a small amount. I've used it every day since the end of December and i still haven't run out of my first bottle. Totally recommend!!

Favourite Lush smell, can't get enough!

Big sad that this is only available at select times of year! It should be available year round. I love this one because it's still sweet but in a more mature grown up way. It's a green shower gel- but it has more of a fresh cream texture. I use it on a pouffe and it spends easily over my body, with only a small amount of bubbles. I mainly use this after yoga - I've sweat out a heap of toxins so I don't want to drench my skin in more chemicals straight after so this is a perfect option. My skin is smooth, clean, soft and gently scented all day after using. I definitely have to give the shower a quick splash of water to remove any green smears after showering- but it just makes me more aware of what a messy showerer I am! It's one of my top 3 lush products.

Tips: I buy a big and a small size, and just keep refilling the smaller bottle- my family tends to be super generous with product when they know there is a lot available- but in the smaller bottle they use it more sparingly - and it's a perfect travel size too.

smells so good

I'm currently using a 100g bottle of this. I bought it kind of impulsively when I went in store last year. I had gone in to get rose jam, which I did get, but the lush lady told me to have a whiff of this one. I immediately liked the scent so decided to get a little bottle as well.

This is just in the typical lush shower gel bottle with the black cap. It has the made on and use by dates as well as the name of the person that made it. I like how this is also called a 'shower scream' instead of a cream as it is a Halloween product. Sadly this does me you can not purchase this all year round. What is slightly off putting about this, is the color. It is a very bright Green! Not just a hint of green but very in your face. It is nice to have something different but I did have my fingers crossed the first time I used it, that it wouldn't stain my skin (it didn't, phew!).

The scent of this is very strong of patchouli, it also smells very warm and has a hint of spice to it as well. Mine is very runny, I'm not sure why but it lathers up really good and makes me feel clean. The scent lasts on my body a little while, I do use scented lotions and perfume so they probably mask most of the scent. My bathroom always smells good for quite a while after too.

I ended up buying a 250g bottle in the lush boxing day sale and I'm so glad I did. This little bottle won't last long and I don't want to wait months to be able to purchase it again. I definitely recommend having a sniff if you see this in store over Halloween!

Beautiful Earthy Tone

I don't know alot about Lord Of Misrule..... I know it comes in a bath bomb and a shower gel and I believe it is a seasonal product??

I purchased a bath bomb from trademe after hearing the hype....It soon become easily one of my favourite scents that I have come across from Lush.

I purchased 100g for $8 from a buy sell page on fb. Which i thought wasn't to badly priced...I'm unaware what they go for normaly.

Man am I glad I glad i bought this shower gel! It's earthy, spice infused scent is sooooo beautiful, I love it! It's like taking a shower in the middle of the woods without actually taking a shower in the middle of the woods lol

Quite surprisngly this I thought was quite grainy feeling, and I did check to see if maybe it was the glitter in the gel that gave it this texture, but it wasn't (side note, the glitter doesn't stick to you, it washes away) It's not a harsh grainy texture you can barely feel it but it is noticeable, maybe it's not and I'm just mad lol

the liquid it self Isn't really a gel its quite runny! so be careful. I like to squirt 2 quick squirts onto my loofah and wash away. Lets talk lather, its green and it creates the most amazing moisturising foam bubbles.

After hoping out of the shower i find the smell lingers for a long time, I have smelt it the very next day on my skin still. this product is also very moisturising.

If you like not so sweet scents then yes i recommend you try this......bring on the day this product comes back out (if it does) I will be buying a stock pile.

Tips: Use a loofah with this gel as its quite runny and the loofah catches the product perfectly

AMAZING!

Okay, I'm still actually surprised that I'm writing a 5/5 review for Lord of Misrule, because up until very recently I thought it had the most disgusting scent and I didn't understand why it has such a cult following. Every time I sniffed it at Lush my reaction was basically disgust! BUT, that was before a sales assistant convinced me to try a demo of it on my skin. This product is super gentle and moisturising on the skin, and once it is washed off the fragrance which remains is a STUNNER. I absolutely adore the Lord of Misrule herbal, musky scent which is left behind on the skin. It somehow has that quintessential Lush smell, and it lingers on the skin for hours and makes the bathroom smell incredible. My advice would be if you hate the smell of it from the bottle, try some on your skin. You might be super surprised like me!

You either love it or hate it!

Lord of Misrule scent or LOR is no doubt one of Lush's scents that you either L.O.V.E or hate. One bathbomb in a Christmas gift pack (although part of their Halloween line) and I was hooked (I just want aware of its name or cult following). The scent is of (in my opinion) intense spice and pepper and very warming.

The shower cream is packaged in clear flip top bottle. It is also a handmade product in batches and they tell and show you who made it.

Product itself is thicker than other shower gels in the range and a deep green. I found it non drying and scent lingered for hours on my skin. It does lather fairly well so does last pretty well which is great as Lush isnt exactly cheap or overly accessable for a lot of people.

This product for me due to its release and smell is all things Xmas and I cant get enough. #❤LOR

Tips: Also great to use as a bubble bath, I find the scent super relaxing.

I shouldn't like this but I do!

Let me get this straight to start off with: I absolutely haaaaaaate the smell of patchouli. Loathe the stuff! It's one of those smells you either love or hate. To me it smells like unwashed hippies. So I should hate this as well, as it is patchouli based. But somehow I don't. Lord of Misrule is indeed mischievous and mysterious. To my nose, the patchouli is balanced out by the black pepper which rounds it out and warms it, with vanilla adding sweetness.

This is a Halloween release, hence it is a shower "scream" (Lush do love their puns!) It's is also bight emerald green in colour. This may be off putting to some but not this (almost) Halloween baby. It comes in the usual Lush bottle and I just got the smallest 100ml size. I find I tend to go off a lot of Lush smells when I get the larger bottles so I stick to the small size for ones I'm a bit unsure of. This has lasted me nearly two years as I have to be in the mood to use it. My bottle is past the expiry date but I find Lush shower gels last way past this, so long as you store them out of direct sunlight. It still works as well and smells the same as when I purchased it. LOM is due to be released again for this Halloween and I will be grabbing some more, so long as it can get it in the smaller bottle.

Love the bomb version but the gel?

When Lord of Misrule was released as a bath bomb, I tried one, fell in love and kept a stash of them as reserves to keep me going a while whilst they were off the shelves due to it being a limited edition seasonal release. This year saw the release of the Lord of Misrule shower gel so I grabbed the bottle without a second thought.

Packaging as with all Lush items are plain and universal to the brand in its clear plastic bottle, with black plastic cap and black label wrapped around its middle. Being understated is chic though and looks great in the shower, less messy and fussy which I love. Although the lid was a little resistant to pop open which might be due to false nails but it is pretty easy to just unscrew and take the lid off to operate so no big deal breaker there.

Inside sits the gloppy green that reminds me of those old early 90's kids shows, where it was all about the gunge, this colour matches my memory of those poor people getting dunked. Showing my age there so will quickly move on.... Quite a thick formula but it trickles out in a steady stream from the bottle, I pop into a shower lily/pouffe and create a foaming mess that easily gets my entire body cleansed in a snap. There is a fine shimmer effect that glistens silver through the gel that leaves a soft gleam on the skin, not too visible on my pale skin but I felt it there, which might be the piece of the formula that had me itching.

With the same wonderful scents as the bath bomb it is a sensory overload which is welcomed as I shower in the morning, this helps to awaken you. With spices, a deep musk and a herbal smells wafting around you it is a scent I would purchase if Lush ever evolved it into a perfume (which they sometimes do!)

However as I noted before, I got itching and after eliminating other factors it was down to this gel, which is odd as I don't have particularly sensitive skin but I got a little bit of red rash over parts of my skin and after every use I would complain of not feeling clean and be constantly scratching myself. Never had this problem with the bath bomb so will have to go back to those if they bring them back this year.
