L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Fibralogy Shampoo Review

I have very fine coloured hair so I was excited to give this shampoo a go. I have also used other products in this L'Oreal Paris Elvive range and my regular shampoo and conditioner is the other L'Oreal EXPERTISE range from the supermarket so I was expecting this product to be great however I wasn't blown away. I loved the packaging, the blue colour really stood out to me and I also found the smell to be nice. The shampoo really lathered up well and I found that not much was needed but I also found that my hair felt overly dry after using it. My hair did seem to be thicker after use but I would rather it feel silky and fine than thick and dry but if you are really after a thickening shampoo this would be worth a try.

When i got on the review panel for this product, i was really curious to see if it would actually work because its a pretty big claim. For starters, Its smells amazing and its a convenient shaped bottle as it squeezes in between everything else in my bathroom! The consistency is really thick which means with how long my hair is, I'm going to be using a whole lot! I didn't notice too much difference in the thickness of my hair itself, but it did help give it a more voluminous look which is great! It also made my hair super shiny and glossy.

Little bit of background I have oily fine flat hair - must be washed daily!

After the first wash I didn't notice much of a difference, although my hair was silky soft. After continuous use, personally I didn’t notice “thicker” hair, if there was it was short lived – maybe right after the blow dry. Although it didn't deliver thicker hair, my hair definitely has more volume.

The shampoo is really creamy and delivers a thick foam – so I would assume this is a deep cleaning shampoo. I usually can get away with just shampooing (twice sometimes) but not with this product. It definitely needs the conditioner because it leaves the hair super dry! It has to be noted though even with use with the conditioner, my ends are quite tangly/knotty… which isn’t something I come across often as I have shoulder length hair.

All-in-all; this is a decent volumising shampoo. Love the packing, can’t miss that bottle colour and the scent is sweet, nothing overpowering. Would I repurchase…. Yes/maybe if it was on special – I just can’t agree with the thicker hair claim and it makes my hair knotty. Hmmm worth a try though! Maybe I could slot it in between some moisturising shampoo

I love the packaging of the shampoo and the flip top cap is really sturdy and doesn't feel prone to breaking like some other ones do. The shampoo formula was fairly thick and smelt fresh and a little sweet though it wasn't too strong and overpowering.

When applied to my hair and scalp it didn't lather overly well but it did feel nice in my hair. After washing it out, my hair didn't feel too stripped and dry (like it can do with some other brands).

I used this shampoo every second day in the shower. When used in conjunction with the ELVIVE fibralogy thickening conditioner, I found that I had slightly more voluminous hair though out the day without having to sacrifice softness. I do however question whether it made a difference to the thickness of my hair as I haven't noticed a change as of yet but I will monitor this with continued use of the product.

Overall I would say that I am satisfied but not blown away by this product. I think I still prefer my Tresemme volumising shampoo and conditioner, although they are slightly more expensive!

My intent in trying out these products was to see if I could make my easily tangled hair more manageable. I think it has achieved that - my hair looks and feels great. Whether it is thicker or not I can't quite tell but it doesn't tangle as easily as it used to, so that is some evidence in its favour. It's generally a lovely shampoo to use as well - smells great and makes your hair feel good as and after you wash it. I think it has made a positive difference for me. But whether that's a thickening difference or not is hard to say. When I look at individual strands of hair, they look good in terms of structure, elasticity, etc. They may have always done, though? Potentially I need to look into before and after photography next time because the change could have been too gradual for me to notice.

Whilst I LOVE the double serum in this range, I am not quite as impressed with the shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo is thick and creamy and very nice to use, has a pleasant perfume. I have noticed that you have to be careful with these style L'Oreal bottles as it's very easy to use too much and therefore waste it. To begin with, I did not notice any difference in the thickness of my hair but after about a week and half of using both the shampoo and conditioner, there was a bit of thickening/extra body. I am HUGE fan of L'Oreal, but I use mainly their Salon products and although I liked this product, it didn't thrill me enough to change to it. I would say it's definitely worth a try though to anyone who would like more body!

I have quite fine, oily hair and I found this shampoo worked well for me. It smelled nice and cleaned well without completely stripping all my hair's natural oils. I thought perhaps my hair was a little thicker after using it but I wouldn't buy it again for this purpose.

Grey hair looses it's fullness and my hair is lightened as well so it also is fragile so be nice to revive my limp locks and have luscious fuller hair.

Lovely turquoise bottle and bright pink lid and label definitely attractive, sits on it's lid so no shaking to get it down the bottle.

Filloxane penetrates the hair from within then expands and then solidifies so gives you thicker hair fibres from within. Each wash my hair should get thicker. Developing thickness over ten washes. This filloxane stays in the hair fibre. Made in France.

Actually has a nice mild fragrance, a soft mint /citrus smell, it has a nice consistency not to thick or thin, a clear pearl in colour, a small amount is all I needed, it foamed up quite nicely. I love the way this shampoo left my hair feeling light bouncy and clean, it's a deep cleansing shampoo but my hair doesn't feel stripped as it can do with some shampoos, didn't get tangled up in the washing process that also happens with some shampoos. No dry scalp or itching. It sort of puffed up when I was working it into a lather was quite nice.

My hair does look fuller and healthy but no shine. I don't think it actually thickened my hair fibres, I had a really good look. Less hair breakage and that's a bonus as I tie my hair up and I'm so rough with it. It has made my hair is bouncy and has more volume to it, it's not fluffy or frizzy it does feel silky. The more I've used it the fuller my hair has gotten.

So yes a tick of approval for bouncy fuller hair with a lovely fragrance to it. I'd say value for money it has done as good a job as dearer volumising shampoos that I've tried.

I thought that this shampoo was very simple to apply and it smells real good! The size of the product is of good value and would last a few months. I don't wash my hair everyday and it cleans my hair thoroughly. However I didn't notice any significant differences to using this product compared to other shampoos giving the same results.

This was was really nice shampoo. It smelt very nice and seemed to clean my hair really well. It lathered very well and seemed to get my hair very clean. I didnt see a dramatic increase in the volume of my hair although it did make it feel like there was less product in my hair weighing it down.
