Quality product

I like the natural scent of the Evolu products- it's a light fresh scent. The cream easily squeezes out from the tube and is nice and hydrating. It's hydrating yet doesn't feel thick and absorbs easily. I think I prefer tubes to pots as they are more hygienic. Overall a decent product.

Just Average

Got this last year in the BBBE Christmas Bundle. I have used a couple of Evolu products in the past so was looking forward to seeing whether this item would be standout.

Packaging has the classic colour of pale light green which is usual for the brand. The screw top tube is my favourite kind of packaging for ease of use and being able to get the last of the product out near the end of use. 75ml bottle. It has a suttle scent, I can smell the sweet orange it's quite pleasant. Lightweight cream consistency.

I have used this for the last 4 weeks and throughout that time I was hoping that first impression would change, albeit it hasn't. It is light, disperses easily and absorbed quickly. I think it's a great option for warmer months use as it is not heavy. Other than that it doesn't stand out for me.

This is only the second night cream I have ever used but I still prefer the Trilogy Age Proof Over Night Mask over this. For the price point and minimum results I won't be repurchasing this when it's finished.

Not for oily skin

A 10ml sample of this Balancing Overnight Cream was included in the Evolu Travel Tower that came in "The Complete Natural Skin Care" box from The Best Beauty Box Ever.

This overnight cream helps to regulate, condition and replenish skin by intensively moisturizing to help maintain elasticity and skin radiance. It contains Borage, Irish Moss and Spirulina extracts to help regulate skin tone and promote a healthy, even complexion, as well as lavender, mandarin oil and shea butter.

It is lightweight and non-greasy when applied, although I did find this night cream to be far too rich for my oily skin type, probably because of the addition of shea butter, and it makes me perspire around my nose and chin for a good half hour after application, even in cool weather, which I know is a definite sign that this moisturiser isn't right for my skin type.

Tips: Use sparingly and add more as needed.

Quite Nice

I've been trying this overnight cream alongside the set from the Evolu tower.

I'm a night cream junkie so I'm all over any new night cream I can find. This is a white cream, or actually more in the nature of a thick lotion, very similar to the day cream. It has the same odd smell. The first couple of times I used it I really didn't like it. Then I used it on warm skin immediately after washing my face and it worked better and felt nicer. I have a tendency to slap on a healthy dollop of night cream usually but that doesn't work well with this one. A thin layer left to absorb is more successful - any more product and it leaves a bit of a tacky, sticky, feel, which I don't like. After a while of the product absorbing my skin starts to feel nice. Very odd, but it gets better over 5 - 10 minutes. And it's very nice as a hand cream, as I've discovered from rubbing the excess into my palms. It certainly has some lovely ingredients. I only have these small pots to try so I can't speak for how this would perform over a month or so, but then oils and antioxidants it contains would likely help improve skin long term.

It isn't my favourite night cream so I wouldn't repurchase, but it is quite nice and worth a try, possibly better for people with less mature skin than mine though.

Silks and Satins

I would not normally spend so much on any skin care but seeing as this baby was part of the beauty box I bought I had to give it a go. In a way I was hoping it would fail me so I didn't have to justify the $55 price tag that went with it. Oh how it proved me wrong.

I love first of all how it is a NZ brand, TICK and best of all is cruelty free massive TICK! The packaging definitely gives off a clean, green image and is pleasing to the eye. It's simple but definitely achieves what it sets out to do by first glimpse.

The cream itself is creamy and thick without looking like it would leave a greasy film after application. It has a pleasant fragrance without being over powering. You can definitely get a hint of lavender in there above anything else. Usually lavender for me is a dislike, but it's so light it's nice which is awesome.

I use the cream cleanser and toner in the same Evolu skincare range which I think gives it the best chance to get the best results. After using the first two in the regime I smooth this on using upward motions just like mama taught me. Gotta keep those wrinkles off the neck for as long as possible hehe.

The cream, although thick is definitely not greasy so my skin drinks it in gratefully without any issue. Even after the first use I found my skin felt alot more hydrated but only time would tell if it would stay this way. We are now three months in and my skin is now a plump, hydrated canvas. It has loved it so much that I don't wear foundation anymore and my skin loves it. It can now breathe and look good in its own naked glory. I gave it the heading 'Silks and Satins' because that is now what my skin feels like. With being pregnant now and having unpredictable skin it has reigned in those blemishes and uneven dullness and given it a whole new lease of life. Money Schmoney I say!

Tips: Use the Evolu cream cleanser and toner for best results.
