Artiste Angled Foundation Brush

I received this brush from one of my vault purchases thank you BR.

I have been wanting to try out new brushes and brands but can't afford to spend lots of money on them incase I don't like them so I thought getting some through the vault would be a great way to trial these without breaking my pocket.

I have always been interested in angled foundation brushes and sadly I was disappointed.

The brush itself is sleek looking and simple to use but it did not apply my foundation nicely at all. It left my foundation looking extremely streaky and over the course of a few weeks I've tried three different foundations of mine with the same brush but sadlu all came out streaky. I really wanted to like this brush but I'm glad that I personally didn't send roughly $28 on it because I would have been hugely disappointed.

I guess on a plus note this brush was easy to clean and didn't hold onto the product.

I personally wouldn't recommend this style of brush however I think the brand is fantastic and I have other brushes from this brand that are amazing.

Tips: I actually use this brush more for applying my face masks

It might work wonders for you but for me it's better with face masks hahaha

I grabbed this brush in last weekend's Beauty Vault despite it's low review scores as I'm desperately in need of a foundation brush. If it's not fit for purpose I definitely have face masks which I can apply using it - great tip!

Dragons Blood Serum

I was so excited to trial this thank you BR. Any help with the wrinkles is appreciated ;-)

It comes in a 30ml pump bottle. It's quite fancy. The consistency is a semi thick off white serum.

I have been trialing this product for almost three weeks. Morning and evening, I gently massage two pumps of serum in a small circular motion all over my face and neck.

It absorbs easily into my skin. Doesn't leave any sticky feeling which is great. I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin. Especially around my eyes where I had lots of sagging skin. It has visibly lifted it and my skin looks tighter too. I think I'm in love!

I would highly recommend and plan on purchasing this along with the Dragons Blood moisturiser too.

Tips: A small amount goes a long way. Apply before you moring/evening moisturiser.

Honestly love it. I just received the Dragons Blood eye cream from the vault so can't wait to try it out too!

Ohhhhh looks like I'll have to add this to my list :-) I'm quite excited at the prospect of what my skin could look like after using the combination of the serum and moisturiser!

It sounds amazing Sandy. I'm keen to try it too.

5/5 for me

I am fortunate enough to be trialing these products thank you BR.

There are three products. I will give a description of each and then review the three combined.

MIRACLE BOOST YOUTH PRE-ESSENCE: This is in a bottle with a dropper. The packaging is sleek, red with a silver lid. To dispense the product you unscrew the lid which automatically fills the dropper, press the pump lid to release the product. Simple. It has a weak scent that I can't pinpoint but it's ok. It's recommended to use two droppers before using the day and night moisturizer which I did. It feels like a silky serum when applying and doesn't take long to absorb into your skin. It is recommended to avoid the eye and lip area.

MICRO-SCULPTING DAY CREAM: Comes in a round pottle, silver srew lid. It had another 'lid' inside which I threw away as it bugged me. The consistency is a white thick silky cream. Again a mild nice scent. Easily absorbs into your skin. You only need a small amount. Avoid contact with eyes.

MICRO-SCULPTING NIGHT CREAM: Same packaging as the day cream. Again a mild scent but can't pinpoint it sorry. The consistency is a semi thick gel/cream. I would say more of a gel. So silky to apply. Avoid contact with your eyes as well because it stings.

I have been using these for just over three weeks now. Miracle Boost in the morning and evening followed by the day cream and night gel. I throughly enjoy using these and will definitely be repurchasing. I've hardly made a dent in the two creams so they'll last a couple of months but I'll need to buy the miracle boost in roughly two weeks time.

I have noticed a definite change in my skin. It seems tighter, my red pigmentation on my ckeeks looks like its fading, I can't believe that one! I have two deep creases along my forehead which seem mildly smaller and my fine lines around my eyes are becoming finer so I think with more time, I could definitely turn back the clock on my skin.

I had no reactions and would highly recommend these.

Tips: I can not say how each product would work by itself as I obviously used all three together. I feel that they would work better together.

Rubbing in upwards circular motions is recommended when moisturising.

Ive been having problems uploading too. I go on my tablet for photos and forum . I would love to see before and after photos.

I love it Macs :-) I've been trying to upload photos but it's not working for some reason? Will keep trying though

Sounds wonderful . I'll be adding this to my wishlist

Move along folks, no miracle here :(

Sorry Max Factor! Sorry BR! Maybe my skin is at fault here but this just didn't deliver on promises for me, I'm sad to say.

The shade selection was simple, there were actually three shades I could have worn, which is awesome. I chose 'Natural' in the end, and it's the perfect shade match for me in terms of colour.

The packaging is a little bit unappealing to me, to be honest...the glass bottle is nice, but the clear plastic cap (which soon collects smears of foundation) and the black dispenser pump (which looks messy after just a few uses) make the product look less clean, and i think the gold and black labelling looks outdated. For a new product, this looks decidedly 90's.

The foundation itself is slightly glossy when pumped out, and the pump dispenses a good amount. The foundation is a mid consistency, so spreads well. However, once it's on, it's very sheer, even with multiple layers, and it absorbs into skin somehow, I feel like it disappears, and settles into my skin. I took a photo not long after application and it didn't look like I was wearing foundation at all, despite having a couple of well applied layers on.

Initially after application it feels nice on skin, but as it settles, it oxidises. My face was oily by the end of the day, and I broke out really badly down both sides of my nose, and slightly on cheek and chin; I'm 36 and rarely get more than the occasional pimple. I tried a few days on, then didn't take it away for the weekend, and my skin cleared. I tried again, and got more pimples in the same places, so it's the foundation that's to blame.

Unfortunately, I have reached the conclusion that this isn't suitable for my skin, which is type normal usually. Because it broke me out, I'm disinclined to continue use - but I'll find a good home for it :)

Tips: the testers in store are a good size - see if you can ask them if you can portion out a face full to take home and try.

I have a different Max Factor foundation and I always get breakouts when I use it too so I find that interesting!

Oh no kirsty, you could be right! I'm not normally one for sensitive skin and breakout reactions either

Interesting. I got a different one but it broke me out as well. Wonder what ingredient it is!

Why won't you love me!?

My skin but better you say? Sign me up. I am not a big foundation wearer, sometimes it's just too heavy and my skin can't deal. So when this promised light weight, imperfection blurring and to enhance my skin with its magic powers I was stoked and more than willing to slap it on my face.

The packaging... Eh. The plastic lid is flimsy and if I shake the bottle I can hear the lid wobbling and clinking with the glass. It's probably secure enough for travelling but a little bit of sellotape never hurt. The glass bottle I like, but the lack of information on the bottle annoys me.

The foundation itself is visible thanks to the clear bottle, and it pumps out a nice large dollop, and I found 2 was sufficient for light coverage. The consistency is quite thick, if it was a meringue it would be a little bit after the soft peak stage! On first sniff I got a strong smell of nuts, but it has since morphed into a weird 2 minute noodle smell. Thankfully it goes away when it's on your face, but it is a weird smell to have and I'm not sure I like it. The one cool thing about this foundation is that I can see little gold flecks all throughout, and I guess that's how it makes you look dewy!

I have been applying this with a damp beauty sponge. I find that it's the best method that worked for me - with my fingers the foundation just slid around, and it was like trying to wash oil out of a pan, it kinda didn't sit in place, just swished around. With the damp sponge it sat on my face a lot nicer. I don't have a brush so unfortunately I couldn't try that method.

I believe I have the lightest shade available - Light Ivory. It's a pretty good match, when first applied it is quite white and makes me look a bit like a ghost, but it does oxidize a bit and eventually matched my skin quite well. I found that using too much would cause the foundation to go cakey, and after several hours there was definite separation around my chin and nose area, even though it was set with a powder. Everywhere else was fine - I'd be more inclined to use a matte primer next time on those areas as well. Setting the foundation ultimately made me like it a lot more. On it's own it's terrible but the powder set it in place and just made it a lot more tolerable.

As for blurring and nourishing, it kind of delivers. Using only 2 pumps it semi covered my slightly red cheeks, but it covered up red angry acne spots very well. I don't think it really nourished my skin either, in fact I think it was the reason I had the pimples in the first place.

So unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love this, I just don't think I can. It's not something I would purchase myself, and next time I would want to go and get samples.

Tips: It oxidizes quite a lot so my suggestion would be to get a shade lighter if you can! And if you can, find your nearest counter and get samples :-)

Ressurfaced my skin!

I was excited to be offered an opportunity on this trial team. This range claims to resurface and renourish ageing or damaged skin. This is my first time using this type of skincare.

STEP 1- CLARIFY -Glycolic Clarifying Cleanser

This bottle came in a pump bottle. Each pump disperses enough for one application making it last a very long time. The consistency is smooth white with a fresh musky floral scent. I put this on for ten minutes each time morning and night for the duration of two weeks on. At first I feel a tingling sensation . It's not painful and I notice it goes away by the second week of use. This process feels like a cleaning cleansing effect. My skin is still feels hydrated, hasn't tightened like others I've tried.

STEP 2 - RESSURFACE- Micro Cellular Age Correcting Peel

This bottle is also in a pump plastic bottle. The consistency of this is like a clear gel. It smells like a strong alcohol with floral mixed in. Very Weird smell almost like a bad perfume. When I first put it on I felt a burning sensation. This went away after a couple of minutes. I notice as I progress with this peel on every second night it's like I can't feel any burning or tingling. My skin appeared red on the first week but notice that it's fully restored by the second to third week.

STEP 3 - REVIVE- Tri Collagen Accelerating Serum

This bottle was the show stopper amongst the other skincare packaging. It has this pearlescent white glass. The most beautiful serum bottle I've ever owned. The dropper is good quality too . The texture of this serum feels soft and more refined. It has a soft musk scent that lingers after use. It works its magic after each cleanse and peel. My skin feels glowy as time goes on .

STEP 4 - RESTORE- Antioxidant Regenerative Cream

This came in a large sized pot. I had to ask my partner how to work this one. He showed me that I push down on the plastic and it pushes out enough cream for each use. This way I guess the cream isnt exposed . The texture of it is smooth creamy non greasy softly fragranced. This part feels like I'm giving my skin food to nourish and heal. I would have liked some SPF Added to the formula of it.

STEP 5 - DETOX- Enzymatic Detoxifying Mask

This one came in a long thin tube. Similar branding to the other bottles. The colour of it is a light purple shade quite light creamy consistency. I put this on once a week. I feel a slight tingle with this but it goes away with time.

When I first started this skincare system my skin was red and dry in an awful condition. During the course of six weeks I saw my skin transform from being red and dry to being smooth , hydrated glowy skin. There was a small reduction with my fine lines . This is the best skincare system I've ever tried. It's ideal for resurfacing and restoring skin. Definately worth its price. I had my doubts but I was wrong. It worked well for me.

Yeah its out of my price range too. Its the best skincare system I've used to date.

Awesome Macs :-) I'd love to try this brand but it's out of my price range unfortunately. Have loved reading the reviews on it though.

Thank you Fi. Oh my skin is in beautiful condition. I'm glad I didn't chicken out.

Great review lovley :) worked wonders for me as well x

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer

I was very grateful when a lovey BR beauty gave me one of these as I love trying out new products.

They come in a small tube with an elegant looking lid and writing.

I have the purple (anti aging) primer. The consistency is thin but not too runny and a shade of medium brown. I personally feel that there is no scent.

To use I simply dab a very small amount onto my eyelids and gently rub across and let dry which is a matter of seconds, then I apply my eyeshadows like normal.

I have found that my eyeshadow last all day long and into the evening which is great but I also personally feel like there is no huge difference between this primer and one of my cheaper primers as they both do the same job in keeping my eyeshadow in place.

I would recommend this primer but I won't be purchasing it for the reason above, my cheaper primer does the same trick ;-) but I have nothing negative to say about this product though.

it really is great and the small tube will last a long time

I have just started using eye primers, this is on my must try list.

Eco minerals Foundation - Beige

I was so grateful to be selected to trial this product. I am yet to find my holy grail foundation but this product comes close.

It comes in a round pottle with a screw on lid. Inside is a plastic seal which turns to release small amounts of powder. It has no scent. I also received the Ecos Kabuki brush which was a awesome surprise thank you!

These products are eco friendly and natural which is lovely. I found their website easy to use and helpful with choosing the correct shade and finish for me.

I have the shade Beige in a matte finish.

I hadn't owned a minerals foundation before so looked up on YouTube to make sure that I would apply it correctly. It seemed so easy and it was.

I applied my moisturizer and face primer as normal, shake a small amount of powder into the lid, then swirled the Eco Minerals Kabuki brush to apply small amounts of powder onto my cheeks first. I have a lot of red pigmentation on my cheeks so wanted to concentrate on this area first to give more coverage. Then I applied more powder in circular motion all over my face. The kabuki brush was so soft to use and applied the product evenly but I just didn't end up with the coverage I was after. The finished look was natural and soft, but I decided to try something different the next day.

So the next day I applied some BB Cream over my cheeks, then applied the foundation like the previous day. Yes I had achieved the coverage I was after! I'm loving the soft natural finish of this powder. And remember that I have lots of red pigmentation on my cheeks to cover so you may not need BB Crean like I do :-)

I found this powder to have great staying power. Lasting majority of the day and I didn't do any touch ups either.

I also love that this product lasts for 24 months as I was worried about not being able to use it all up before expiry as you only need to use small amounts but I definitely will.

Eco Minerals also does a refill for this product which is fantastic! I'd highly recommend you try this Minerals foundation and I will be purchasing a refill when the time comes.

Tips: If you have areas that need more coverage, use a smaller brush to apply/dab the powder before applying all over your face.

Designer Brands Nail Polish Remover

I received this in one of my Lusthaveit monthly subscription bags.

It comes in a small round black and purple plastic bottle with instructions on how to use on the side. The lid is a screw on lid.

It claims to have a berry scent which I personally found to be quite mild.

Inside the bottle is a big black sponge that you simply put your finger nail into, twist your finger around once or twice and the nail polish is removed instantly. Simple as that.

I would recommend this product and have purchased more for my daughter who is into nail art. Such a simple, easy product to use and actually works without leaving a nasty mess everywhere.

Tips: This is so easy to use that tips aren't needed ;-)

Thanks for that hun, I notice they have 2-3 types so will have a look :-)

Not that I could see hun. It just states that it is vegen and has no parabens, phthalates, sulfates or triclosan in it.

Has this got Acetone in it hun?

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

I was so grateful to be given this lipstick from a beautiful BR babe. The shade she gifted me is Melted Fuchsia, such a vibrant pink.

It comes in a small fuchsia coloured tube with a gold lid and writing. Very pretty.

It is super easy to apply and didn't bleed on my lips either which is great. The staying power is amazing! Lasting for around 6 hours before it needed to be touched up.

I did however find it to be quite drying as it is a matte lipstick so I suggest applying lip balm before hand and at the end of the day to keep your lips hydrated.

I personally feel that the price is high considering that it is such a small tube which is the only reason why I won't be purchasing any other shades :( but it's Too Faced which is a fabulous brand and I would highly recommend it.
