Missed the bar with this one Revlon

I purchased this is both Khaki Suede (which contains a khaki, light mint green and two neutral brown shades) and Not Just Nudes (which is just nudes? and contains four brown neutral shades ranging from darker brown to a light skin tone shade).

I actually purchased this more recently after loving the maybelline color tattoos and just starting to get into cream shadows a bit more. Unfortunately, these missed the bar by a long shot in comparison to maybellines color tattoos (which I highly recommend by the way, especially over these).

In the pan the shades look like they are going to be pigmented but on the lid this just does not translate. They have very subtle pigmentation which isn't very build-able. This makes them okay for everyday subtle looks but no use for more dramatic looks. The only benefit of this sheerness is that they feel very lightweight on the lid, which I do like.

I found the shadows to be really nice and blendable due to there creamy formulation and didn't have issues with creasing (although this isn't a problem I have very often with any shadows). I applied the base colour with a finger and found it slid on the slid fantastically and then used a small firm eye shadow crease brush to apply a darker shade in the crease and outer corner and a lighter shade under the brow-bone.

I like the idea of having a smaller amount of a range of creme shadow shades and think these would be a hit if the product performed more like the maybelline colour tattoos. I haven't actually tried these as a base under powder eye shadow but assume they would be fine for that just like the maybelline color tattoos.

I only paid $10 for each of these palettes so I don't think they are horrible for the amount I paid but would definitely not pay full price for them or ever repurchase. I wouldn't recommend these but will continue to use them for subtle looks as they are a quick and easy product.

Tips: Pass on these and get yourself some Maybelline Color Tattoos if you are after some creme shadows.

Revlon Creme Shadow - Disapointing

I'm a bit of a cream eyeshadow novice and a while ago I purchased this palette in Not Just Nudes. I was attracted by how pretty and pigmented the colours looked in the palette, I'm a sucker for neutral eye shades. I applied with my finger and it goes on really easily, feeling light and creamy upon the lid. The colour was very sheer though and not buildable at all and I found it creases and wears off easily I still wear it as a light makeup look for work but I don't think I would repurchase.

Not Worth It

I bought these mainly because it was on sale, and I wanted something as a base to make my eye shadows more vibrant. I really don't like them though, they just crease so quickly and when I put powdered eye shadow on top it applies really patchy. I have tried to get it to work for me a couple of times using different techniques, but nothing really seems to work. It's a pity because I really like the colours.

Nice idea but not pigmented enough

I usually love cream eyeshadows but these were a bit of a disappointment!

I have hazel eyes and thought it would be fun to see what the Eternal Summer quad was like (it's the one pictured above) because the colours looked gorgeous! However, they are nowhere near pigmented enough to show up on my eyelids (I have fair, yellow-toned skin) even with a primer! As a last resort I tried covering my lids in a white kohl base but the shadows still weren't strong enough to give a worthwhile finish!

They also crease very quickly and easily, even when applied over primer and set with a make-up fixing spray. Although they did stay put for most of the day in fine, dry (not too hot) weather, I wouldn't trust them to stay put in the heat or if my eyelids were particularly greasy.

They're nice and easy to get out of their pans with either your fingers or an eyeshadow brush which I liked! The texture is also quite nice - I didn't expect them to be so smooth considering they have a faint shimmer to them. My eyes can be quite sensitive at times too, and these didn't irritate them at all.

Overall, though, I won't be repurchasing these shadows. I've found much better quality cream eyeshadows in cheaper brands!

Not Just Nudes.

I bought this a long, long time ago at Uncle Bills when I was first experimenting with more neutral shades of makeup.

At the time of purchase, I hadn't had a lot of experience with Revlon products but friends had recommended the brand to me. I saw this for a cheap price, liked the idea of cream shadows and bought it.

The first thing I noticed was how gorgeous the colours looked in their pans. They looked really pigmented and beautiful.

The shadows are deliciously creamy and super, super easy to blend out (perfect for a beginner). However, the pigmentation is incredibly sheer. Even after building two layers, it is still really sheer. I also found that these crease rather badly The creasing only gets worse with the more layers you apply.

Even with primer I found these super sheer and they still creased (although slightly less with primer). I prefer to apply cream shadows with my fingers as I feel they apply better, although I tried these with a brush as well and they looked streaky and gross.

The size of the palette makes it convenient to throw in your handbag if you want and I think the shadows would work better as a base, although I don't like how much these creased on me so I won't use them as such.

I definitely wouldn't pay $23.95 for these and, to be honest, I wouldn't ever purchase these again. I gave my sister my palette and she also disliked it.

Tips: If you want decent cream shadows to wear either alone or as a base, I recommend Maybeline's Colour Tattoos over these. The quality of these doesn't stand up to Revlon's reputation.

Revlon Crease cream

I was thrilled to find the Black Magic Crème shadow a few years ago, it has a white, black, pink and silver which I thought would make the perfect smokey eye! I purchased mine for $20 which I thought was quite expensive back in my student days but who doesn't love Revlon!??

Testing my very first crème eye shadows I was super excited! After priming my eyelids I tried applying the crème eye shadows with my brush, they glide on very smooth, quite soothing on your eyelids, I tried to do silver in the corner of my eye duct then pink and black on the outer corner, the silver and pink was very faint, I tried adding more which just made my lids heavy. Soon after wearing my smokey eye I noticed it creased and started wearing off where my crease was, I didn't want to give up easily because Im a Revlon fan! So a few days later I did the exact same thing but added eyeshadow on top to "seal" the crème which is what I do sometimes with my gel liners, and that also failed, I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong? I did it exactly as it was directed to do but it never worked. I thought maybe because I was still new at makeup I wasn't doing it properly but talking to a few other makeup friends they had the same problem. I tried a few more times before giving up, Ive seen a few farmers store selling them for $10 but I cant bring myself to try these again.

I wouldn't recommend these to anyone, they need to recall these back or stop selling these and work on their formula and pigmentation. I am still a Revlon fan.

Revlon cream shadows

I purchased these as I didn't own many cream eyeshadows and the colours looked amazing in the compact and I thought it would be great for a smokey eye. (I have the one with the white, silver, pink and blackish grey). These apply nicely and have a smooth consistency that is easily blended, the colour pay off is good and can be buildable. However after a short amount of time these did crease and they creased a lot even when using a primer.

Tips: I recommend trying maybelline colour tattoos instead

Revlon Illuminance Crease Shadow

This was one of my first creme shadow palettes. A friend gave this to me for my birthday in Wild Orchids because she knew I loved makeup. Gorgeous purply shades. I put this on and it illuminated my eyes and made them pop. I stood back admired my handiwork and then left the mirror. Half an hour later I'm doing the final check before I leave the house and my eyeshadow has creased badly. I've got like only eyeshadow in the crease and the ends of my eye. Not one to throw away a pretty palette I fix up my make up and next time I apply a base and powder. Thirty minutes later it's still creased. I ended up giving the palette back to the friend and hoping it worked better on her.

Tips: If you have one of these in more lipstick friendly shades you can try re-purposing it for your lips. By using a dab in the center of you bottom lip after applying lipstick to add fullness and a bit of shine.

There are better cream shadows out there

I have 2 of these, one in Not Just Nudes and the one pictured (I don't recall the name). First of all I am SO glad I didn't pay full price for these as they are really not worth it at all. The one pictured is very greasy feeling with chunky sparkles in it, the colours are sheer and blend away to nothing. I do quite like the Not Just Nudes palette as it has a really nice cream shade in it with no sparkle, I find that these were more creamy and pigmented than the palette mentioned before. I wouldn't dare wear these on their own, you most definitely need a primer and a good one. I found this actually worked quite well over my Jordana eye base but I did also lightly layer a powder eyeshadow on top - still no creasing though. I definitely wouldn't suggest these to anyone as there are much better quality cream shadows out there for a much better price.
