Clay facial cleanser

I found it did smell really nice. But didn't taste very nice... not sure how I managed to get in my mouth while washing it off but I did. It left my skin feeling smooth and soft. And healthy looking.

It didnt really brighten my skin. But ive continued using it as it works better than my usual cleanser. And why better for my skin too.

I have very oily skin and it didn't help with that. But it seems to have helped with my achne a bit.

Tips: Do not get it in your mouth. It leaves a strange after taste in there....

Dries Me Out

I had heard great things about this product so was keen to try it.

It comes in a standard looking tube, very generous size though so lasts for ages. Packaging is basic looking, nothing out there.

Formula is weird - it's like washing your face with a mud mask but lathers up as a usual cleanser would.

When washing my face, it feels smooth and your skin comes out feeling squeaky clean. Unfortunately that is not good for me as I have dry skin. I felt it stripped any moisture I had left (which is not a heck of a lot) and my face felt really dry and tight.

I'm not sure if this is more for oily skin as it's not a product I ordinarily would have purchased for myself (it was in one of the BRBB so I didn't actually go looking for it).

I have since given it to my teenage boys to use and they seem to like it.

Tips: Don't squeeze out too much as I find it lathers that much that it feels like you are suffocating from the foam lol.

High hopes - average performance

Having previously tried the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask (Detoxify & Brighten) which is the same colour mask as the Detox Wash - I had very high hopes for the product as the mask had worked wonders.

The packaging is simple and works alongside the rest of the 'Pure Clay' range. It is easy to use and the product itself is a good consistency which means it is easy to control the amount you use.

The product has a typical clay smell and is charcoal in colour, it almost turns into a slight creamy foam when mixed with water. I washed my face in small circular motions avoiding the eye area.

Once rinsed off my face felt clean and fresh but it did feel a little bit dry which was something I was worried it might do. Once moisturiser was applied my skin felt good.

After using morning and night, I didnt really notice any improvements or any change to my skin, apart from the slight dryness once rinsed off.

Its an okay product but I dont think I will reach for it again, I have a few other washes that work better for me.

Tips: You only need a small amount and wash in small circular motions avoiding the eye area.

A deep clean for skin

I received this product in two BBBE boxes. I was definitely very keen to try this and expectations were high as it's had plenty of great reviews!

I have this cleanser in the shower - only a small amount of cleanser is needed, and some water, and you'll get a soapy consistency to apply to your skin. It rinses off really well and you immediately feel like your skin is refreshed and very clean (detoxed even!).

When applying it you certainly feel like it's working it's cleansing magic. After use my skin is bright and very clean afterwards.

There is a major BUT with this product for me, however - I find the strong chemical based scent to the cleanser really off putting. It's not a smell I've got used to as I continue to use the product. It's a really strong fume rather than a pleasant scent.

I also found the cleanser a little too thorough for my skin type, and felt it had stripped any oils from my skin, so my skin felt dry and tight afterwards. It's definitely too thorough for daily use with my skin. It is easily resolved with a serum and moisturiser afterwards - but my skin felt much better using it every other day.

I'll finish the tube, but unlikely to repurchase this one as it's just not suited to me & my skin type I suspect.

Tips: Use a very tiny amount as it foams up quite easily.

Okay

Unfortunately I didnt fall in love with the wash as much as I did the mask. The wash has a smell I found slightly unpleasant. It is quite a runny liquid you need to be careful with how much you squeeze out. When applying the wash to my face, it took a while to lather up and to create a foam, (but that may be because I had too much on my hands?) It did leave my skin feeling clean without drying it out.

Tips: Maybe lather it in your hands with water before applying to face?

In its first win league

I received this in a BBE box and I was quite surprised by it. The tube is user friendly which is a win win with me. It has a flip top lid which is sits flat on when not in use. The green colour close to mint is something that you can identify easily on the shelves at the supermarket because there isn't another brand or product that I know of that has the same or similar in colour. The size is good too. The product inside is a black shade(total game changer there) and comes out like a toothpaste consistency it has a somewhat fresh scent but that is a strong to the nose scent which got me a tad concerned in fair of reaction. A little goes a long way so remember that.. When applying it working it into my skin with wet hands it does foam a tad and washes off easily with water but a face cloth can be helpful to get it of aswell. The after effect is clean tight skin. However I found after a few consecutive days of use I did break out. There could be a few reasons why this occurred. One being a new product. Two the scent could be irritated my skin. Three foaming action was too much for my oily combo skin type. Four and final could have had nothing to do with the product and I just broke out. What I've done now is use it alternatively with my normal cleanser 1 a week or fortnight as a deep cleanser helping to remove makeup buildup and it works just fine that way. Enjoy

Tips: A little goes a long way. For the sensitive of skin sisters out there I suggest using it less and alternating with your normal face wash.

Pretty Good

I got this clay wash in a BBBE.

It comes in a lovely green tube with a flip top. The product squeezes out easily. It is a thick green gel, and has a lovely smell. I've been applying as per the instructions, applying to damp skin, massaging in small circles, then rinsing. I have learned that the longer you leave it on, the longer it takes to remove.

I find it leaves my skin clean and soft. It says it detoxifies, brightens, and cleanses, and it does a pretty good job of all of these three claims. I'm going to use it every day until the tube is empty to see what it does over time, and will update at the end.

But so far I think that at $14.99 it is a good price for a good product of this type. Definitely worth a try.

Black gooey goodness, perfect for heavy makeup

I was most excited about trying this face wash as the clay mask version of this is my absolute favourite, and yes, as expected this is my favourite face wash as well from the Pure Clay collection by L’Oréal. The gel is super slimy and massages really well into your skin leaving a delicate foaming sensation behind rather than a big lather. I love that it is the color black, and i can see exactly where it's going on my face, so no missed spots. It smells exactly like the mask, which is fresh and citric. It’s quite cold when you apply it and feels sticky and smooth at the same time.

The results? Darn good. It’s the perfect thing to use after having make up on the entire day. It washes it away so well, leaving your skin not only looking fresh and bright, but also feeling fresh, smooth, and clean.

Highly recommend especially for those of us who wear a face full of make up on a daily basis.

Tips: It’s super runny when you’re squeezing it out of the tube so make sure to catch it all before you drip any.

Pure Clay Heaven

The L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Face Wash is gentle enough to use every day.

I applied the face wash on my face in a gentle circular motion. It has a sticky consistency and as with the pure clay detox mask and a little goes a long way. After the first use my skin felt lovely and soft and gave my skin a refreshed feeling.

It is mildly exfoliating, and makes use of charcoal to help draw any impurities from your skin. I am prone to black heads on my nose so am really looking forward to.seeing how this product will tackle those. Overall a pleasant product to use

L'Oréal Clay Detox wash

I was really impressed with this product. I feel like it is starting to cleanse and detox my skin properly rather than just washing off the excess dirt and makeup on top of it. My skin felt quite dry straight after washing it off but it softened up pretty quickly and felt clean and fresh
