I have trialed the 'Very Gentle Restoring Oil' over the past three weeks. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin with a small amount of redness on my cheeks and nose. The packaging of this product is in a white cardboard box which is recyclable, with a light apricot/pink colour on the top of the box. It states on the box 'Sensitive' and lists the active ingredients 'maqui berry, apricot and sea buckthorn.' I really like how on the box it shows that the product is certified by BioGro as an organic cosmetic, that is really important to backup that big statement.
The product comes in a 30ml amber glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the oil from. The oil is thin and slippery it has no fragrance to it which I find unpleasant from other facial oils. I like the use of the dropper for the oil as it means you can control how much oil you need. I use 3-4 drops (a little bit goes a long way with oils) each night on my face, neck and decolletage. I find I have to gently massage it into my skin and it absorbs within 10 or so minutes, because I have dehydrated dry skin, this works very well for me and I like the feeling I am left with soft and feeling moisturised. It soothes and hydrates all my dry patches of skin leaving it feeling soft.
I liked to use this after I had cleansed my skin and after I had applied the 'Very Gentle Calming Serum' I think this works well in the evening for my skin personally as it keeps it hydrated all night long, so I wake up with supple and soft skin.
The price point, $43.99 for 30ml, for a standard bottle of rosehip oil it is around the $26-35 mark, so it is definitely a bit more expensive if you compare it with that. Although I do feel this oil suits my skin better, as it is more thin and not so greasy and heavy like some other oils can be on my skin, which make my skin more prone to acne break outs. So I would purchase again but would wait until it was on special at a Farmers store or Trilogy's online website.
I would suggest this to anyone who feels other rosehip blended oils are too heavy for their skin, girls with sensitive and/or acne prone skin as the ingredients are specially tailored or as an evening nourishing face oil for those drier skinned people.
Like the whole range the pink and white and brown glass packaging is gorgeous and classy. The oil comes in a small bottle with a little dropper for ease of application.
I always thought a oil would make my skin extra oily. However I was pleasantly surprised. I used this oil after cleansing my skin at night prior to using the moisturiser. It absorbed quickly and did not leave my feeling greasy at all. It has a mild yet insignificant fragrance. My skin has become very sensitive since being pregnant however I had no adverse effects from using this oil.
Tips: Apply 2-3 drops of the oil in to your hand and massage in to face avoiding the eye area. Apply after cleansing prior to using moisturiser.
