Quick, easy, natural

Brows are the bane of my existence - mine are sparse and light, so rushing my brows isn't an option if I want them to look remotely natural. When I saw the creamy looking pencil I was immediately pessimistic - it looked like it would be a fairly heavy looking product on, which I couldn't hope to get looking natural with my brows.

I couldn't have been more wrong! It was so easy to apply with a light hand in short strokes - it looked soft and natural, and was easy to blend with the attached brush when necessary. Towards the points of my brows, using a slightly heavier hand for a stronger finish also worked perfectly and still looked great.

The longevity was good, too - it lasted all day, with only a small amount of general wear.

Personally, the triangle pencil struck me as a bit gimmicky - while it did allow for a little more control and find definition initially, the pencil tip quickly molds itself to a more generally rounded shape once you start to actually use it.

Overall, I'm so impressed by how much quicker this made doing my brows, and will definitely continue using it going forward.

Best brow product I have tried

Easy to use, good quality brow product. I love that it was the brush on the other end to help groom the brows. Such nice rich colours too.

Brow artist Xpert review

As someone who really stuggles to get her eyebrows to look natural amd not like someone who just escaped from the circus, I was super excited to test the product.

The colour is perfect for my dark hair makes my brows look bold, shaped and well quite frankly perfect for the fiest time ever. Finally, doesn't look like a 3 year old was using my face as a colouring book.

Love the fact that there's a brush on the other end of the pencil which is retractable and tringular in shape.

The product glides on easily, the colour lasts all day and it is build-able too and waterproof!!! What more can one ask for?? I love it so much I will never buy any other brow pencil. Thank you for a great product L'oreal. Absolutely my go to from here on out.

LORÉAL PARIS Brow Artist Xpert

I'm currently trialing the LORÉAL PARIS Brow Artist XPERT in the shade 109 Ebony for Beauty Review.

It looks like a brow pencil with two tips. It's silver in colour with 'LORÉAL PARIS and BROW ARTIST XPERT' in small font on the front. It has one brown lid at one end which is the triangular shaped tip for precise application and a see through lid at the other end where you can see a soft styling brush tip through the clear lid which is used to groom brows into place and blend for a natural finish.

The triangular tip is the brow pencil part. I twisted the tip so the brow pencil tip came out. I applied it to my eyebrow with precise and easy application. I didn't need to apply much pressure and found the Brow Artist glided nicely onto my eyebrow. I then used the brush tip to brush my eyebrow hairs into place and blend for a subtle and natural finish.

I have black hair on my head and my brows are a lighter shade of black. I think this is the darkest shade in the range. I was happy with how my brows looked after trying thisa. It made my eyebrows look fuller and groomed but not overdone. The shade is perfect if you have light, olive skinetone like me. It's not too dark and looks natural.

So far, I am satisfied with this product and will keep using it daily and see how it goes. Brow Artist Xpert is great for doing your eyebrows, especially if you're a busy Mum like me and you don't have much time to do your makeup. It's good for using every day and for touching up your brows and the cool thing is, it's waterproof and lasts ages. At the end of the day, it's not too difficult to remove. I use coconut oil and Swisspers wipes to remove it. I will most likely purchase for my makeup kit in the near future once this trial product runs out.

L'Oreal Paris Brow Artist

I've had a few hit and misses with products like this, but I'm happy to report that L'Oreal Paris Brow Artist Xpert is a winner. The pencil is a nice angle which makes application simple and easy.

While the colour I sampled was not spot-on with my natural colouring, it blended well and added definition, while also looking surprisingly natural. I also have a few 'glitter streaks' in my brow, and I'm pleased to say this covered up those few pesky greys perfectly. I love that it's retractable too - no damaging the end or searching for the sharpener. The brush is nice and firm and tames those wayward strays. I've used it quite a few times without the pencil too, it's always nice to have 'double duty' products. I've popped this product into my handbag to use the brush as a touch up after my daily swim too.

The product lasted all day, is relatively waterproof, but still easy to remove with your usual suspects (I use micellar water at the end of the day and it had no problem removing it).

This is definitely a product I'll be purchasing after it runs out. I've found a winner!

Tips: If, like me, your eyebrows are a bit peskier than the average, add a wee squirt of hairspray to the brush for added staying power.

Warm Brunette

L'Oreal Paris Brow Artist Xpert in 'Warm Brunette' is a rich chocolate brown.  I thought that this colour may have been too light for my naturally dark (almost black) eyebrows, but after it had been applied and blended, it looked really natural.

The applicator tube is cylindrical in appearance, with a spoolie shaped styling brush on one end (for shaping and blending) and the eyebrow pencil on the other side.  Once the coloured cap is removed, it reveals a triangular shaped tube end, with a triangular shaped mechanical eyebrow pencil.  I'm not sure why they made this pencil triangular shaped, as after the first use the triangle ended up with a soft round point, and every use after that was basically a soft round tip with a sharp unused triangle base underneath.  An expensive marketing gimmick, if you ask me, as I'm basically now applying a rounded pencil to my brows each time I use it.

Anyway, triangles and rounded tips aside, this wind-up pencil is really easy to use, it blends beautifully and looks extremely natural.  I'll definitely be purchasing another one when this one runs out.

Tips: Apply with a light hand, the pencil is really soft

Great for a quick tidy brow

I have a lot of experience with brow pencils, specifically the retractable pencil kind. I prefer this type of brow product, as I am not really the hugest fan of the super sharp perfect brow, I like to be a little on the more natural side.

Although the shade sent was unfortunately wrong for me ( it's brunette -I am blonde) I still tested the formula, and did a full brow trial on my boyfriend (dedicated to the trial much?). The formula glides on evenly, and can be made darker or lighter by adjusting the pressure upon application. The head of the pencil is thicker at one end and thinner at the other, so you can definitely switch sides for your desired line thickness, but as standard with this type of product it's never going to be as precise as a very thin brush. It fills in well, and is very forgiving in that you don't end up with two fat slugs for eyebrows even if you do go over the same area maybe one too many times. It has a brush on the other end, although I personally found it to perhaps not be quite bushy enough to achieve the best shape, but it still works nonetheless. Given that the brush and pencil and two-in-one, it of course is perfect for travelling with, or just carrying in the handbag for touch ups during the day/night.

This product is great for those who like to do a quick brow fill-in, but it can definitely transition to a night time look; with more brushing and precision when doing the application. This also has the added benefit of being easy for beginners to use, but being totally fine for the more experienced make-up user.

Overall, the product isn't necessarily all that different from everything else similar on the market, so the price point could be a factor in whether I would re-purchase this myself. It's certainly a great little eyebrow pencil and brush, and I find it to be a super convenient product, that is suitable for pretty much everyone.

Tips: Adjust the pressure. for lighter strokes, or for more depth and pigment. Use a light pressure at the beginning of the brows to fade into a deeper and darker colour towards the ends. Use upward stokes facing the thinner side of the pencil up, to create natural looking filled brows - easy to do for a quick tidy up in the morning.

Nice and Natural

Thanks BR for giving me the opportunity to be part of this amazing trial. I've never really used eyebrow products before so was keen to give this a go.

I have overplucked brows which I have been trying to grow out for the past 6 months. Such a mission. I have dark hair so choose the shade ebony. I love that it is wind up as I hate sharpening things, one end has a little brush and the other is the wind up pencil with a triangular shaped tip.

I like to give my brows a good brush first then I use light strokes and fill them in. It is not highly pigmented but that gives me a more natural look. It is creamy and applies with ease.  After applying I brush the colour through, it really transforms my brows but again they look so natural and beautifully groomed. It does not rub off or move around at all.

Overall I really like using this eyebrow pencil and I will happily continue to use it. It is a great, affordable price and easily available.

You too could become a Brow Artist Xpert

I've been very impressed with this Brow Artist Xpert product from LÓreal Paris, right from the very first application. Here's why:

* Firstly, it's an attractive-looking product in silver and brown, with a retractable, triangular-shaped pencil at one end and a blending brush at the other. Both ends have lids that are easy to get on and off, and the whole product is easy to grip and use. I was quite surprised when I first took the lid off the pencil end, as the triangular-shaped pencil is not something I'd come across before. But after using it I can honestly say it's been well-designed, with the user in mind...

* The triangular-shaped pencil does indeed seem to allow for more control over the whole shaping/shading process than many other brow pencils do. It definitely helps me to be more precise when defining and sculpting my brows. I've never really been that great at doing my own brows, but the more I use this product, the more I feel I'm improving on my technique! So it's a pretty aptly-named product in my opinion. You DO feel like a bit of a brow artist expert when using this product! Don't get me wrong, I'm still not perfect at it, I still have the odd mishap, but I'm so much better at brow artistry with this product at the ready!

*The pencil is soft and the formula is lovely and creamy, so you only need a light touch when applying it - no need to break out the biceps!

* The brush at the other end of the applicator is very good for then blending the colour in well. I'm able to blend with this brush without too many brow dramas at all!

*The product stays on the brows well and doesn't seem to wear off or smudge over the course of the day. It does take a bit more effort to take off at the end of the day (compared to some other brow products I've used), but that's a very small price to pay for some nice-looking brows!

In summary, the triangular-shaped pencil may not be groundbreaking, but I do think it's a beneficial design as it allows for more accuracy and control. The brush then blends the colour in nicely. For these reasons, this brow pencil has the edge over others I've used. You can't really ask for more in a brow pencil, unless you're wanting it gold plated - with perhaps a diamond on top!

I'd recommend LÓreal Paris Brow Artist Xpert to anyone who does their own brows. It'd be perfect for younger women just starting out at doing their brows or indeed the older girls like myself who still need to improve on their technique! It's a very helpful, user-friendly brow pencil that I can't really fault. FIVE kisses.

Tips: Apply with a light touch - there's no need to be too firm with it as it's a soft pencil. Also, you may inadvertently end up changing the shape of the pencil if you are too overly forceful with it. It's a nice, creamy, soft formula that requires little effort to apply.

As good as Anastasia Beverly Hills!

I didn't have too high hopes for this product, I'm really particular about brow products because a lot of products wear away on my oily skin. I have to admit, I'm super impressed with this product. The formula was pigmented yet soft enough to use and I like the fact you could control how 'fierce' you wanted your brows to look! Something I'll definitely consider buying.

Tips: Don't be too heavy handed, use a small amount first and then brush out.
