Have You Used an Elizabeth Arden Foundation Before?

Applying foundation is a tricky task.  It really is a skill that you learn through trial and error.  Brush, wedge, sponge, your fingers - each tool has it's pros and cons, and each tool works differently depending on the format of foundation.

Today we're looking at a cream foundation, which generally, are great for providing medium to full coverage, being easily buildable.  And this foundation comes complete with its own applicator too!  Oh.  And one of the ingredients......diamonds.  Actual diamonds!

Recently Elizabeth Arden improved their best-selling and beloved Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup. The new formula delivers more of what was great about the orginal foundation:

  • more radiance-boosting benefits
  • improved complexion-perfecting ingredients
  • increased moisturising
  • a natural luminous finish that lasts all day.

Infused with micronized diamond powder, this light-reflecting foundation manipulates and scatters light to diffuse the look of imperfections. Immediately, the look of fine lines, pores, blemishes, scars and dark spots are diminished. Skin appears smoother and more even in tone, as luminosity and radiance are boosted. This moisturising formula offers medium to full coverage that feels comfortable and lasts all day.

And if you think the formula sounds amazing, how about the double-deck compact that's great for travel and on-the-go touchups. Open the top cover to reveal the cream foundation and a mirror, and flip up the bottom level for a contoured application sponge.

So, we think the interest in reviewing this for us is going to be high, so without further ado it's time to put your hand up.

How easy do you find it to apply foundation? If your regular foundation comes with an applicator, do you use it?  Or do you have a favourite foundation tool, independant to the foundation itself?  And what about your experiences with Elizabeth Arden foundations?

At the moment, I apply a liquid foundation just using my fingers. It works ok, but it certainly doesn't provide a flawless finish, nor does it allow me to build the coverage very well. I'd love to try an applicator, as it sounds like it's easier to build coverage and achieve a fuller coverage finish. I've never tried any Elizabeth Arden foundations, but have used plenty of their other products from their range and will never forget the smell of their Red Door perfume as it was my Mum's perfume for a long time when I was growing up. I'm definitely keen to find a new foundation that better suits my skin type and use, so please pick me!!

I used many Elizabeth Arden beauty products years ago but with so much coming on the market now I have strayed away. I would love to try this one as the increased moisturising and anatural luminous finish that lasts all day certainly wasn't in their regime all those years ago, and this of course is very appealing to me. It's a great brand that's been around for a very long time.

I've really only known Elizabeth Arden perfume and certainly have never tried a cream foundation. I've seen my sister use one and it seems a quick result with a medium to heavy coverage. Wow - light diffusing diamonds sounds amazing...especially as my skin ages and the imperfections become greater! I currently use a liquid with a flat sponge so maybe not too far removed in technique. Nice to see the comment below states it won't melt in the coming summer heat.

This foundation has many benefits. It’s easy to apply & with a primer it is like silk on your face. You can choose your level of coverage having a very light natural looking color & can build up if you need more coverage. Great for touch ups. It’s portable won’t leak & isnt susceptibile to heat in your purse. It stays fresh & lasts much longer than some liquids. I am on my 3rd one & am waiting to try the new light deflecting one. Buy it. You WILL love it.

I never tried Elizabeth Arden foundation but I would love to as it looks so luxurious! I usually dab on foundation with my fingers as I don't have an applicator but would be keen to use one! I know it would be more hygienic and I'd love to see if it was easier and spread the foundation evenly.

I always use a flat top kabuki to put foundation on. I have used the cream Foundation from EA before but it was circa 6 years ago and was far to creamy for my younger skin however now with its much older skin it may be more suitable. Im usually okay with sponges if they are cleaned or replaced often :-)

I used to use Eliabeth Ardern years ago pre children but then I couldn't afford it... I'd love to try this now cos the kids are getting a bit older and its time I did something for me! The foundation I have been using doesn't have any sort of applicator so I'd be keen to try this out and see how it goes - who knows my teenage girls would probably try it too!!!! (they always steal my stuff!!)

I used to use Elizabeth Arden in the 1980's and 90's until I could not afford to keep buying it regularly. I loved their products they seemed to work well with my skin, which has always been a bit dry. I changed to less expensive brands and have not to date found another foundation that sits as well with me. I do like the L'Oreal foundation I tested and use that at present but I would love to trial EA, is EA as good as I remembered? With all the latest research how improved is it from back then. I really want to test this product as I can now once again afford to buy it, but only if it tops what I am using now.

I've not tried an EA foundation before but have always been super interested. I'm always on the quest for the perfect foundation and as I get older I'm looking for different things - something illuminating that gives me that glow (that youth used to lol) sounds perfect!

Yes I’ve tried an Elizabeth Arden foundation and it’s a beautiful finish and formula. But this foundation sounds perfect! Who doesn’t want iluminous and radiance from diamonds!

I adore EA foundations. My favourite (when I can afford it) is the Ceramide Lift & Firm in Perfect Beige. The coverage is amazing!!

My favourite and first ever foundation was Shiseido Beauty Cake with sponge... LOVED it! So easy to apply and great coverage. Then unfortunately I started to age and found the foundation would cake into my fine lines around my eyes. I have been searching for a new foundation ever since! Currently using liquid foundation but would love to find another cream foundation! Very excited to give this a go!

I am not confident using foundation, this is because of the finish on my skin and tricky method of application. A sponge would really help with a consistent application. I'd really love to try this one because there are times when I would love a more flawless and finished makeup look. I really enjoyed trying out there mascara and hope this is just as good.

I have aging skin that has age spots etc which I would LOVE to be able to properly cover for a flawless finish!!! I have never tried and Elizabeth Arden foundation before but I'm very keen to try this one. I usually swap between a cream foundation applied with a sponge and BB cream applied with my fingers. Unfortunately neither give me a flawless finish as you can still see my age spots. The only way I can cover them properly is to apply a large amount of foundation but then it sits in my fine lines which looks worse...argh! I would LOVE to try this Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup as it sounds like what my skin is screaming out for!!!

I’m really keen to try this product, I have used a lot of Elizabeth Arden products before but never a foundation. Currently I use my fingers to apply my foundation so it would be great to try a sponge & see if I get a better result. I’m interested in the formula as they say it improves the appearance of dark spots & blemishes. I have a few sun spots so this is definitely something I’m interested in. I also like the idea of the compact that you can carry around with you & use for touch ups through out the day. My current foundation comes in a bottle & can be quite messy, definitely not something you want in your handbag.
