Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution Review

The Keihl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution contains Activated vitamin C, White Birch Extract and Peony Extract, all of which work together to correct dark spots and even skin tone. The product comes in the usual white Kiehl’s packaging with ingredient details and usage directions written clearly on the box. The solution itself comes in a transparent glass bottle which is surprising as vitamin C is susceptible to light. Full marks though for having a dropper thus making the procedure more hygienic and practical. The lotion is very lightweight, silky in texture and has a very subtle scent which doesn’t linger past initial application. It is easy to apply and absorbs quickly. I really like that it doesn’t leave residual effects on my skin after application but dries quickly and cleanly. It didn’t cause any adverse reactions possibly because its fragrance, silicon and paraben free. I use 2 - 3 drops in the morning and night all over my face before applying serum and moisturiser. A little goes a long way. It is easy to apply and feels quite refreshing on my face. My complexion is brighter with a significant improvement in radiance. Overall it looks healthier and far less sallow and tired. My winter dry skin patches have become more hydrated. The product details advise that it takes about 28 days of continuous use before the ingredients are able to break down the melanin deposits in pigmentation and to lighten the dark spots. I have been using this now for 20 days. I feel my skin is starting to show improvement in skin tone but my dark spots which are quite dark, are still there though fractionally lighter. To be fair there hasn’t been enough time to produce those types of results. I am really pleased I trialled this and will continue to purchase.

I have been using this for 3 weeks along with 2 other products from Kiehl's, morning and night and have noticed my skin looks more healthy and glowing! To be fair I want to give this more time to see full benefits because I have only used less then a quarter of the bottle and that's twice a day for 3 weeks. So this will last 6 months at least. It has a oil consistency but doesn't feel heavy and has not broken me out! It comes in a glass bottle with one of those applicators where you have to squeeze the top and it drips out. Very happy, I have never tried this brand and now it is one of my favs. Thanks BR

This is an ok product; it comes in a 30ml clear dropper pipette style bottle. The solution is a clear liquid, quite runny. It has a very soft but sharp scent to it (but is listed as fragrance free) Things to note – it is oil free, sulphate free, paraben free. You don’t need to apply much as the serum spreads easily and is not sticky, you could always use this on your neck/hands/arms. I have olive skin and no freckles and have been using on my face as I have a dark sunspot and it has reduced ever so slightly, so hopefully with continued use it starts to fade over time, but if you want instant results then I'd suggest something else.

I'm struggling to fairly review the Kiehls Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution as I feel this is a product that needs a good amount of time to form an overall opinion about its effectiveness as a dark spot corrector. However, there is still much to love. I love the clear glass bottle with glass dropper. I love the freshness of the fragrance. I love the silky texture of the solution. The Kiehls Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution states that it will help visibly brighten skin and diminish the number and intensity of dark spots and skin discolourations over time. Does it do this? Yes and currently no! My skin is visibly brighter, but this could also be attributed to the other Kiehls products in this trial. I have dark spots from sun damage and they have not changed since starting the trial, but I've only been using the product for two weeks so I would like to reserve judgment on the dark spot corrective aspect of this product. I'll continue using the product until finished and do a further review on my dark spot situation.

I have been using this treatment twice a day once I have applied my Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate. I definitley feel the "zing" after application. It feels great and goes on like a dream...so easy to apply with the dropper. I think my skin does look brighter but its too early to tell whether my dark spots have improved or not. I've been using it on my decolettage and also the back of my hands. I look forward to seeing results after a few more weeks of use.

I was excited to try Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution by Kiehl's because I am a skincare Vitamin C junkie and this is one of the key ingredients. Brightening is very important to me as my skin likes to throw pigment and I have only been able to manage this with laser treatments and by using products with active ingredients such as Vitamin C. I believe prevention is key and maintenance by using products high in Vitamin C will prevent further hyperpigmentation. According to the Kiehl's website, this product contains Activated C - this is a 'specialized derivative of Vitamin C that helps reduce the look of dark spots and hyperpigmentation'. Especially during summertime our skins need extra Vitamin C for brightening and also because it acts as an antioxidant. So how did this product perform? I like the look, feel and smell of it. The clear fluid has just the right amount of viscosity - it is a liquid, but thick enough that it sits nicely on the skin - it is not watery at all. It doesn't smell like much - which is a good thing in my book since I am not a fan of heavily scented skincare products. I used it after cleansing and before applying moisturizer and used it mainly at night. It felt hydrating and absorbed instantly. Did it make much of a difference? It hydrated my skin, so full marks for that. It didn't cause any irritation or adverse reaction. I have not noticed a huge difference as far as brightening is concerned, but then again, I have been using high end products aimed at brightening for quite some time and my pigmentation was under control before I started using this. Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution by Kiehl's comes in a see-through glass bottle with a dropper. I was surprised to notice this because most of the Vitamin C products I have used over the years are in dark glass because the products can be light sensitive. I would therefore keep this in a dark cupboard, just to be on the safe side. It is definitely on the pricey side but I believe it is a case of you get what you pay for. I will repurchase this and I would be happy to recommend this to my friends and family.

This solution is a light, slightly thicker and water and clear. Its smooth and the applicator is a dropper so easy to use the right amount, no wastage. It has a light citrus scent, that disappears straight after application. I used this all over my face in the morning and then just spot treated at night, in the mornings i would use half the dropper full and to spot treat quarter. It soaks into the skin very quickly so doesn't add to much time to the morning and evening routines. I've been using this for just under a month and have been consistently using this twice a day and have used about a 1 cm at the top of a 30ml bottle so for me this will last quite some time, which is great as this does have a higher price point. At about $100 for 30ml is a lot of money, but also not to bad when you consider other brands that do the same type of products its much the same. i really think its worth the money! There isn't anything special about the packing its a clear bottle with a white dropper and silver rim simple and all that's needed, it comes in a small box with all the ingredients and how to use listed. After using this i would say its started to do what it says it does. I have seen some definite fading and shrinking in my dark patches on my forehead, and i do think with continued used the other patches and sun spots will start and continue to fade too. My skin is more even now than its been in years! I would recommend this to anyone who has dark spots or uneven skin tone, i love the results I've seen and cant wait to continue! its worth every cent!
