I was chosen to trial this alongside the Max Factor Miracle Match foundation. Usually I'm a BB cream girl so I've not had a lot of experience with primers. It is just one extra step that I can't be bothered with in the morning. I may have been converted.
This made a huge difference to how the foundation preformed. For starters, it made it easier to apply, without any dragging. The foundation maintained most of its coverage until the end of the day and didn't oxidize at all. This was not the case without the primer.
The primer comes in a sturdy plastic pump bottle and just one pump is enough to cover my whole face. It makes my skin feel really smooth without that really slippery feel that most silicone primers have. Whilst it doesn't seem to improve the appearance of my skin on close inspection, from more of a distance it did make my skin look better when I used this on a bare faced day.
I would use this again, although the price is a bit off putting for a product that doesn't seem like an absolute necessity. I will continue to use it with the Max Factor foundation as it did make a noticeable difference.
I was lucky enough to be given this by BR to trial. I was just running low on my Hourglass primer so it was excellent timing.
I've seen comments that the packaging looks rather cheap. A plastic tube with pump. But I like it. You get what you pay for and I don't mind when the product is cheaper if you get practical and reasonable packaging. I particularly like that the tube is see through so you can see how much is left. I also like the pump so you actually get the product out - unlike squeezy tubes where you open them and still have a week worth of product (here's looking at you pore-fessional).
The product itself is white - as per a lot of primers. It has a cream consistency which I like. It makes it easy to smooth into the skin. The smell I find quite chemically and I'm not a big fan, but for once I got over that rather quickly. It smooths on to the skin quickly and easily. I have used this with both the Max Factor foundation and my usual Bobbi Brown foundation and have found that it helps with the longevity of both. It certainly does have a silicone feel to it - but not as bad as the Benefit primer.
Overall I really like this product and would recommend it to friends in the market for a primer.
Tips: Make sure you don't go overboard - easier to add more than take it away. One pump does my whole face.
