    Didn't Like

I wanted to love this toothpaste because of the all natural ingredients but after about 5 days it dried out my lips and inside my mouth so I had to stop using it.

It does have a gritty feel when using it which didn't really bother me but some might not like. It did clean my teeth but I wasn't able to use it long enough to find out how effective it is for whitening. The taste is unique and not like more traditional pastes.

    Would not use again personally.

Finally a whitening toothpaste that actually works

I was apprehensive about using this toothpaste as I heard that baking soda is highly abrasive and could be damaging for my teeth. However I gave it a go and I am glad that I did.

I found that is was highly effective in removing stains on my teeth and it made my teeth visibly whiter which I loved! I did find that after going through two tubes of this my teeth started to get a little sensitive so now I mix it up with other brands and only use this toothpaste once a day.

Initially the taste of the toothpaste was a bit strange but I got used to it quite soon and I don't notice it any more.

Overall I like this toothpaste and I think it actually does what it says it will do.

Tips: I recommend using this a maximum of once a day and using another toothpaste as well to avoid overuse and getting sensitive teeth.

    Strong and Minty

I've been looking at trying Red Seal products for a while now. I've often brought them for my kids, but this time I wanted to to try Red Seal myself. This Baking Soda paste looked different to any of the other tooth paste products that I've seen on the market. What interest me about Red seal is the natural ingredients that they use to make their tooth pastes.

The tooth paste itself comes in a normal paste tube with Red seal labbelling. The clicks on and off easily. The texture of this paste feels grainy and smooth. The mint flavour is strong .

This paste applies well to my brush. When brushing it feels grainy. I find the paste quite strong in flavour. I've used mine daily for two weeks and counting. Overall my teeth feel fresh and clean. I haven't noticed any change in the colour of teeth. I definately would like to use it again.

    Baking Soda Toothpaste

I began using this a few weeks ago to try and whiten my teeth. My brother had used it previously in conjuction with a standard toothpaste to keep brown marks off his teeth. I decided to try the toothpaste as a stand alone product.

In terms of flavour there is a strong minty flavour, but it's more dentist minty than toothpaste minty. The consistancy of the toothpaste is also crunchy. Other than that it looks like a normal toothpaste.

I can't say I have seen a significant difference in my teeth and I know my brother gave up on using it because it stopped working, so I would say there is still room for this toothpaste to improve.

    Ineffective

I've previously used Red Seal toothpaste and wasn't a fan, but decided to give this version ago after receiving it from someone else. I know of baking soda as a whitener so thought this may be more effective than the standard variety.

This has a particularly strong baking soda taste compared to other toothpastes I have tried and I found it pretty unappealing. Like the standard herbal toothpaste it has a very gritty texture. It reminds me a lot of that gritty paste you get given at the dentist.

In terms of performance, I haven't noticed much difference in the few weeks I have been using it compared to my usual toothpaste except I have been experiencing more sensitivity but I'm not sure whether this is directly as an effect of the toothpaste or not.

I won't be repurchasing this again mainly based on it's lack of effective oral hygiene ingredients (yay fluoride!) but also because I just don't like it as a product itself.

    Not bad, ok stuff!!

I heard about this stuff, through a group, and everybody starting using it and raving. I joined the herd and bought one. stopped using my regular sensodyne, and used it for a week. I could feel a shine due to ingredients in it, but at the same time, they were too harsh for my teeth and i could feel sensitivity with hot and cold water. It actually works wonders for people who are careful with eating habits and not having sweet tooth, but in my case i tend to be careless and need my regular life saver, else i'll land up in trouble. so trial was over in a week, and i was back to my fav toothpaste. I would use it again but occasionally, coz baking soda used regularly, does make ur teeth not very happy, and erase off essential enamel.

    Nz Made

I really love the idea of this toothpaste being all natural and NZ made and I have used it and I felt it worked well but after speaking to a dentist I was put off due to it missing crucial elements that are needed in an effective toothpaste.

Not the best toothpaste in the world

Has a gritty substance, and the flavour is... well, baking soda. So if you don't mind this, then you might like it. Baking soda is said to naturally whiten teeth, and I noticed a little difference, but not huge. Bonus though, is its natural, so it wont damage your teeth- unlike strong whitening products.

    normally

I'm a big fan of red seal. But no positives for me on this product. apart from being nz made. Coming in a regular toothpaste pack, I opened an put just a small amount on my tooth brush. Immediately couldn't stand the over powering taste of baking soda (and i'm use to baking soda mouth rinses) I kept using this despite the taste, to see if it would help with stains from coffee and ciggies. after two weeks of putting up with the taste i could see not difference. also my teeth didn't feel "clean" after using this. It was a cheap product that didn't live up to the hype in any way.
