The Cleopatra Fringe - yay or nay?

The world has completed it's orbit many a time - enough for us to know that trends come and go.  And come back again.

The Farrah flick, the Pob, the Pixie.  And of course - the Cleopatra fringe.

It seems every celebrity has at one point sported the blunt, precise fringe, iconically seen on Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the world's longest film* Cleopatra.  And with the Egyptian resurrection in jewellery and fashion circles, it looks like this fringe is on it's way back in fashion.

The square shaped fringe needs a steady hand both in the chopping and the styling.  Immaculate and straight are what you should be aiming for, and if you're feeling really game, you can channel your inner toddler and start the fringe quite far back from your hairline - but be warned, you'll lose length around the sides too!

So what do you think of the Cleopatra fringe?  Do you have one?  Have you had one?  Would you never have one?!

*Not quite, but honestly, it's really long!

I have always been envious of shiny, straight fringes such as these, but alas, I am the owner of curly frizz, and even the best hair straighteners in the world still leave me with a schwipschwapschwing right in the middle of the fringe. The cleopatra fringe is tres sexy and eveyone who can do it should.

This is my go to style. I have one right now. I have been getting one, getting sick of it then getting it cut back in as soon as I have finished growing it out for years lol. I find it frames my eyes beautifully and not hard to get looking good. I find as long as when its wet I comb it every now and again as it dries, it sits really nicely (and straightens, my hair is pretty wavy, curly, cowlicky).

Not for me but it looks awesome on other women :)

Deffo not for me! I had a fringe yeeears ago and it was super hard to maintain and always needed a ton of hairspray to stick in place

Im a big fan of the Cleopatra Fringe! Looks so nice and edgy.

I don't think this style is for everyone but it can look stunning!

I love this look also. I have had it a few times in the last few years, usually a winter thing for me to get the fringe chop, although I've decided I'm going to give it a rest for a bit for now.

I like the straight edge fringe alright, but that far up someones forehead??? I don't understand people with bangs up their forehead like that.

Now, it brings back the memory. I remember I used to have this same hairstyle for most of my childhood. I didn't change until I was 15 (didn't care much about look back then). Until now, I have not yet gone back to this style. I'm not sure if it would look good on me though.

I've always loved this look and have a few friends who pull it off amazingly! I do want to try it but am scared hahaha

I love it and yes there's a bit off up keep but it's so awesome, I've just gone longer and a little layered but yes I'll do it again x

I had one until just very recently when I cut all my hair in to an edgy new cut and because of the heat and headaches. I love the poop out of the Cleopatra fringe its stunning and frames the face beautifully.

I want hair like an Egyptian!!! I tried to have hair like an Egyptian. Alas, I'm not an Egyptian. Sigh. I'm in awe, and just a tad envious, of anyone who has the hair/time/patience to pull this fab look off.

I think it's a really beautiful look, but not sure I have the time (or patience) to maintain something like that.
