It's Time To Tidy Up!

What does your makeup space look like? Is it well ordered and everything has its place? Or is it a bit of a hot mess with stuff randomly slung about and cotton balls dotted all over the show? If you're more of the latter than the former, then it's time to tidy up - not only does it make getting ready more efficient and less stressful (seriously, I've been in that place where I can't find my one and only mascara and was running late, and it's not pretty), but there's also something soothing about having everything in its proper place - and to make that happen you need storage. Yes, you could spend a fortune on buying said storage, or you could DIY or repurpose it. Check out these inspirational ideas!

curlsandlashes

My heart may well have skipped a beat when I saw this set up from Instagrammer curlsandlashes. What an amazing idea to take the Disney princess Vogue covers (created by fashion illustator and designer Hayden Williams) and turn them into cosmetic and brush holders, complete with matching coloured tops. What I especially enjoy about this is that it can be tailored to your own passions. (Can you imagine how gorgeous vintage sewing pattern designs would look done in this style?)

Take a candlestick, attach a stylish looking jar to it and you've got yourself uber-glamorous containers to hold your cotton buds, balls and wipes. Sublime!

We love this repurposing of a file rack from Instagrammer abovediamondsandbeauties. What an gorgeous wya to keep your palettes in place!

Tired of not being able to see the woods for the trees... in a beauty sense? Scour a second hand shop for a vintage cake tray, pop it on your vanity, place your products on it, then step back and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

locketpeddler

If space is at a premium then this could be the ultimate solution fo storing your makeup while still being able to easily see your collection. An old tool chest transformed into a thing of beauty! So impressed. Big claps to you for taking something meh and making it magical, locketpeddler!

Another idea is to turn your collection into a work of art. Take one magnetic board. Make it your own by painting and decorating it. Hang it up. Attach magnets to your makeup. Arrange on board. Boom. Storage solution sorted.

There you have it, some fabulous ideas to inspire you to make your getting ready area a thing of beauty! Do any of the ideas inspire you? Have you DIYed or repurposed things for your beauty space already? Be sure to pop a pic up on the Photowall - we'd love to see what magic you've worked!

Love the file rack idea! I'm actually going to try that - my hubby hates me putting anything on the vanity though so I have to either keep it in a drawer or the cupboard.

Ohh I love the candle stick idea, that looks so gorgeous!

These ideas are really cool. I use letter holders for storing my palettes, and a three-tiered cake tray for my jewellery.

Very nice storage ideas. I actually haven't tried any these because I wash and put my brushes away in the drawer when they are dry.

These are so cute! I wish I had enough space to create cute storage spaces for all my makeup

I bought a wire tray from The Warehouse and put all my palettes in (they reposted my photo of it on their Instagram page if you want to see the photo!!)

People never cease to amaze me, so talented and skillful. I have just used a scented candle glass jar for my hair ties and clips.

The candlestick jars are beautiful!

I have recently had a massive clean out of unloved products and gave them away. Now I have a tidy small area of only products I use. I have acrylic storage which I've brought from Kmart, Bed Bath & Beyond & TM.

The magnetic board is fantastic! I went on an organizing rampage with my makeup a few months ago and since have it all in my bedroom (moved out of bathroom due to a past article talking about that no-no!). I have a display with all my really well used products in it, and a box with dividers for the rest.

The candle stick idea looks awesome and the cake plate.

Wow i love these ideas! I've turned my old rotating spice rack into a makeup storage for my foundations, primers etc. Some of my other makeup is in some little drawers I got from kmart. I love organising my stuff!
