Works very well

This is our go-to sunscreen when we're heading to the beach. Glides on & absorbs nicely-doesn't just it on top of your skin & doesn't feel greasy. One day I decided to really test it & applied it everywhere but 2 spots on my body and used another one on my husband doing the same thing. This one did far better than the one I put on my husband & really stopped sunburn all over (except those couple of spots) even after sweating a lot in the sun & stuff. The only downside is that it is quite expensive for the amount you get & we would easily use a tube per trip to the beach. Great stuff overall

Staple item

This is a favourite in our household and is a must have item in summer, especially when most of summer is spent in and around the swimming pool.

I have been getting a few sun spots on my shoulders and arms in recent years and I need to be more sun smart so always look for something with good sun protection.

This comes in a blue metallic squeeze tube and sits on the lid, I like how it's easy to grab and squeeze the sunscreen out especially when everyone is in a hurry to get outside or get into the pool. You only need a small amount and it rubs in easily It leaves a slightly oily and greasy residue for an hour afterwards but it is effective, I only use this on my body and use a lighter formula for my face. It has a pleasant fresh scent that smells like a lot of other Nivea products.

I have never looked like a Beetroot after wearing this sunscreen, I put it on before heading out in the morning and then again around midday before reapplying. I wish this would come in a bigger size 150ml doesn't last long in our house at all.

Nivea Ultrabeach Suncream

Pros: - Nice size to throw into purse - Liked it best for legs, arms, torso - Doesn't sting eyes - No overpowering smell - Kept my redhead skin sunburn-free for at least 3-4 hours (no swimming involved)

Cons: - Definitely doesn't stay on for 4 hrs if you're swimming (my sunburnt kids can attest to that!) - Bit too thick & sticky for my face

Sun safe

I'm a sun-baby but this year I've noticed more freckling and sun damage showing on my skin so decided to step up my sun protection factor. Nivea Ultrabeach sounded like it would provided good protection against those powerful rays so I gave it a go.

I have one with spray bottle packaging which I really like, I find it's easier to use when on the beach since you don't end up with sand coating the inside of the cap like with some other styles I have tried. The formula itself is a nice consistency, very similar to a moisturiser which is what it smells like, nice and light.

It claims to be a non-greasy formula. I have oily skin and did find that both my body and face did have a bit of a sheen to them after using, but it didn't feel as heavy or as sticky as some products I have used so didn't bother me.

Regarding sun protection I have found that when using this I've avoided nasty sunburn, so far so good! I haven't been swimming in a long time so I can't really judge how water resistant it is.

The only downside I found to it was the shine factor on my skin, which so far I've found with every sunscreen I have used. It probably wouldn't be my first choice for sun protection if I was wanting something to go under makeup because of this as I do still have makeup and moisturisers containing SPF but I am still on the search for that great sunscreen which doesn't make my face all shiny!

Once my current bottle runs out, I plan on repurchasing as I do like this as a sunscreen and think it's one of the better ones I have tried.

Tips: This isn't my pick as a sunscreen to wear under makeup, better used alone or on the body!

Worth Trying

I am a fan of Nivea Products, have found them to be very reliable in the past. This Nivea Sunscreen comes in a tube which is handy for throwing into your bag. I prefer a spray on sunscreen which I find easier to apply, but the tube one is ok if you have the time to apply it. Typical Nivea smell and you only need a small amount, quite a thick formula and a bit oily and greasy, takes a bit of rubbing in to the skin. Very moisturising for dry skin and non-irritating for sensitive skin.

Tips: Apply a thin layer and rub in thoroughly.

Sticky

It did a good job protecting your skin from the sun and a good size to carry on your bag. However, I found it too thick and sticky and it is hard to apply evenly on your skin. Especially when you want to reapply it after playing on the beach.

Somewhat oily

Not the best sunscreen I've tried. It is quite oily and after spreading it on my skin and rubbing it in, it looks very shiny and I can feel a layer of this on me. I didn't like the smell and having to endure it for a whole summer I was glad to find a new one.

Tips: Only apply a thin coat.

Wouldn’t say no

Not too fond of how thick and sticky it feels, but then most sun cream is thick and sticky. It does spread well and eventually settles and absorbs. I don’t like feeling sticky at all. I burn really easy as I’m very fair skinned, but this did a great job protecting me all over. I don’t go swimming often so not sure how it holds up in the water, sorry.

Heavy but effective

I tried the Nivea sunscreen and found it to be effective, but personally thought it was a little too oily and sat on the skin rather than being absorbed. It is effective and does protect the skin but I am certain there are better options on the market. I probably would not purchase this again.
