Maybelline Color Show in Marinho Review

I love this colour! it takes 2-3 coats to get a good cover though, and while the first two coats dry quickly enough, the third can take a bit longer. I allow at least 5 minutes after the third coat, then apply a top clear coat - then I use "instant dry drops" or the like - still not instantly dry, but with another 5-10mins, they are touch to go and I can get on with my day. The finish with this polish and a clear top, gives a gel look finish.

Lasting power - this polish wears off my nails rather than peels or chips & this doesn't normally happen for 2-3 days, which is about normal for a nail polish.

I applied the polish about a week ago and it's still going strong, no cracks so far. It dries quickly but I wouldn't say it dried in 60 secs as was advertised.

The colour reminds me of sapphires and I think it would compliment a sapphire ring very well so if you have a sapphire ring this colour is totally for you!

It doesn't look very good with only two coats but a third coat really helps so don't give up too quickly.

I also own Maybelline Color Show in a nude colour and if I was to review that colour it would almost be a duplicate of this one, so I assume my review would extend to most other colours in the line.

I snapped this up for 99c on clearance but even at it's full retail price it's a great deal. Definitely recommend.

I got this in the last BR vault and was super excited to try a Maybelline polish in this variety for the first time! I don't have any other blue polishes in my ever growing collection, so this was a perfect addition to the babies.

The bottle is actually smaller than I thought it was. It looked much bigger in this photo but nonetheless I was excited to try. It's a cylindrical shape with quite a big lid to hold. The brush itself is very stumpy and short. The brush is quite thin and takes a lot of effort to cover the entire nail completely. It requires more than three swipes! That to me is ridiculous!

The coverage is less than inadequate it's laughable. It looks as though it's had a thinner added to the bottle after production. I held on to what was left of my hope and went on to do a second coat. Upon doing the second coat it became apparent that it was just the initial coat that was streaky. As I rounded it up with a third coat it looked far more lovable. It is a deep blue that had my eyes in the shape of hearts. That is about where the good feelings stop though unfortunately.

Three days later I had more scratches and chips than a derby car on its debut night. I was highly disappointed to say the very least. I knew it wouldn't last forever, but come on three days? Pitiful really. As a result of this, I only use this polish as an accent to nail art (not that I am good at it, learner alert). It is a gorgeous colour and is very affordable for a nail polish but I would rather spend a few more dollars and get a better brand.

I received this nail color in the ‘We love nails’ BBBE.

This color has two tones to it, depending on the light. Under natural light it’s a very slightly shimmery, deep violet. Under artificial light it appears deep navy blue. So it’s a cool and interesting color in that aspect.

The small 7ml bottles of this nail polish range, I really like. It makes them more affordable than the larger, generally standard 13- 15ml sizes, and there’s a better chance that you’ll get to use most of the product up before it goes tacky.

The consistency of these polishes is a little on the thinner side, so it dries quite quickly between coats, and you need 2-3 coats for an opaque coverage.

The brush wand is short and stubby, and a brush itself is a little on the smaller side, I find that 4 brush strokes are needed to coat the entire nail. The first coat tends to apply a bit patchily, but once you get a second coat on, the color and coating is solid.

Wear-wise, I find that this darker color seems to be a bit better than some of the lighter colors from this nail polish range. I can get 3 days out of this one before the chipping begins to get obvious.

I’ve tried and own about five colors from the Maybelline Color Show nail polish range. I quite like them for the reasons mentioned above, and while not perfect, I’d purchase again.

This came in the 'we love nails' BBBE. I've had maybelline nail polishes before and quite liked them so I was excited to try this one, the colour is simply stunning it's almost a navy blue with a deep purple hint. I love it, I don't have anything in my collection that is even remotely like this colour.

The small nail polish bottles are great, short and round. Nothing complicated or fancy pants. The bush is short because of the size of the smaller bottles but that's alright I don't seem to make a mess applying it.

After applying 1 coat the nail polish looks sheer so I add a second coat and then a different brands top coat. After two coats the nail polish is dark and looks like what it does in the bottle. I get a great even, streak free finish, i also noticed both costs dried incredibly quickly which is also a big plus for me as I hate waiting for nail polish to dry. I hate feeling defenceless!

I can easily get 4/5 days out of this nail polish by then I'm usually sick of it and change colour. I did do the fish tail braid and used this polish and with all 3 colours I got a week before I noticed any chipping which I thought was pretty awesome.

These are great nail polishes that are easily available and so affordable will be adding more to the collection.

This nail polish seems to work well on my nails, its hard wearing and lasts along with quick drying. They last a lot longer then some of the nail polishes I have tried , with just some minor wear and chipping along the very tips of my nails after a few days. I love the dark tone, not black but not wishy washy. Nice n deep. I would definatly keep using this one.

I have not tried a lot of Maybelline nail products and when I saw this in the vault I thought this is a must have for me. Luckily I managed to secure one for myself.

I was happy to see the bottle is a 7ml size. I now prefer to purchase smaller bottles now as I have come to realise that in all my years of painting my nails, I have never used a whole bottle of nail polish up!

I loved the look of the colour in the bottle, it had me excited to try. I cleaned my nails and set to.

The brush is a bit shorter than I am used to but that is because the bottle is smaller. The brush was really no better or worse than I have used in the past.

The formula goes on quite well, I did make it a reasonably thick coat and I found the coverage pretty good. I let the first coat dry and applied a second coat. I must say the colour is truely stunning! I finished off with a gel top coat ( from another brand) and it was a beautiful shiny finish.

I dont expect a great wear from my nail polish ever, I am wrapped if I get week withiut too many chips. So I was happy with the wear I got out of this, I topped up the top coat 3 days after the initial application and I got another few days of decent coverage.

Overall I am happy with this polish and this size is an absolute winner for me.

I recieved this in my I love Nails box. Maybelline is one of those brands that can you can easily pick up from any stores. I like that this nail box contained items that I can easily repurchase if I want to. I've been wanting to try Colour Show for some time now and this was a great opportunity to do so.

This bottle is quite small in size and is called Marinho. Never heard of a nail polish like this before. My colour was part of the Bolds Nail box. Its a very deep dark blue. I think it's a great colour for winter. The consistency of this polish was quite thin. Has your normal chemical scent to it.

With application I tried two coats and it was streaky. Then I tried three coats and this colour looks smooth and bold. I did a top coat and fast dry drops to help make my nails last. Unfortunately it didn't last me past a day and it started to chip. I tried this on two seperate occassions and had the same result.

After trying this nail colour I most likely wouldn't repurchase it because I like my nail colour to last me between three to five days. I think its priced a bit high. Could be five dollars. I did however enjoy giving this try.

I like how sleek the packaging is, when painting nails you need to do quiet a few coats as it comes out a bit patchy but I don't mind that because it's still a lot better then some nail polish formulas. Loved getting this from the vault as I don't tend to buy myself nail polish

I bought this nail polish in the Beauty Vault. The Marinho shade is a gorgeous navy blue colour, though in some lights it looks dark purple or black. It has a shiny, gel-like finish.

The polish is quite thick but still requires two coats to get a good coverage and colour. The chip-free claim has proven to be true as it has lasted for a whole week with minimal chipping. I really like the short brush as it gives more control making application easier and the polish dries quickly.

I am very keen to try this in other shades, which are a bargain at $8.49 each.
