Tries hard, but not quite there yet....

I picked this up in an Australis buy one, get one half price deal when I got one of my Velourlips.

I opted to buy the Australis Colour Corrector in Gold (there are different colours) because it specified things I am having issues with as being things it targets, namely dark circles, and signs of fatigue.

This product comes in a cheap looking plastic tube - most of the Australis products have reasonably cute packaging but this seems a bit of an afterthought. Packaging for face and base products isn't the be all and end all though, and I like that it opens at the base, though wish it were a flip cap not a screw cap as it's always hard to rescrew on a cap with product on your fingers.

The product is a thin, odourless cream with a definite pearlescent gold shimmer that fades out a lot as you spread the product out. I feel like if it were thicker if would be more effective. It creates a nice reflective glow, but doesn't (for me) cover the dark circles very well. So saying, my skin is very pale and my dark circles are very dark, so the fact that it covers them at all is actually impressive. It pales in comparison to the other product I've been using against them, though.

Because this is so thin it doesn't really stand up to being covered over with foundation, no matter how it's applied. Again, I think if it were thicker It would be better. I'm seriously tempted to mix it in with my foundation and see what happens!

I wouldn't rebuy this but I'll use the tube - I think it might be pretty in summer as a highlighter if nothing else.

Average

I brought this from Kmart because it was reasonably priced. I brought the colour corrector in gold because i have dark undereye circles. The product says it reduces the appearance of dark circles - emphasis needs to be placed on REDUCED. It defintely does not cover them. It does reduce the look of them, but I would not recommend to use on its own. I always use over top of my concealer and I have much better results. The product is quite thin, and i feel like if it was thicker, it would perform a lot better. it can also be used as a illuminator, which is what I mainly use it for - on tops of cheeks, brown bone. Again its not the best, but it does the trick. Was really disappointed because I quite like australis products, but this one just did not do what it said it would do.

Australis Colour Corrector Gold

I brought this in the gold shade roughly 2 months ago as it claims to reduce the appearance of dark circles and signs of it fatigue illuminating and brightening the skin and I definitely need help with that.

How comes and a small tube with a screw on lid. That consistency is very thin and it is a beautiful gold colour with a slight shimmer to it. It has a very mild sent which I can't pinpoint but it is very pleasant.

To use it says to simply apply gentle dabbing motions and Blend into dark areas particularly around the eyes then apply concealer and foundation as normal.

I did this on multiple occasions however I did not like the after effect that it left me with under my eyes. I felt like my under eye area looked quite orangery in colour and I felt that this product really accentuated my wrinkles and crinkles! Who wants help with that No thank you! It did not camouflage my dark under eye circles as it claims to.

I have tried this product as a highlighter under my brows which I absolutely love as it gives a lovely shimmer.

Would I purchase this again personally no I wouldn't however I am still keen to try that other shades in this colour corrector product and see if they are any better.

Tips: A little goes a long way

Little Lifesaver

I found this product entirely by accident during on shopping trip . I liked that it promised to cancel out redness and purchased it , not expecting much . My first time using it I was hooked ! Suffering extremely red cheeks since a young age that concealors and foundations alone cannot cover , Australis Colour Corrector is magic ! The tiniest amount of the product instantly conceals the red colouring , and once foundation is added you cannot see redness at all . Austalis Colour Corrector is extremely affordable , lasts for all day wear and I highly reccommend it !

Like them both

I had both of these correctors and used them daily.

Gold- The gold corrector has a slight shimmer to it. I used it on my under eye area under concealer and it helped with dark circles like you would believe. It lasted all day and didn't crease at all.

Green- I liked this one a little less but I did like it. I found you have to use a small amount and build if need be. It covered the redness of pimples very well and helped hide redness around my nose.

I would repurchase if I could find it in stores!

Helps with my red cheeks

I have hated my red cheeks for years and years and was super skeptical about this working.

It is quite a sheer formula, green in colour which cancels out some of the redness in your skin when applied. You can easily wear it alone or put foundation or BB Cream over the top and no one will know.

I like that it gave my skin a dewey finish although it did feel a little greasy.

It did what it said it would and the price is totally worth it.

Thanks Dayna :) I just got E.L.F's mineral infused face primer in green and have only used it once but first impressions are amazing. I like it a lot more than this :)
