Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon Reviews

So i saw one of these the other day and thought it looked cool and brought it! The colour i got was 'Lead the way' which i would describe as a pinky nude, its super pretty and different to other colours i wear. I have pale skin and i always wear cool toned natural shadows and wearing this lip colour with my eyeshadow really made my makeup look so good. I already want to buy so many other colours like 'Enjoy the View' as it was so difficult to decide what shade to buy as they all looked beautful to me. I love the way it applies, the crayon application style makes it easier to line your lips aswell. Overall i just really like it, most of the lip products i use are maybeline as i think the brand does an amazing job for lip sticks.

I tried a shade some months ago at my friend's place and liked it so much that I bought one shade for myself of Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon. It glides very well and stays well too. All shades are so beautiful. It is pocket friendly too and easily available in the stores and pharmacies.

These are really great to carry with me on long days out. Easy to apply and re-apply. Creamy texture so keeps my lips well moisturised. Nice range of colours I have 3 of the colours and they all look nice on my lips

This is different to use but nice! The crayon texture is smooth and creamy, it's really just a thin lipstick.

It was easy to line my lips with and filling in again was super easy, and neat. There's a pull out sharpener at the other end, so you can keep it sharp and precise.

I was sent a muted burgundy shade, perfect for Christmas!

I found it incredibly long lasting, it withstood drinking tea and eating, and only smudged slightly when drinking a cold drink with condensation.

I would be super keen to check out other shades!

To be honest I hadn't originally planned to buy this lipstick. I was wanting to by a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick - pillow talk. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, it was not in stock so then the search was on for a dupe that would quell my need to buy a new lipstick. After a little digging I found that Maybelline Superstay Ink in 'Lead the way' could be a good dupe. Eventually, after a lot of looking I managed to fine one! It is a beautiful next option. This lipstick wears incredibly well, yet doesn't feel drying on the lips. I will still have traces left on my lips at the end of the day if I don't end up reapplying. The shade is absolutely beautiful and I will be definitely replacing this with the same again. I also bought another slightly darker shade called 'On the grind' which is also lovely but more of an evening shade for me. Occasionally I wear with a nice gloss on top to give it a more summery look. I would usually have to reapply when using it with gloss however. I think if you are on a budget this is an excellent option if you love the very popular Pillow talk shade but don't want to spend the hefty price tag.

This product is really easy to apply. The directions tell you to outline your lip and then full it in. Once your lip crown is no longer sharp you can sharpen it with the provided sharpener at the bottom of the ink Crown which is really handy to get a precise outline on your lip.

This product is highly pigmented so you don't need a lot and I suggest that you start lightly and then build up your colour if you prefer it darker. It is a soft matte shade and has tremendous staying power. During my 10 hour shift at work I reapplied my lipstick during my brakes but only a tiny bit.

It didn't smudge when touched and I really do look forward to trying some other shades within this range because they are so easy to use and stay on all day. Would definitely recommend.

Maybelline's Superstay Ink Crayon is a matte crayon marketed to last up to 8 hours with mistake proof control. It's designed to act as a lip liner with the precise tip and a lipstick with the wider side of the crayon. It also includes a built in sharpener to keep the tip ultra-precise.

The concept of this crayon is amazing and the product does a reasonably good job at delivering. It's like using a jumbo lip liner, but with a very fine tip.

In terms of wear-ability, I'd say I got around 4 hours wear and while the lipstick went on reasonably smoothly, it wasn't the one swipe glide I was hoping for. The color sort of stains the lips but is quite patchy as it wears off. Some lip balm soon sorts that out though.

All in all It's definitely one of the best SuperStay lip products I've tired.

The lip crayon comes as a sleek pen-sized tube design, that is retractable and has a built-in sharpener on the opposite end. The thin handle made it very easy to manoeuvre and the pointed end of the crayon allowed for really precise application.

The colour is very pigmented, and the crayon applied easily and glided on very smoothly. Mistakes can be easily wiped off before the product has dried, without smudging and smearing everywhere. It feels lightweight, and dries down into a matte finish. Once on, I noticed my lips felt a little drier than usual, but not to the point of feeling uncomfortable.

It took a while to properly dry down, but once dried, there was minimal transfer when I was drinking, and I could gently pat my fingers against my lips without any colour coming off on my fingers. It does wear off from eating, and it started to feather at the edges and get patchy after a few hours of wear, but reapplies nicely without clumping up. It also came off nice and easily without staining when I used my oil cleanser at the end of the day.

This colour was not my shade unfortunately however the product itself is very long lasting, it almost gives a subtle stain long after the lipstick had worn off. It also has a handy sharpener in the end which makes it easy to use even without lip liner so is great as a 2 in 1. It does not bleed and glides on really nice and smoothly. I have already purchased in a nude tone I liked the formula so much. Nice and slim pencil fits in my handbag with ease so is great for on the run use.
