The Ultimate Beauty Multi-tasker You Probably Already Own!

Article by BR Kellie

Who doesn’t love a multitasking product? Like a balm that can moisturise cuticles while holding down fluffy hair. A lip stain that serves as a blush. Conditioner that can double as shaving cream. Multitasking beauty products are wonderful things, and we’ve found the ultimate product that can take care of seven other beauty jobs outside of the job it was created for.

So what is this product we’re so enamoured with? It is none other than the nude eyeshadow palette, and it can be used to do everything from contouring your face to creating a sophisticated nail colour. How? Read on!

Eyeliner. Want to emphasise your eyes? Simply grab an eyeliner brush, dampen it, sweep it along your chosen shadow shade, and then apply to your lash line. Want a softer looking liner? Leave the brush dry, add product, then apply. This is also a really great way to create a show-stopping smoky eye.

Eyebrow Filler. Eyebrows looking sparse? Enhance them by taking your brow brush and using an eyeshadow a couple of shades lighter than your brow colour (you can even mix shadows to create your desired colour), then fill.

Cheek highlighter. You know the lovely shimmery shades of white, cream and champagne that you use in the corner of your eyes to brighten them? They can also be used on the tops of your cheeks, your cupids bow and down the bridge of your nose as a highlighter. Genius!

Cheek contour. Considering getting into contouring, but don’t want to splash out on product? Trying to downsize your makeup bag but can’t be without your contouring kit? Reach for the matte brown shades of your eyeshadow palette and apply them to the hollows of your check before blending them out. This can also work for super fair skin tones which can’t find a contour colour that suits their skin, just use a light brown matte shadow (check out this video which shows how to contour very pale skin using eyeshadow.)

Nail colour. Create a sophisticated tinted polish by mixing a clear polish with a scraping of eyeshadow. Mix it well so there are no lumps and bumps, then apply.

Lip colour. Love the nude look? Grab your favourite nude eyeshadow and mix the powder in with some balm then pat it on for beautiful kissable lips.

Finally, if your nude palette contains shades that have a pink or coral hue you can also use them as a blush.

So there you have it – the seven extra ways to utilize a nude eyeshadow palette. So will you be making one part of your makeup bag? Will it replace and lighten the load of your existing one? Do you have any other tips or tricks? Chat away!

I haven't tried multi tasking my make up with a nude palette before, but I do see some great ideas to try out here.

Wow that's pretty clever! I like Thin Lizzy because it is also pretty versatile.

I actually don't currently have a palette in my collection although I do have mainly nude shades in my makeup. I have always been one to use shadows etc for other things eg. lippy, cheek colour (that's probably the scrooge in me hehe).

I definitely need to get another palette though :)

Never knew it could have so many uses, awesome.

Im addicted to nude pallettes! I have 6 of them :-/

I love nude palettes - I have two naked palettes, a Laura Mercier palette and I have a LoracPro palette as well, plus my own made up MAC palette is almost completely neutral as well. They're AWESOME for travelling. My Naked 1 has a much loved colour that I use in my brows when travelling and I have used some shades as a highlight as well. Wouldn't be without my neutral/nude palettes for love nor money! They also represent value for money for the number of shades you get for the amount of product you get too.

I'd love to get all these pallettes. Im slowly trying to build up a colour collection.

No I don't own one of those (yet hehe) but there are some great ideas there. I like the nail varnish and contouring ideas best. Now to find an organic brand that sells a nude kit and I'll be away. I might make that the next purchase actually :)

I love this! I've used my eyeshadows for my brows quite a few times when I've stayed away from home and forgotten my brow products. I love the idea of using it for custom nail polish! Such a great idea!!

I really need to get one of these in my life!

To me a nude palette is one of the most versatile products out there. It suits everyone. I just ordered the naked 2 palette and cant wait to get this must-have make up staple!

Yaasss! This is so me atm. I recently acquired the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye palette and I use it every day for multiple uses. It's awesome because there are 3 huuuuuge shades amongst the 12 shades, and they're the ones I use most for multi-tasking.

One is a fab cool-toned contour shade for pale skin, another is a really pale yellow undertoned shadow that I've been using as an under eye setting powder, as yellow powders are normally waaaay too yellow on me, and the third is a peachy toned powder that I've been layering under blushes.

I really need to remember the brow thing and see what happens if I layer a shadow over my normal brow products, as my brows always need more fake volume and there's definitely enough shades in there to choose from to match my brows :)
