A feather light, oil free formula with an airy mousse texture that won’t feel heavy or greasy. Delivers all day shine control and blends flawlessly for a natural looking matte finish. Minimizes the appearance of pores. The weight is over – finally, shine has met its matte.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

Perfect for when I want a matte look,Purchased from Asos a few months ago super cheap and free shipping cant complain,Prefer to start off applying this with my fingers then with my brush to buff out I find it had amazing coverage and as long as you don't use too much like most things...,Love the packaging with the squeeze tube means you can get all the product out but you cant put it back in so be careful with how much you squeeze out.Priming is a must!!!

Favourite foundation

The Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse is my current favourite foundation. Prior to trying this foundation I had used Estee Lauder double wear, Clarins Skin Illusion and Revlon Colourstay. The Rimmel Stay Matte mousse has outdone these foundations with a sweet bonus of a lovely little $13 price tag (via asos).

I picked this up over a month ago and after the first application I was incredibly impressed. The coverage it provides is similar to the three foundations I mentioned, but feels a whole lot lighter on the skin. The first day I wore this foundation I felt like I had nothing on my face. The texture is light and creamy and blends easily and evenly. Previously I would reach for the Thin Lizzy concealer daily to cover acne scarring around my chin, but an extra layer of this foundation has left my concealer at the back of my drawer. This flawless coverage lasts all day (7am - 7pm) and keeps me incredibly matte. When set with a powder I do not need to retouch my foundation during the day and I no longer need to use blotting sheets.

After a few days of using this foundation I was about to label it 'perfect.' However, by the end of the week I had two dry patches on my face. I have oily skin so this was certainly unusual. I moisterised like a crazy woman and thankfully they haven't returned. This experience leads me to think that this foundation would not be suitable for anybody with dry, normal or even combination skin. The only other downside to this foundation is the colour range, which is pretty limited. I do have to mix two shades to get the perfect colour.

Overall this is my current favourite foundation which is an amazing alternative to the double wear, colourstay and Clarins skin illusion foundations. If you wear these foundations you will either love it even more, or at least enjoy it as a cheaper alternative for casual days. I will continue to use this foundation however I will need to be vigilant in nourishing my skin at night.

Tips: Asos offers the best price for this foundation.

Fantastic review. Thanks so much for posting. I have the double wear from EL and to be honest its the best foundation I've used but still not 100% as happy with the coverage of flaws. I think with that price tag, I will go and get some to try :-)

A lovely surprise!

I bought this off ASOS which has Free Shipping and great prices (yay!) and I have to say I am in love! It absolutely works exactly the way it says it does! It's almost got a mousse-like formula which seriously does stay all day! It provides a flawless, long-lasting finish, which - for me - is often difficult because I have combo skin. It minimizes not only pores, but also any pimples or bumps on the face! A little goes a long way as well. As for the packaging - it almost has a matte look about it. It's in a squeezy sort of BB cream type bottle which is great for getting every last drop of product out! The ONLY downside about this product is that the shade ivory is not that light so I think the shades might run fairly dark - so maybe not so great for fair skinned beauties! Overall though, a FANTASTIC foundation and I recommend 100%! Cheap and cheerful

Tips: Don't bother using this with a sponge as it doesn't apply like normal foundation. I'd definitely use a brush to blend the product into the face.

Good upgrade

It is a really good upgrade from their old stay matte foundation, it now delivers what it promises. It gives a really matte finish without looking cakey if applied sparingly with a brush. It is NOT the foundation you can quickly put on using your fingers. Only need a small amount to give really good coverage and it keeps the shine at bay. I don't recommend it to dry skin, it is best for oily, acne-prone skin. It didn't break me out.

Tips: Apply sparingly with a damp sponge or with a brush and don't forget to moisturize underneath.;)

Hi girls! I think it would just sit in fine lines on mature skin and also would be very drying. I can only use it on days I have no dry patches. I think they made this for young & troubled skin.

Oh poop, I was going to get some until I read about not recommended for dry skin. Does it make it look all cakey or flake if you have dry skin. I always fully moisturise and prime before using foundation, will it be okay as long as I do that? :-)
