Do you use a barrier cream?

As Nanna Barbara would say; prevention is better than cure.  Now she applied this to all areas of life, from not getting drunk to prevent a hangover, to taking your Vitamin C to prevent a cold.  She also installed the importance of moisturising to prevent nasty cracks and splits.

You've probably noticed your skin is more prone to dryness and flaking in the colder weather.  The colder weather is also probably making any really persistant areas of dryness quite uncomfortable, if not sore.  I know if I don't religiously apply handcream throughout Winter my hands not only become incredibly dry, as the skin seems to harden, it splits.  In between my fingers and around my nails.  And it hurts!  For some people, it's their feet that cause the most discomfort, for others areas like their elbows and knees become prone to dry, scaly and cracked skin.

So let's say you didn't follow Nanna Bab's advice and slather on the moisturiser.  How can you make those sore spots more comfortable and prevent them reoccuring?

Simple - you need a good barrier cream!

We're putting Moanui Skin Repairer to the test.  This emu oil all-purpose hand and skin cream is suitable for anyone with dry, scaly, cracked or damaged skin.  It moisturises and protects the skin, forming a protective barrier to prevent repetitive damage while the reparative properties of the oil assists the healing of minor cuts, scratches and abrasions to help repair.

It has silicon to provide extra protection and can be used on any part of the body that needs an intense moisture and protective cream.  Feedback from satisfied customers has been overwhelming.  It not only acts as a superb hand cream, it actually repairs cracked and bleeding skin on heels and hands.

  • Repair cracked hands and heels
  • Barrier function
  • Moisturise
  • Protect
  • Heal minor cuts

If this sounds like something you'd like to trial, why not tell us why below - we might just send you one!

This sounds really good. My heals are so bad that they catch on my nylons! I've tried so many things, but none of them have been super-successful... maybe I need some emu oil :)

My heels tend to get a lot worse in the winter time. They tend to crack an/or become very dry.

Would love to try this, I do get cracked heels- so should really try a barrier cream.

I myself haven't used a barrier cream before but have seen the results because my husband uses it on his eczema to keep it hydrated. It keeps the itching to a minimum so it must be doing good. I am intrigued though.

Nope do not use a barrier cream however I believe they are really good - having a 2 year old you always need good stuff on hand, nappy rash etc :)

Probably would be fantastic for my feet and hands as they are really dry and I just can't seem to get them back to a good condition

I have heard that emu oil is good for+ dry problem skin. Every winter my heels get very dry, scaly and cracked skin on them. I would love to try this cream.

My hands are already really dry and sensitive from eczema. I'd love to see how this can help and heal the cracks and help the skin recover faster since I can't stop cooking and doing chores.

My feet have always been a problem area with cracked dry skin. Especially when walking barefoot a lot in summer, it starts hurting really bad. Would love to find something that helps.

I would love to try this as not only do I get severe dry cracked hands but my heels also tend to be cracked. I would love to try this on hubby's heels as well and see what difference it would make for him.

Omg this is exactly what I need! I work in fast food and the commercial cleaners mean I constantly have dry flaky disgusting hands! Hand creams don't cut it as they don't have the moisture that my hands need. This sounds amazing, would loooove to trial it :)

Surprisingly my feet don't dry out much. I moisturise them daily. My elbows however need some care. Sounds like an awesome product.

Yes please, my feet are so neglected. My hands are fine but my feet are so bad. Spending all day on them means i'm too exhausted to thank them when i come home.

I gasped when I saw this, keen to try on my heels, I use a scholl pedi (which is great), heel cream, usual cream, glad wrap wrapped heels with cream, you name it and its just not quite enough. My heels are screaming out for a deep moisterise & a repair. And of course I love hand cream :-)
