rub, rub, rub? no, no, No!

I got a small pot of this last Christmas. Yes, I'm a product hoarder lol. I've gotten about four full body uses from this tub with maybe one more left. I've probably overused it a bit though so I could use it up quicker!

This comes in a traditional black lush pot. It has a very clear use by date and also when it was made and even who by. I love how lush do that. Also with these pots, once you have 5 empty ones. You can take them into lush for a free face mask.

This looks really cool when you open the tub. It's a bright blue, shiny sort of mixture. It has a different sort of scent to me. I can smell freshness and a slight floral but when I use it, I can kind of smell rubber Too? I don't find it hugely pleasant.

This is easy to use, I just take a small scoopl out and rub over my body. It's not hugely 'scrubby', I prefer something a bit stronger for my body but if you like something light that also lathers the you might like this.

DO NOT use this after shaving. I learnt the hard way last week and it stung so badly. Definitely use it before.

I'm glad that I've finally tried this out but I would never use it again. I much prefer coffee scrubs, I wish lush did some of those instead.

I really wanted to love it!

I was really excited to try this but unfortunately there were a few things I didn't like. The pottle for 'easy' use is annoying, I found it hard to get out the right amount, you need to use a lot. The salt disolves really fast, I can't get a good scrub going. I also really don't like the smell! I'm not even sure how to describe it... Salty? Minerals? It isn't a refreshing scent like I anticipated.

It also leaves your skin feeling slippery.. Almost greasy.

I usually love lush products but this just isn't for me.

Meh

I think the main reason I don't love this, I'd because of the screw top tub. In my bathroom this means it gets wet. The product is gloopy and I feel like it slides right off my skin when I put it on. It also leaves the shower floor slippery

Tips: I prefer other scrubs with better staying power and less slippery formulas.

Not a fan

I love lush products, most of them anyway. There was so much praise for this product I thought I would give it a go. I am one of the few that doesn't like it. The one good thing I found was it is a good 'scrub'. The particles weren't 'sharp' and didn't irritate my skin, a decent exfoliation experience.

I HATE the smell. It smelt like washing powder (surf/persil) to me. While I am ok with my clothes smelling like that, I don't want my skin to smell like it.

It's messy. I found that most of it would fall out of my hands and down the drain before I was able to scrub it all into my skin. Also, I found I used quite a bit per wash. Though I would use a little a at time, by the time I had finished I had used a handful (that seems excessive).

Not a fan of the packaging either. Though I realise it probably wouldn't work with a pump, I am clumsy when it comes to tubs in showers. Perhaps it's not meant to be an everyday thing as it is a 'scrub'? But I prefer the 'Buffy' and "You snap the whip" body bars for their ease of use than this.

Rub, rub, ooowww!

I got a 130g tub of this in the Lush Boxing Day sale - I think it might have come in a gift box. I'm only just finishing this now as I'm not a huge fan of this type of body scrub. I prefer the mess free Buffy bar from Lush, not that this one is particularly messy when used in the shower.

This comes in the standard Lush black pot. Upon opening, it is beautiful crystal blue with a heady floral scent. I love the smell of this. It is quite a runny consistency and is kind of a shower gel/scrub hybrid. It feels a bit soapy, almost slimy. You don't need to use a shower gel before or after as this does the job of both. I didn't enjoy using this scrub though. Despite not having any cuts or overly sensitive skin, the salt content in this made my skin sting. This was not pleasant to use at all and I couldn't wash it off fast enough. It did leave my skin feel smooth though.

This is also a product where you need to stick to the expiry date on the pot. Mine had only just expired but separated and was extremely runny. I couldn't mix the contents together again but was still able to use it. I'm glad I've now finished this product. I won't be purchasing it again and will stick to Buffy in future.

Tips: Avoid if you have sensitive skin, have just shaved or have any cuts at all.

My first Lush product..

I bought it because of the reviews here but I ended up really disappointed with this product.I've tried to use it in different ways to achieve a good result but I've got always the same result, the sensation of itchy, stinging skin all over my body and I haven't got any special issues with my skin.I will probably only use it on my feet. I've tried it also in my hair and it didn't feel good.

Not the best

It was a scrub but I didn't really feel like I had the most exfoliated skin after. I purchased it as I was looking for a more natural scrub as most have plastic in them, but this didn't give me the feeling I was after.

I also found the blue colour disturbing.

Meh. Pleasant but no superstar

Bit of a scrub addict. Shower is full. Thick scrubs, botanical scrubs, fruity, pretty smelly. Wanted to try this as love lush products and wanted a pre tan scrub but found it a bit meh. No. Major complaints but just left me a a bit blue. strong smelling almost overpowering. Dissolved too easily and watery so dispersed quickly on the skin or onto shower floor so a lot of wastage. Positives was no residue left and washed off well.

Rub, rub, rub but no thank you scrub!

I had heard so many good things about Rub, rub, rub shower scrub from Lush so of course I had to have it to add to my Lush draw. I was originally drawn in my the smell and the bright blue which reminded me of a tropical island. The citrus, salt and fruity-ish smell left me wanting more!

I have the smaller size pot which I got in a Lush gift pack called 'All the Best' I found it more value for money to get it with a few other Lush goodies. Upon opening in the shower it's very overpowering and almost sickening. I scooped a little at first to see if I liked it on to my skin and was graced with a refreshing hit. It is a light exfoliate which I love using all over my body so of course scooped out bigger amounts to finish the exfoliation. This is where I have trouble continuing to like it though. My skin feels like it has a slippery film all over after use and makes me feel like I have eel slime on my skin.

The smell, although slightly overpowering when you first get it out doesn't last on the skin for very long after use. I felt like I had to have another shower to wash the greasy, slimy feeling off my skin which to me is a total waste of my time and money.

I love that I can take back or reuse the container. I also love the little sticker that say who it is made by and the date they made it. It's so personal and you know they made the product with care. After doing a pros and cons list I have come to the conclusion that I do not like this product on my skin at all. In theory it looked like I needed to have it in my life but upon proper use I find that it's not for me and that it can go forth to a friend who loves it more than I do.

Tips: Use as a light exfoliate on the feet

Oh, that mosquito bite!

Hey there! You look like you've been outdoors! Don't think you got bitten by any mosquitos? Let our product find them for you! Let me present the Mosquito Hunter 5000. Just rub me all over your body and you will soon feel those little bites you didn't know you had! Along with any other nicks and scrapes you didn't know about!

I picked this product up in the Lush sales for half price and was pretty excited when it arrived. It came in the typical black pot Lush and inside was the bright blue gloop that they call Rub Rub Rub. The smell is quite fragrant, it's a bit citrusy and a bit floral, and it's quite nice. I was expecting it to smell like the ocean, but I'm glad it doesn't.

I haven't tried this in my hair, but my favorite way to use this is as a dry scrub, I feel like it gets in that much deeper than it does when I use it in the shower. It is very, very good at picking up the fact you have open wounds, and boy howdy does it sting like a mother. I also don't like that it leaves my skin feeling slightly slimy, or that it tingles slightly once it's on the skin. That is the only thing that isn't enjoyable about this product. I don't think I would buy it again, I'll just stick to the ocean!
