Soap & Glory Hand Food - Hydrating Hand Cream Review

Use to carry this around in my purse as I always have dry skin especially on the hands! Smells great, the texture is thick too which I love :)

This is a super sweet smelling hand cream. It provides a good amount of moisture and while this isn't the best that I have used I would use it again. It comes in two sizes and scents which are both sweet and fun. I bought both scents in the small size which is perfect to chuck in your handbag.

I was given the smaller one as part of a gift which was great. I love the cute packaging. It is reasonably hydrating etc but wouldn't call it holy Grail status. My only issue would be the smell ... I really didn't like it. Overall a nice hand cream with lovely packaging and great for gifts

When my hand cream finally arrived, i flicked opened the cap just so i could just take a light sniff of it, and oh my... i couldn’t take my nose off it. I should really finish the older hand creams first, but the sweetness of this hand cream was just mmm... i just couldn’t resist. Ok it’s going in my hand bag.

The hand cream was nice and thick, and was absorbed quite quickly by my hands.. so it didn’t feel overly greasy at all... but soft and smooth. Surprisingly, the perfume in this handcream did not dry the back of my hands, as my hands are quite prone to drying compared to my face.

The smell is not overpowering, so makes a wonderful at-work hand cream for those who need something that smells good, but absorbs quickly at the same time. And with this yummy, light perfumery scent, there is no need to use perfume. It’s a bonus.

I got the 50 ml for $5 just to try it out first, as i never tend to finish a tube of hand cream without getting another. However, i have a feeling, i can easily finish this one. It’s totally affordable and totally worth the price. It’s a light scent and a hand moisturiser all in one. Its a perfect size to keep in your handbag for on the go.

For those who don’t have too oily (as it’s quite hydrating) or perfume-sensitive hands, it’s worth a try. It’s definitely one i would love to share with my dear friends.

The reason why i didn’t give it a full 5/5 is that i still prefer natural ingredients in a hand crean. If this hand cream smelled just as amazing, but not because of the added perfume, i would definitely have given it a special 5/5.

I'm always on the look-out for a good hand cream as I get dry hands - particularly around the finger joints - due the colder winter weather and from frequent hand-washing during the day. I first tried Hand Food after receiving it in a Soap & Glory Advent Calendar a few years ago. With the Soap & Glory signature 'Original Pink' scent, this hand cream smells divine! The scent is fresh and floral, and lingers for a while after application which I love. The cream absorbs quickly, is hydrating and non-greasy, just like the tube claims. I definitely notice the difference in the softness of my hands after applying. The only downside is that the cream is quite light - this is perfect for summer, but I would prefer a slightly heavier cream for winter. I find that I need to use a little more cream in winter to really feel the effects,so I usually apply a little extra each time to the driest parts of my hands to really feel the benefit. This is a very good hand cream, and at a great price too.

Argh words can't express my love for Soap & Glory, it's almost up there with Lush. Their Hand Food is such a fab product and super affordable, even though it's probably one of the best hand creams I've ever tried. The lotion is the perfect thickness, and has a delicate but lovely scent. It leaves hands soft and cared for without being overly greasy, and helps massively to reduce dryness. It's from a great brand that doesn't test on animals, and comes in the cutest pink packaging you'll ever see. Honestly, what's not to love?

Soap and Glory are the absolute masters of body products. They've nailed the most amazing formulas, cutest packaging and done it all for a miniscule pricetag that gets me Mecca Beauty Loop points. I've been sold on these for ages and now I can get them in NZ I'm so so happy.

But I digress......

The Hand Food actually comes in a wee half price, half sized handbag option as well - $4 ish for 50 mls. I'd recommend getting the smaller size to carry around.

Packaging is the typical S&G dusky pink with graphic labelling that is sturdy enough not to leak when thrown into bags and carted around on planes (trust me on that one!)

The cream is very thick - borderline body butter consistency - and white, with a delicate scent that is apparently rose and bergamot. Other key ingredients are shea butter, macadamia oil and (interestingly) marshmallow.

It absorbs pretty quickly - not super fast but it *is* really thick, and the residue isn't at all greasy. Hands are left with a soft scent, and lusciously hydrated.

It's so cheap you could apply it a dozen times a day if you needed to, but you really won't, it gets the job done.
