Maybelline Master Fix Setting Spray Review

I wasn't too sure at first about picking this product up as I haven't used setting sprays before and $20 seemed a bit expensive for just a spray but I'm glad I did!

This product really did keep my make up in place all day. The mist is super light and doesn't feel tacky or sticky on the skin. I always use a primer but this defiantly helps. It also helps give your skin a more dewy look which is great. Previously I just used a powder to set my make up but will be using this from now on!

I haven't used a setting spray before but have heard a lot about them. Call me old fashion but I felt a bit weird going to all that effort of putting my make up on.

Then taking a bottle that looks to me like a bottle of hair spray and spraying it over my make up it felt a bit weird till I got use to the distance and how to spray it.

It did help my make up last longer and I kind of felt like it was the finish sprayed don't touch anything it's done nope don't try changing anything it's done.

Will keep using

I was sceptical as to wether this would work or not and was pleasantly surprised , I preform under lights in a band so having my mascara and eyeliner not running all over my face can be a challenge. It sets my brows nicely also . It's a little weird spraying it on your freshly made up face but does dry quickly .

I have been hearing all about "makeup fixers" for a while and really wanted to try. Wow, what a world out there but decided to try this Maybelline one after reading about it here on BR.

I applied as directed, spraying 4-6 times after application. The first day using it I felt it was working but not quite in the way I expected....keeping in mind this was on a day with extremely high humidity in Auckland. The next time I sprayed it after applying my foundation, left it for 5 mins and finished with my powder and sprayed it again. Not how recommended but this time all foundation stayed put ... also during a highly humid day.

I am pleased that it didn't change the look of my makeup (not changing my matt look). I came in a 100ml bottle, pump (not aerosol), the droplets seemed big to me but giving it time to set sees them disappear without leaving spray marks on foundation.

Very revealed also that it did not leave any marks on the clothes I was wearing. It didn't have a offending, over powering fragrance.

All in all, for the price, IMO its worth a try, it might work better over winter and expecting any makeup to maybe last on these hot, humid, Auckland days is unrealistic.

I applied my mascara and finishing touches to eye shadow after applying so I don't need to close eyes with mascara on.

For the price at $19.99 I don't feel its unreasonable, pretty much a bargain IMO.

I got this product in the Staff Picks BBBE. I thought to myself, what is this magic potion that can be sprayed on the face after make up?? So I read the reviews and figured I knew what to do with it. I’ve used Maybelline products over many years, and used many of them when I was younger, and haven’t ever used one that I haven’t liked.

It comes in a zany black spray bottle with white print and a pink strip and looks professional and attractive. It contains just enough information on the back to explain how to use it.

I have been applying it each day after finishing my make up application. I find four sprays is ample, one in each quadrant of my face. I have to say I kinda surprised the first time I used it that it didn’t cause my make up to start sliding off my face!

So, I’m finding it very good. I think it adds a bit of a glow to my face and my make up stays in place well throughout the day. It does dry quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh, not sticky or shiny, as the product claims. I’m very impressed it, especially considering how sceptical I was initially.

$20 seems a very fair price. It does a good job and will last for ages seeing as I only use four sprays each day.

I would recommend it to others to try, though I’m the first to admit it is the only product of its type that I’ve ever tried, so while I found it a good product, I can’t say if it’s better than other similar products or not.

Very good setting spray, dries down quick and doesn't get sticky in your hair like some can, Not super heavy. Fine as a matte or dewy finish setting spray. Priced well as most maybelline products are and is a decent amount of product so goes a long way.

A pretty good setting spray, nothing really to fault. Affordable and (Maybeline) is pretty accessible too. Settles nicely onto skin, doesn't feel tacky, and helps makeup stay on pretty well. Its not the best setting spray out there but definitely is one of the best drugstore ones I have stumbled across.

This is an average setting spray. I have been using it for over a year now (large 100ml bottle) but this is more to do with my waste-not-want-not frugality than any love for the spray. It claims to boost wear but, and this is the genius native to all claims on cosmetics, this claim is subjective. Who knows whether it is the spray or the actual makeup that is long-lasting. The matte black packaging is sleek and the pump disperses well. It has a lovely sweet smell.

I recieved this in a BBBE a few years ago. I had never used a setting spray before so wasn't too sure what to expect. It's a fine mist so care must be taken to not spray in your eyes. I normally hold it about 15cm away from my face with my eyes closed and circle around my face for a few seconds. Its lightweight when sprayed and fully dries within 30 seconds. Once it's on your skin it's like an invisible shield. Not sticky and no residue. It really hard to say whether it improves the longevity of my make up so not entirely convinced about it.

To be honest I am not really sure how to rate this setting spray because of the mixed results I have had with it. This use to be my holy grail! It was affordable, it didn’t leave any milky residue and it worked, what more could you want? However, after using this nearly every day for at least six months I found that it started to become less and less effective. So much so that I did not finish the bottle. I am not sure if the product had gone bad or if my skin had just become so use to that the spray became ineffective? Either way, this is not something I would expect from any kind of makeup related beauty product, especially one that I really like and want to keep using! So, after many months of being very happy with it, I ended up being disappointed.
