I was very lucky to receive this L’Oreal product as part of a trial team, and it is probably the product that I have been most excited to try so far. I am on the search for an effective anti-ageing face cream, and this night cream contains two very powerful anti-ageing ingredients: Retinol and Niacinamide. The packaging the cream comes in certainly makes it look like a high quality product, and I really like that there are detailed instructions for first time Retinol users on the box. I have recently had some not so good experiences with poor instructions (see my Olay Regenerist Whip review), and it was really great to find that the Revitalift Laser cream comes with excellent instructions. The jar that the cream comes in is also very high quality looking, however, it is not recyclable which is a real shame. The way the jar is designed means that it acts as a pump, dispensing a single dose of cream with every pump. While this is very hygienic, I much prefer being able to choose the amount of cream I want to use. I have been using this cream for about two weeks now, and as per the instructions I have been using it both on my face as well as on my neck and decolletage. The cream has a really nice consistency, not sticky or greasy, but also not too thin, and it quickly absorbs into the skin. I am not a big fan of the smell of the cream, which I find a bit “chemical”, but this may be due to the active ingredients. As per the instructions, I have been wearing SPF during the day, every day. Due to the short trial time before this review was due, and due to the recommendations on the box to only use this cream very sparingly in the first two weeks of use, I have not been able to see any improvements in skin tone or reduction of wrinkles. However, the cream is definitely a very effective moisturiser, and the box says that the efficacy has been proven in studies conducted by independent institutes. I really like that L’Oreal do not do any animal testing, and in fact have not done so for the last 30 years. I will keep using this cream, and will aim to update this review when I have finished the jar and it comes time to decide if I would buy another one.

Reviews
I have used retinol creams in the past, and not had any issues with them. Unfortunately for me and my skin this one was way too strong. I started by using it every other day, but by the third use my skin was very dry, and when I used my usual mist toner my skin went extremely red and took hours to calm down. I stopped using the retinal cream at that point, and unfortunately the only product I could put on my face was paw paw ointment and rosehip oil. It was over a week before the dryness dissipated and I was able to return to my normal routines. I will try again, but maybe just once a week until my skin has gotten used to it. I have never had this issue with retinal creams previously so it took me by surprise. The cream is highly perfumed, but quite light, I found it absorbed well. The container it comes in is fantastic, no dirty fingers, or having to find a spatula for this one. 'd love all my creams to come in a container like this!
Tips: take it easy - don't use it every day (or even every second day) to begin with even if you have used retinol products previously.
Thanks beauty review I’ve quite liked this trial and I’m pretty sure it’s a re purchase for me. I love the packaging it has a nice strong plastic container that your press down and it releases the cream you don’t need a huge amount so I find it’s just the right amount. I have used it every night since I recieved it even thou the instructions on the box suggest to use it gradually. I’ve found it really good for my uneven skin tone but I feel like more use will help. It’s a great consistency and feels really nice and hydrating on my face. I’m hoping for a firmer neck and repairing a little of the sun damage. My only thing I don’t like it’s the scent it’s quite strong and almost masculine but once I’m asleep I don’t notice lol.
There are warnings about using this cream on sensitive skin. The instructions require you to build up usage slowly to allow skin to get used to it. The first day that I used this product my skin was very red and sore as my husband had just had a massive heart attack and I had been doing a lot of crying and I have sensitive skin. I was worried I would have a reaction with all that irritation along with my sensitivity but it did not sting or hurt. Once I started using it on a daily basis I had a couple of days with mild redness and a slight sting but it went away quickly. So far the product has made my skin feel very soft, plumper and firmer. I believe there may have been very slight reduction in wrinkles but at this stage I’m not willing to say that it does improve wrinkles. My neck feels smooth and glorious. It’s a lovely rich and luxurious cream that is absorbed easily and leaves my skin feeling nicely moisturised. I love the packaging of this product. The bottle dispenser is awesome! You only need a small amount and it glides on easily and has excellent coverage. It will be interesting to see how well it dispenses when it is near the end of the bottle and how much is left in the bottom.
Tips: Make sure you follow instructions and don’t use it everyday to start off with.
I really liked the one press delivery of this cream , its much more hygenic than dipping your fingers in a pot and it delivers exactly the right amount too. The cream smelt pleasant and wasn't overwhelming in fragrance. It made my skin feel lovely and soft after just two weeks, i didnt notice any wrinkle reduction as yet , but i have only been using it two weeks, i did notice it was very moisturising and my skin does look quite clear. I have used retinol products before so i thought i would be ok to use it almost daily immediately instead of working up to it over a few weeks, however my skin did start to peel a bit, so i have gone back to working up to using it a couple of times a week. I do like it and will continue to use it and see how much my skin improves.
Tips: Work up to using it nightly or it may be a bit strong for your skin at first and you might get a bit of peeling like i did!
L'oreal is a favourite brand, I was lucky enough to receive this from the vault. This night cream comes in a generous 50ml plastic jar with a clear plastic lid and a push down dispenser. The consistency is creamy and easy to apply. I have been applying just a small amount to face and neck sparingly because my skin can be sensitive at times. A bit tingley at first, but settled down after the first week. The scent is nice and not too overpowering. My skin feels hydrated and refreshed, will keep using three times a week, have noticed a slight improvement in skin tone. Haven't noticed a big difference to lines and wrinkles but over time might improve.
WOW! There that's my review. One word. It tells you everything you need to know.
Ok, I better behave and write more!
The packaging is insanely cool - you push the top down and it gently dispenses the right amount of product. No more fingers in the pottle. Honestly I love this feature.
The cream is light and really easily absorbed. It seems to go a long way too.
I'm an experienced Retinol user so I built up a tolerance faster than the recommended usage instructions.
The night cream feels smooth and soft on the skin and the next day my skin is just baby smooth. Over the course of the last few weeks my skin is even in texture, soft, supple and just looks so good.
I will not be without this from now on.
I have never used products with retinol in it, so I was excited to try this product. I followed the suggestion on the box to gradually introduce it, and luckily I did not have any reactions or redness.
I did love the pressed-jar applicator - gives the perfect dosage, is mess-free, and it is nice and hygienic as you avoid dipping your fingers in. I will be interested to see how it works when it starts to get low in product though. It was easy to apply and a small pea sized amount goes a long way. It is quite a thin consistency compared to other night creams, has a low fragrance, and is a surprising pale yellow colour.
My skin feels hydrated and smooth after using it for a couple of weeks. The box promises in 14 nights that wrinkles will be visibly reduced and skin tone more even. I haven't seen that yet - but I wonder if it because I haven't actually applied it for 14 nights as such yet as I am following the directions to introduce it gradually. I look forward to hopefully seeing results from this product with continued use.
Tips: Follow the directions when first using it - e.g. week 1: two times a week, week 2: every other night, week 3: apply nightly.
This a tricky product to review over a short time as you gradually use product. I am currently using every other night. I found the product quite stingy which lasted a few seconds and made my skin quite red for a few minutes after application. My skin felt very smooth and soft and alot firmer and some of the fine lines are less visible not much change to the few deeper wrinkles i have yet and skin tone is becoming more even alot less harsh looking its more youthful. My skin in my around the chin and cheeks has become very dry after cleaning my face in the morning so have had to use a day time moisturizer with spf... I am going to continue with the trial as I do like the way my skin is starting to look. The press to release container is perfect for ensuring you get the right amount of product. The packaging has all you need to know printed on the side of the box.
Tips: Follow the instructions on the box I wouldn't use this if you have very sensitive skin. Use an spf moisturizer during the day to protect you skin.
I really did love this night cream!
I particularly like the push down piece which delivered just the right amount of moisturiser each time, it's so clever and so such a simple idea, that solves several pottle-hates of mine!
The cream contains retinol, something I haven't used in a while. I followed the instructions and took it slow - surprising myself with the strength of the retinol in this. I felt the tingle for a few days after the first use and again after the second. I now use this every two days with no discomfort or signs of dryness.
It is helping resurface my skin, it feels incredibly soft to touch and very smooth and even.
