Easy to use, comfortable to hold

Super excited to review this eyeliner as i always have a little trouble in the summer with my liquid eyeliners smudging. First of all i really like the angled pen its really comfortable to hold and makes it a lot easier to apply. The brush is nice and fine and has the right amount of liner on it. I pull my eyes taught - just habit- and apply the eyeliner! Easy peasy and im really happy, lets see if it lasts all day. Im might try the winged look tomorrow? So its good ladies it lasted all day with no smudging i even did my usual and rubbed my eyes and then i was like oh no but all was safe. Ive now tried it for a couple of days and ive been really happy it is a little harder to remove but im fine with that if it means its not smudging in the middle of the day. I tried the winged look and its good but its something i need a little more practise with and im happy to admit that lol. Totally my go to eyeliner now, thanks BR.

Tips: A great eye makeup remover is needed but otherwise go mad :)

Maybelline Curvitude Angled Liquid Eyeliner Pen

I have to start by putting it out there that I am not a big user of liquid eyeliner. I struggle with it at the best of times, maybe its lack of practice, but I tend to steer clear of it.

But low and behold - I gave this one a try!

It was great to use. I felt really stable and I think that it is to do with the curved end. I used it on my upper lash line and found that it worked well. It was very easy to apply and was more like a felt tip pen I thought.

The colour was really dark and once dry it didn't smudge at all.

I don't have much to compare it too except for the other times I have attempted and ended up with a huge mess so on that front it is scoring full marks.

It stayed put for the whole day. This is pretty amazing considering how hot and sweaty it has been lately.

I will continue to use this and repurchase. It is now a part of my regime!

Tips: Give this one a go. Trust me!

Loves a classic

I had high expectations for this eyeliner because the master precise pen is one of my all time favourite eyeliners.

I was happy to see that the formula seems very much the same in this eyeliner. Very pigmented, very black, very even. The formula for this pen is really really nice and I had no issues with is rubbing off or smudging anywhere.

The difference between the master precise and this eyeliner is the applicator. The start of the pen is the classic felt tip with a sharp point but then towards the base of the tip there is a more bulgy bit. I did not see a huge difference in the application caused by the bulgy area on the pen. I feel as though the felt tip pen is not too soft that you will mess up but stiff enough to use only the end of the tip if you prefer. I found if i angled my hand differently then I got a very different look, angling more towards having the entire pen on my eyelid, rather than more straight on and having only the tip.

I think the packing of this eyeliner is nice and classic, a black packaging with a nice close lid. the angle of the pen is really handy as you can see a lot better when you are applying the liner which I think was a major plus for me as many eyeliners can be hard to work with just because you can't get it on the right angle.

Will I continue to use this? Yes for sure I like how there is different options for lines depending on how you hold the pen and I love the formula. I think for a beginner it may take some practice to get it perfect but I think its definitely worth giving it a shot!

Tips: try different angles to get the line you want!

Maybelline Curvitude Angled Liquid Eyeliner Pen Re

I love a good liquid liner, especially for elevating an average eye look. I have been on the lookout for a new one, and the novelty factor of this Maybelline one certainly captured my attention and motivated me to put my hand up to trial it.

First of all, I love the simple, sleek packaging - Maybelline has been releasing some classy looking products recently, which make me want to try the product. The design is looking cohesive throughout the latest ranges, and I appreciate that!

I also appreciate that this eyeliner stays in place and it is long lasting, it’s my new favourite and I have already got rid of my old one and put this one in its place. I love the fine, precise tip because it makes it easy to create a nice ‘daytime’ liner look - nice and natural, with the ability to amp it up if I want to. I’m not sure that the ‘angled’ factor of it really does anything though, and it’s more just a novelty feature that makes it stand out at first glance I guess. The angle definitely doesn’t hinder the application though (and it likely helps - I’m just not exactly sure how), so it wouldn’t dissuade me from purchasing the product, especially because the formula is great. Very bold and solid black, no weird ‘patches’ where the formula has gone dry - it dispenses the perfect amount every time which is probably my favourite aspect of this product.

The price isn’t excessive, but I would still probably buy it on special however, especially since Maybelline is easy to find and you can get some great deals most of the time.

Tips: Make the most of the precise tip by starting thin, then building it up if you want to.

Curvitude Eyeliner

In the trial time I managed to use the eyeliner multiple times. I have always had a love hate relationship with liquid eyeliners. Love it on other people, but never been so sure of it on myself due to my inability to get the perfect ‘line and flick’.

The product came in a sophisticated black packaging and text was easy and clear to read. The most obvious and unique feature however was the eyeliner’s bent neck.

This neck is made for easy application of the eyeliner. While I think I will always struggle to get the perfect lines with liquid eyeliners the bent neck made it a lot more simple to have a steady hand and attempt the desired effect. The eyeliner glided on easily and gave a striking line.

The eyeliner was long lasting and did not irritate my eyes.

Curved design for easy application

The Maybelline Curvitude Liner is presented in a cute black and rose package, where you can see the pen and it’s point of difference, the curved angle. I don’t normally have the steadiest hand for applying eyeliner so normally prefer pencils as they are easier to correct than liquid eyeliner. On following the instructions, holding the liner like a pen and swiping along the lash roots, I found the curved angle of the pen allowed me to apply more accurately. However I did make a small error and on trying to correct, did make a bit of a mess as the liquid eyeliner wasn’t so easy to correct/remove. I ended up with a bit of a smoky look, however I think with practice I could come to quite like this liner as the curved tip did make a big difference than applying with a standard straight applicator.

Tips: Have makeup remover on hand, don’t try to correct without.

A liquid eyeliner that works for me

I love eyeliner but hate the struggle to master a simple line across the top of my lashes. I was excited to try this product and see if I could return to loving liquid eye liner

Opening the packet the shape of the pen was intriguing. Taking the cap off, the tip itself is different from most I've seen, in that it has a rounded part in the middle, almost as if it's there to help manoeuvre/flex the tip to how you'd like your line - be it thick or thin. The package promised me a refined and precise line - this I had to see.

First use of this pen, I started at my inner eye, using the very very end of the pen tip.. I was nervous about black liquid liner so I was trying hard, not to press hard, and it lined my inner eye as it promised, with a fine lash line, and the line seemed great - straight, not too many 'judder-bars' either. I continued over the rest of the lash line, with a slightly heavier but more confident hand, and again I was getting a relatively straight line, and not too heavy. It went on very smoothly and effortlessly

I'm only guessing, but in using this pen, the shape of the pen itself seems hook the pen tip over your lashes so you're not trying to work through your lashes with the eyeliner - it's a little bit genius in my amateur eye-lining opinion. My whole battle with a straight line is working around my eyelashes! This pen definitely overcomes that.

Removal later on, I found it washed off easily - but its not waterproof, so that probably helps with removal. I didn't have panda eyes the next day so must have removed quite well.

The next day I tried the eye liner again, and it was really great! I even strayed from my usual safe thin line and attempted a bit of a bolder line towards the outer edges, and it looked really great. Didn't look bumpy like my usual, and even the odd bump was very easily tidied up without lining half my lid to fix up the smallest bump.... Super impressed. I imagine if you loved winged eye-liner, this product would be amazing for it.

Wear through the day - better than the pencil I'd been using, but it definitely had some fade after about 5 or so hours. It fades to almost a gun metal grey on me, which in all honesty wasn't awful for me - I quite like that it eased off a little from the strong black line out to a blue/grey. My eyes still looked lined as they started out - and it was only a really close look in the mirror that I noticed the colour/tone change.

This pen gives you a bit of confidence if eye-liner has been your weaker part of your makeup routine. The black colour is lovely too - not too over-bearing, but not subtle either. This is definitely a great product for anyone that struggles with eyeliner - especially liquid eyeliner! I really love this product, and given I tend to keep my eyelid neutral and just use a liner and mascara, this product really works for me. I will keep it in my routine, and throw out all the other liners!!

Tips: Start with a lighter hand for a thin line, and build on it. A heavier hand will give a heavier line. With the fine tip - its relatively easy to go back and lightly tidy up any line.

Hold your skin with the other hand for a steadier canvas to work with.

What is this sorcery!?

I personally would rather eat hot tar than deal with putting liquid eyeliner on as part of my everyday makeup routine... this product however is set to change that. No more stretching my eye out to get them lashes out of the way and hoping for the best when I release the hold! This bad boy allows me to reach right over those lashes and create a masterpiece on an uninhibited canvas. I didn't even have to go back to the first eye to play the dreaded game of 'even it out roulette'. Great colour, long lasting, no mess or regret. No negative feedback, just love and light for this champion

Tips: Buy it

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Someone else took the words right out of my mouth here when they said this is an ‘eyeliner for DUMMIES’.

In my view it is literally foolproof. Now, I’m not a big winged eyeliner girl but I like me a very fine line along the top of my lashes a technique I learnt from a certain Mr Wayne Goss. Pencils really annoy me as I find I can rarely get the line as fine as I would like and thus generally look like i’ve punched myself in the face.

I’ve tried eyeliner pens before with limited success which i’m in no way attributing to the products. In each and every case it was definitely a case of operator error.

This product however changes the game completely because…it is bent! Yes you heard right BENT. The head of the pen bends down which literally means you can see exactly what you are doing and you can control the pen super easily. I have been able to draw super fine lines which I love.

I find the product once on is smudge proof and with just a little bit more pressure you can make the line as thick as you like.

Small detail too, but it has a screw on cap. Now that may seem a bit strange as I can recall the last time I had a cosmetic with one of those, but it’s great as the likelihood of losing it and the product drying out is minimise.

Love, Love, Love!

Tips: Get one! You won't regret it.

Good for liner newbies

It certainly looks different to any other eyeliner I've ever owned. A liquid pen with an angled tip to that you can hold it with ease and ensure the pen is pointing down towards your lashes as close as you can get to your lid. I found it easy to use and the pen tip delivered plenty of ink, but not too much that it didn't leave a good thin line. I imagine you could build it up quite easily. Due to the angled down tip i found that my line stayed close to my lashes, however I wouldn't say it filled in between exactly but that could be the way i sued it and didn't pay close enough attention to what I was trying to do. The ink is a good solid black and long lasting and doesn't smudge once dry. It came off with my micellar water after a few swipes. Happy to use this again as I felt it was a quicker and easier alternative to pencil, however would not give a smudge looked if that's what you were going for. You would, however, be able to do good crisp lines and flicks with this pen.

Tips: Keep fingers away from the tip end, as ink can leak out.
